Boise, Mississippi, North Portland

I am so glad I did a little looking and learned about this children's store in Portland. And then…read moremade the trip up from Eugene with mom and baby in tow instead of talking myself out of it! The woman who was at the store--the owner, I think, based on our conversation--was friendly and super helpful. She knows her merchandise inside and out. She carries clothing here that I've never seen before at the children's stores I usually visit in the Chicago area (I've already told the owner of one of them that she needs to look into these brands!). I really appreciated that she explained the sizing system since I was a bit perplexed at first (maybe she saw my confusion)--since some are brands based in other countries, they're sized by centimeter but the American sizing equivalent is on the back of the tag (though can we talk about that cm/in sizing system for a moment, because it would make my life infinitely easier when trying to buy kid clothes....) Almost the moment I walked into the shop I zeroed in on this adooooorable pantsuit for my daughter, and a darling dress. I'm buying a little larger for her since she's a high percentile child and I'm looking forward to seeing her in these when she's big enough to wear them. They also sell local goods--I bought a Portland-themed t-shirt for the babe. I asked about a local shoe company I'd heard of that listed BW as a retailer and though they don't carry that brand any longer, she showed me a different local brand they carry called Ozznek (which has super cool shoes with removable soles!!) and I bought two pair for my little. This lovely little store was worth the visit; I will definitely return and I'm keeping an eye on their socials. I think they ship as well so between that and stopping in when I'm home visiting my mom I can keep my babe in cool duds. Parking is on the street, and it was easy for me in late morning/early afternoon on a Thursday, but I'm not sure if they have any parking lots or garages for visitors to Portland's Boise neighborhood.

Also, the owner is keen to stock the store with items that are good for the environment and your little one will not grow out of the educational toys and books they have.

I have followed ARQ on Instagram for quite some time. They have a simple, modern aesthetic, and it…read moreis clear they have many devoted fans. I moved to the area last year and as I was familiarizing myself with McMinnville, happened to drive by their warehouse/storefront and nearly slammed on my breaks! I immediately recognized their logo, parked, and headed to the front door, but alas it was locked and at the time did not appear to be a space normally utilized for direct sales. Recently, they announced they would be open 10:30am-4:00pm on most Saturdays (and will announce on their IG if they won't be). Well, you best believe I nearly ran there in excitement! Parking is available via a small lot on the side of the strip in which they are located, as well as street side. It is a small shop and none of the neighboring businesses appear too active, so parking should be no difficulty parking-wise. The shop itself is as swoon-worthy as you would imagine, tall ceilings and big windows out front. They offer the same lovely intimates, baby and kids clothing as they do online, along with some special items they make but do not currently offer via their website. Lastly, there are some additional gifts and home goods that they do not craft, but are in line with their brand: towels, candles, soap, incense, and a small selection of wellness and beauty products. I already had (and love!) a variety of their bralette styles and original high waist panty, but they had just released a new high leg version of the latter, Misha, that I was so excited to try. The sweet gal working was so much fun and happy to pull different colors and patterns from the back. I ended up with leopard, which I normally do not care for, but their version is irresistible! And while I didn't think anything could beat their comfy high raise undies, the Misha is my new favorite, and I can't wait to stock up on more (they just released an embroidered days of the week set that I NEED!). I also grabbed a bralette in toffee that is a little more structured than their original offerings, and of course fell in love with it too. They use the most comfortable, soft, and luscious cotton fabric. Their products are organic, sustainable and US made, and yes, more than your average intimate, but worth every cent. Make sure to sign up for their email list and give them a follow on IG as they occasionally do special sales and events at this McMinnville location. Otherwise, you can order direct from them via their website.

I came in just to get a so how cheap shirt for my baby because my toddler dumped his Apple juice all over the baby :/ She was quick to greet me with a smile and showed me right to the section I was looking for (baby clearance) she even shuffled thru the rack for me since I'm about 2 ft too short to reach the top rack where everything was. She also let me know what other areas of baby had sales and the rack that was on sale with an additional discount. Very very helpful!!!! As a tiny mom of 2 (a 2.5yr old and an Infant ) I ALWAYS need all the help I can get. She was so appreciated! She even offered me baby wipes and told me if I wanted to try the outfit on him right there to ensure it fot, I could. Gave me the wipes to clean off my sticky baby. No words for how awesome she is! I hope my receipt says her name.... The store itself deserves a 3 star.... It's crowded and cluttered. Too much stuff shoved Into racks it's near impossible to shops most of it. Even for sale items it's pretty pricey but that's the downer of having kids... companies capitalize on your need and ups the price on everything. The styles left little to be desired but hey... It's how it goes. BTW. My receipt says SARAH helped me... I hope that's her name! THANK you! Excellent customer service.
