We are all still talking about the lovely dinner they whipped up. My husband who does not like vegetables, LOVED THE VEGETABLES!! I don't really like meat, but I LOVED THE CHICKEN over beautiful fresh squash. We couldn't get enough and went home very full and satisfied. The staff were so lovely, comfortable, generous and competent. Thankful for their time and talent.

Working with SKBT and Karen has been a joy from start to finish. From the moment we walked into our tasting to create our delicious menu, to last minute changes, to executing perfect food the day of, I want to relive this experience again and again. My guests raved about the menu, and some favorites included fun takes on cocktail meatballs, shrimp and grits, and chilled tomato soup shooters. The food was beautiful and displayed like it was in a magazine. Karen and her team were also in charge of staffing my event. This meant not only did they feed my guests, but bussed the tables, cleaned up trash, set up my pie display (Karen took it upon herself to clean out her stock of cake stands and create the most beautiful tables ever) and EVEN mop my bathroom trailer when it sprung a leak. As guests started to leave, SKBT cleaned every table and organized my decor. Best of all, Karen and her team were friendly and attentive the entire night. My bridal party had their own tray of appetizers waiting for them immediately following the ceremony, and all night the staff checked in on my husband and I (as well as my parents) to see how they could help. I eagerly look forward to having another event so I can hire this team again.

This is a new Jamaican restaurant in the East Hartford area and I was so excited to this place. I…read morereally enjoy a place in Vernon, so when I saw that this place was right in town I wanted to try it. I ordered oxtails with rice and peas with cabbage and a side of sweet plantains. The oxtails had good flavor. I know sometimes you can get some fattier pieces but I felt like their meat was mostly fatty. The rice and peas had that nice coconut flavor I enjoy but the rice needed to be a little bit more tender. This meal cost me a little over $16 which I feel is over priced. I can't say this place is great or bad. I'm neutral because I do believe they have more than one cook and this could of been a bad day. They don't offer typical Jamaican baked goods like coco bread and patties if that's what you're looking for. Some items that they cooked wasn't even on a burner to keep warm but wrapped in foil. This could cause food borne illness.

This place is the latest addition (a month or so) to an old mall here in East Hartford. It is a…read morecombination of takeout Jamaican food and a bakery. There is no social media presence and can be hard to find online. The menu is not even available. There is nothing printed either. In fact, the menu is the name tag above the item for sale. For prices and sizes, you will just have to ask. I am doing takeout and having a homemade drink just like I did during the roughest part of the lockdown. For my drink, I am making a JAMAICAN DAUQUIRI. It consists of 2 OZ APPLETON ESTATE SIGNATURE (40% ABV), 0.75 OZ of FRESH LIME JUICE, 0.50 OZ SIMPLE SYRUP (OR DEMERARA (a non-centrifugal cane sugar is the technical name given to traditional raw sugar obtained by evaporating water from sugarcane) and garnish with a lime twist (well, not today). Add all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lime twist. This is a very good drink. Appleton Estate Signature is a fruit forward expression with aromas and flavour notes of dried apricot, fresh peach and a subtle hint of sweet molasses. It does finish serenely, as it started. TERROIR, the Appleton Estate, deep in the middle of Jamaica's Nassau Valley, began perfecting their complex rum-making over 271 years ago in 1749! Surrounded by densely forested limestone hills, the region's topography makes for a rum unlike any other. As for ageing, spirits age quicker in tropical climates than cooler ones. This means that the flavour of our rums develops at a quicker pace. The company does adhere to strict minimum ageing guidelines which means that the age statement on a bottle refers to the youngest drop of rum in that blend. One other thing, it is crafted with Jamaican limestone-filtered water and has NO added flavors. I think Campari owns the brand too. I am using Roses's Sweetened Lime Juice (since I have no fresh lime juice), but's it is low calorie and dies the job. For my Simple Syrup (water, sugar and lactic acid). I use Stirrings (est. in 1997 in Nantucket, Massachusetts; I think Sazerac owns it). For my meal, I am having the goat curry with (a lot of...) rice and beans, fried green plantains and steamed cabbage. This is A huge portion, but costs around $18 after tax and tip. To kick it up a notch, I'm adding some Sontaya Mango Habanero. Green plantains can have a hard texture. Food is real food. I almost forgot to take a picture! The goat meat is surprisingly (mostly) boneless. Now, the dessert is a piece of pineapple cake . It is enormous and costs around $9. The business is owned by two partners, one of which owns the right side (restaurant) and the other owns the right side (bakery). The frosting is very light and the pineapple sauce tastes real good. A few seconds on the microwave will soften up the frosting. Overall, it is very good!

Being from Boston, I like to think I'm a foodie. Never heard of this place but had an open mind. So let get into it..... The apps where laughable. They brought 2 styles of mushrooms, chicken n pineapple on a stick and let's not forget the huge wheel of brie cheese with more mushrooms. They were ALL served as cold apps. I emphasize that because when the order was placed it was requested that the food was be warm and on warming plates. Let's not even mention the presentation. Also had requested wait staff and 1 woman was there, but all she did was stand around. After the app round it was time for the main event. Stuffed chicken, tenderloin, baked ziti, roasted potatoes and their 'claim to fame' home made dinner rolls. One would think, they would redeem themselves, but that sadly did NOT happen. Again, ALL the food was cold, presented on aluminum throw away tins. Need I say more. The chicken was cooked to bullet proof protection, the tenderloin (if that's what it was) was as delicious as chewing shoe leather and the potatoes where less to be desired. But what shocked me the most was the "baked ziti". Yes I used quotes here because this was singlehandedly the WORST pasta dish I have ever seen. It was burnt so bad all the sauce had disappeared. I mean seriously, HOW can you mess up ziti. And trust me folks, they did. And lets not forget the dinner rolls, although, I would like too. All for a $1000.00. We were robbed!! I could have went to McDonalds and had a better meal off the $1 menu. There's more I can write here, but I'm so disappointed in this establishment that they are not even worth it. In order to post this, I had to give it a 1 star. But trust me they don't even deserve it. In conclusion, let me say that I'm not sure who are writing your reviews but they would probably consider canned dog food as delicacy. A word of advice, this is not a caterer I would recommend for any function. They deserve no rating and should consider another line of work.

They were helpful, responsive, and everything was clear and upfront. There were no surprise charges, or "gotchas". In fact they did several things beyond the scope of the contract without additional charges. More importantly, on the wedding day everything went perfectly. They gave us great advice on the set up of the tables, chairs, bar etc. They listened carefully to everything that was asked of them, made a couple of outstanding suggestions and dealt with the problems caused by strong gusts of wind at an outdoor venue with calm assurance. All of the food was incredible. The hor's d'ourves were fantastic, especially the brie and artichoke tarts, mini lobster rolls and tuna tacos. The mac and cheese in mini ramekins were also a huge hit. The dinners were equally delicious. I had the half chicken, which was served with a delicious polenta. It was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, moist with a crispy skin. Other sides were served family style and were all fantastic. The dessert was also superb. Each guest received a trio of mini desserts, each of which was delightful. We had several guests with food restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free). The servers made sure the restrictions were observed, and they made it a point to bring appropriate appetizers to those guests, which was a very nice touch. All of the guests raved about the food. The service was also first class. There were so many servers handling the passed hor's d'ourves that every guest had multiple chances to try each of the offerings. Service of the dinner was equally impressive. The venue is outdoors, and it is a bit of a hike from the kitchen tent to the dining area. Despite that, the guests were served quickly, and the food came to the table still hot. Finally, their prices are quite reasonable, especially given the outstanding quality of the food and service. A very good value.
