This is for the restaurant only! I didn't stay the night But the food is great and servers are very helpful and kind prices are kinda high on every thing except for sandwiches prices are really good! Now they dont seem to have ac so I would suggest sitting outside in the shade.

We stayed two nights in the Hillside cabin. Hillside 1 which is the entire upstairs is the way to go with a nice view of the lake from the balcony. This is a remodeled, very comfortable stay with great room, separate bedroom with king bed and full bathroom. Though you're within 100 yards from Lake Michigan, there is no beach because you're on a cliff but there's a public beach just down the road. Lea and company were great to work with. Attached photo is a panorama from our Hillside 1 deck. Hillside has unit 1 upstairs with units 2 and 3 downstairs. Renting all 3 units would be great for our entire family someday soon. There are also two golf courses nearby. Buzz's Lakeside, just up the road, is a nice place for perch, whitefish or a good salad. There's outside seating and takeout available.

Lovely property overlooking Lake Michigan. Can't wait to come back! We came opening weekend for an anniversary get away on May 7. Our room was great, very clean. Peaceful walk down to water and around property. Lots of outdoor seating and hanging swings to relax and enjoy the view. We would like to come back this summer with our family to use the pool, and play horse shoes, basketball, volleyball, tennis, playground, etc, etc, etc. Scenic Drive has a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan and a beach. Duck Lake state park is right across the street. Light house museum and town of Whitehall just minutes away.

Not worth the money. I went for a wedding, where I had fun, but the actual accommodations and services were subpar.

The…read morelocation is the perfect secluded spot while still being close enough to town that you can grab ice cream every night with a 5-7-minute drive. The owners are fantastic and willing to help with anything you need, and the price is great. Bedding is available, dishware is there with a fully functioning kitchen, and has an a/c unit if needed for the hot days. Boats can be rented as well. A great place to visit any time in the summer!

My husbands family has been going here for 30 years. He went as a child and had wonderful memories…read more We now go and take our children and make more wonderful memories. There are other families that stay at the resort the same week every year and they have literally become family to us. My brother in law actually met his wife there! The cabins are awesome just bring your clothes, some bedding and food and you've got a week in paradise. Sandy beach for the kids, docks for fishing, boats to rent and a place for a fire outside every cabin! They have something for everyone in our family! They even update you on local happenings like the farmers market or music on the Pentwater Greene. Kevin and Christen are second generation operators at Ferwerdas and it shows. There is so much pride in the cabins, beach area, grounds, etc. The location is perfect, set on Bass Lake with access to the Outlet (where Bass Lake flows out to Lake Michigan) and just down the street from Sunset Ln where you can see the most beautiful sunsets on Lake Michigan. If your family is looking for somewhere to call home while on vacation I suggest you try Ferwerdas, you will want to start it as a new family tradition! Ps: try Bortells (S. lakeshore Dr.) down the street for cooked fish it's the best!!

We really love this campground! The Pentwater/Ludington area is probably our favorite area to camp…read more We have friends who have a seasonal site here so we decided to try it this year. We have always camped at Mears State Park...after camping at Whispering Surf this will be our first choice! First off the owners Jane and Andy and great! They are super nice, knowledgeable and want you to enjoy your stay while being respectful of other campers and their property. I was extremely impressed how they dealt with the Covid restrictions...We felt extremely safe and my family was able to enjoy our camping experience! First off, I don't know about you but my husband and I do not always communicate great when parking our camper...well forget about that at Whispering Surf....The Campground Host will guide you to your site and instruct the driver exactly which way to turn the wheel to get the camper parked on the site perfectly! This is AMAZING!!!! We love the full hookup! They come around twice a day and pick up your garbage from your campsite. They have an app they use called campers app in which you can order wood, ice, firewood, fire starters, Hershey Bar, marshmallows, graham crackers, and more...they they deliver the items to your site. They have a small mini golf course, and play ground however they were not used much due to Covid. This campground is VERY nice, VERY maintained but not fancy...it is perfect for us...we are camping. There is a little resort next door that rents very basic older pontoons for full or half day for very low prices. Which is great if you want to putter around bass lake. The people we have met at Whispering Surf have been kind, diverse and from all walks of life. Quiet hours are similar to most campgrounds, as long as your outside music is off and you can't be heard and aren't disturbing other campers it didn't seem to be problem for us to be out by our fire after quiet hours. We love this campground and plan on booking several spots for next season!
