I knew I wanted a balloon artist for my sons first birthday. When a lead fell through, I turned to Tip Top Entertainers via a third party website I cannot remember the name now. Right away, Elizabeth contacted me. When we played phone tag, she always got back to me. We had a lengthy phone conversation to ensure her people had knowledge of the theme, then she sent a contract with a required deposit, which I paid. She called me days before the event to confirm and even gave me the name of the artist. Fast forward to the day of. We had Gilbert who was very kind. He was amazing! There was always a line from kids to adults. Even when the piñata was going on, there still was a lone. The work he did was incredible. And everyone at the party was impressed and enjoyed it. He even stayed a little longer. I just felt at we didn't bring enough cash for a bigger tip. They were professional, on time, and great personality! Will be using again. Boo Urns. Had these people picked out for a child's first birthday party and even had a lengthy phone confirmation. Everything seemed fine. We were very accommodating to their payment method and told them we'd do whatever was easiest for them.....then they call back 4 days before the party to say the artist will be out of town. You don't know this more than four days out??? I highly doubt that. Totally unprofessional big time drop of the ball. AND to boot they were rude when they told us their artist was not going to be available. The one they had previously confirmed. Book elsewhere unless you want to find yourself in the same mad dash. **No I stand by my review despite the owner's attempt to discredit it. Yelp is the place where you get all sorts of reviews of peoples' different experiences like it or not. And I think the syntax and diction make it all make perfect sense. Unless there's another Tip Top based out of La Mirada this is the right place. She was so creative and knowing this party was a for a 1 year old birthday girl, she accommodated face painting the older boys a Halloween theme face painting which I thought turned out really good. The entertainment for our block party I had originally booked did not work out. I called Elizabeth at Tip Top 3 days before our party, in a panic, and she made everything a-ok. She herself was already booked for a gig, but she sent an awesome balloon twister, Chano, to our party. Upon sending her an email, she wrote back to me promptly, followed by a phone call the following morning. Although she manages over 20+ entertainers, she was very organized, knew everyone's schedules, and could very quickly find someone who matched the criterias we had. Chano was dressed very neatly, had a big smile on his face, and arrived 20 minutes early to set up and start twisting before all the kids arrived. He had a great attitude. Not only did he continue to twist the balloons throughout the two hour, he also laughed with the kids and seemed to really enjoy his work. Come to find out, Chano has another profession by trade but is doing balloon twisting because he loves this work and loves to see the smiles on kids' faces. He really takes pride in what he does. Of course we gave Chano a nice gratuity. He really made the kids laugh and enjoy our block party very much. I would certainly call Elizabeth again - for our next block party, we want an air brush tattoo artist! I did not give Tip Top 5 stars because the price they quoted was more expensive than other similar entertainers I had used before. My sister and I book kids entertainers frequently for parties - balloon twisters, caricature artists, air brush tattoo artists, "super hero" training specialists, song and dance guys, magicians, you name it, we've booked it. However, booking Tip Top with Yelp special $130 for $180 (something like that) did cut down on the cost. I would book through Elizabeth again because I had a great experience with her personally (as an entertainer as well as a coordinator) and this time, with her associate. However, the higher prices make it a bit more cost prohibitive. read more
