There's a lot of little things that change in the last couple of years that are not good for anybody. The view is definitely killer, but you could see that they don't really wanna maintain the aspect for their patrons. They used to be a mini golf, which was kinda nice to keep kids busy granted they do have a pool and shuffleboard, but you would expect them to maybe try to expand since the building burned down. It lost a lot of charm. It seems like the owner does not want to care about the property. They also seem to put a Band-Aid on things rather than actually fix things. The building I stayed in was actually crooked and felt like it had foundational problems, etc..

I am conflicted on how to rate this place. I went here for a wedding last weekend. It was one of…read morethe nicest weddings I have ever been too, however it was one of the worst rooms I've ever had. The Good: The wedding was well organized. It was outside on a cliff overlooking Lake Michigan. Everything was well marked. The reception was also outside under big white tents and it was gorgeous. The food was incredible and I assume it was made here. It was buffet service with large white plates and great food. The service was friendly and speedy. The bartenders were nice. After the wedding the resort set up a bonfire with catered food and snacks and it was really nice and fun also. Lake Michigan is only 20 steps or so down from the resort. The resort has a nice pool, basketball, tennis, shuffleboard, and mini golf. The Bad: The room was bad. It was a small, older room which was fine. It had a bed, chest of drawers, sink and bathroom. This was all it had. I'm serious. This place was missing amenities such as wall art, a clock radio, a screen without holes in it. There was no bar or hook in the closet area to hang up my suit for the wedding. There was no iron, no microwave, no mini-fridge, no TV. There is a lobby area but it's not used. We checked in at this old room in the basement covered in panelling and a complete mess. It was not professional at all. The Ugly: I paid about $180 total for the room. I could get a four star hotel room in a major city on Hotels.com for that amount. There is no reason the room should have cost that much. It was stupid. I'll give three stars for a great wedding, but that's the best I could do for getting bad motel room for the price of a four-star hotel.

The location is hard to beat, it's tucked away in a quiet, wooded setting that feels private and peaceful, yet still very convenient. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, with plenty of space for kids to play and for adults to unwind. Our kids had an absolute blast biking around and playing outside. It was great to see them enjoy the space so much. One of our favorite parts of the stay was the amenities. We had a blast playing pickleball during the day, and then relaxing in the outdoor hot tubs in the evening. Such a great way to end the day! It's also conveniently located about a 15-minute drive from Oval Beach and downtown Saugatuck, making it easy to enjoy the beach and explore the town without going far. Overall, this place is a hidden gem perfect for families or anyone looking to unwind in nature while still being close to great attractions. We'll definitely be back!

We've been coming here for years with our two kids, who get incredibly excited every single time we plan a trip. It's one of the few places where both adults and kids genuinely have something to look forward to. Whether it's a relaxing weekend away, celebrating birthdays, or just unplugging for a bit, Dollybrook never disappoints. What really stands out is how versatile the property is. We've celebrated our kids' birthdays here, brought friends for their birthdays, and even used it for work gatherings. Every time, it feels just as special as the first visit. After 10+ stays, that consistency says a lot. It's clean, well-maintained, peaceful, and simply a place where great memories happen. Highly recommend, whether you're coming with family, friends, or colleagues.

Owner is not negotiable. Cabins were pretty OK. Definitely bring your own sheets unless you like to sleep on plastic. Update. She let us leave at 10:30am which really blessed our souls. The bacon and eggs were overflowing (because we had time to feed ourselves). Coffee was pouring overfloweth from our mugs and we embraced brotherhood. It was a great family event here spending time together. You may not be as blessed as us. Why is checkout at 9am? Check in is at 3pm. Seems like owner should be more flexible and allow her customers to leave at 10:30 at the earliest. We got lucky because a cleaning lady had another job. If that didn't happen I would be writing this review from a Denny's restaurant.

The staff was helpful, the places were well maintained and the overall sense of the outdoor life was excellent. They don't have TVs in the units so it promotes a more personal family vacation and forces families to bond. They do have a large fire pit outside along with a volleyball net in then sand, a swing set and even a tether ball station. One of my favorite perks is that it sits right off of a lake. The furniture is old and original and many items are hand made from trees as you would expect to see. I would definitely use them again as I love the outdoor feel.
