Phenomenal in every way. High quality ingredients and it makes all the difference. Their weekly creations are always perfect-- blueberry matcha in summertime is to die for. Love the activated coffee and all the add-on options that I haven't seen at any other local coffee shops. Owners are really nice. Big fan :)

Love the concept of this pop-up! The coffees were really good and the flavors stood out which I loved. The matchas on the other hand, while they may be high quality, they tasted a little watery and not as creamy as I'm used to. I also don't love strawberry milk with matcha, I would prefer a puree with real strawberries. Wouldn't get the matcha again but will def be back for coffee!

    Brown Butter Caramel Latte

I had a Lions Mane Mocha today which was OMG delightful. It was creamy, chocolatey with a hint of something unique... definitely worth coming back for. I've had the Hojicha Latte which is so popular that it was sold out today by 11am L. had a Brown Sugar Caramel Latte which was yummy too. The baristas were friendly, happy and very busy. There were several tables of different sizes out in the sunshine. Right outside the Bread Bike on Saturday mornings makes for a perfect combination to start your weekend.

Since it was a little bit later in the night, I ended up getting up a hojicha latte without adjusting for sweetness.

I'm so in love with everything about Scout Coffee on Foothill Blvd in SLO! I'm actually bummed I…read moredon't live here and was just visiting. If I lived here, this would be my GO TO spot for ALL my coffee needs. The space is thoughtfully designed with many furniture pieces from repurposed goods. It is spacious with a light, bright airy feel. All the "baristas" were so welcoming and friendly. They seemed to enjoy their job and their coworkers. They set off a very cohesive vibe. I wish I could have spent the morning just being there but had to leave for a funeral. So many things caught our eye! The baked goods were devine. The T-shirts were super soft and I would have bought one of they had our sizes. The roasted coffee beans were priced fairly. I haven't even gotten to the coffee yet! There were so many iced coffee/cold brew options it was really hard to choose. We ended up selecting the Lemon Pistachio shortbread cookie, a Ginger Molasses cookie, a seasonal scone: Honey Cinnamon, an iced Latte and an iced Vanilla Bean Latte: 1/2 sweet and a bag of Classic Espresso beans. My only sadness was I should have gotten a large latte instead of a regular. We saved the desserts for after the funeral and enjoyed the yummy coffees on our way. The Ginger Molasses cookie was perfect. Moist and chewy and not too much ginger. I should have bought more! The Lemon Pistachio cookie had a lovely balance of lemon zest and fine pieces of pistachio in the cookie and a not too tart lemon glaze and pieces of pistachio on top. It wasn't dry or super dense either. Someone making these is an experienced baker! The Honey Cinnamon scone was the best scone we have ever had. It was messy but so worth it. If you want an entire coffee experience, you have to visit Scout Coffee on Foothill Blvd in SLO. You will not stop thinking about what a beautiful experience it was after you've gone.

The girl wouldn't serve me because they said we don't open until 6:30, we just have the door open for people. People? What am I? I think she meant employees... Anyways, I came back because my girl needed that Matcha (you know how it is) Ordered a LARGE iced matcha and a croissant. $10. When I was handed an Obvious medium maybe even a small arbiter shops I told them I asked for large and she looked at me like I was stupid and said "This is OUR Large". Anyways, I'm not a coffee snob I just wanted to treat my lady and I don't think I'll be coming back after this experience for the money spent. After a tip im at $12+ and feeling ripped off

Very Good - But Don't Be A Lazy Customer…read more.... The Nautical Bean on Los Osos Valley Road is my go-to place for sandwiches and drinks in that part of San Luis Obispo. - Overall: 4 - Location: 5 - Exterior: 4 - Ambiance: 5 - Menu: 5 - Sandwiches: 5 - Drinks: 4 - Service: 4 - Price and Value: 5 - Parking: 5 - Bathroom: 4 Pros: - Location: Convenient to the western part of SLO. This outlet of the small chain is on Los Osos Valley Road near the corner of Madonna Road in a shopping center. - Menu: It's not just drinks. They've got a sizable menu of sandwiches...lots of pastries and the usual drinks. - Ambiance: Casual. Many tables inside and 2 patios...one in front and a smaller one in back. You'll find students on computers and friends sharing a table. Music plays in the background. - Food: Excellent. My wife and I stop by once a month before visiting a local doctor and split a sandwich for lunch since they're large enough to easily divide. My favorite is the Tuna Melt ($18). Each comes with a nice salad. For people familiar with restaurants in the San Jose area during the 1970s, 80s and 90s...the sandwiches will remind you of the Good Earth. - Drinks: From excellent to okay. Besides visiting with my wife, I also drop by before or after other doctor appointments. That's what happens as you get older! So I'm a semi regular. I usually get the same thing - A medium hot chai with no whipped cream...extra hot and extra foam. On February 25th, I had one of the very best drinks in my life. A few days later on March 2nd, it went the other way. My hopes were initially raised when a talented young woman (who might be a manager) took my order. Unfortunately, someone else made my drink. The first version had no foam...so she emptied some liquid and added foam. I got to my car, started drinking and realized it was lukewarm - not extra hot - but I was tired, probably lazy and just finished it. It wasn't even busy in the shop. - Service: Always friendly. - Price and Value: Lots of good food and drinks for a fair price. - Parking: No problem. There's a lot in the front and a big one in back. - Bathrooms: Not bad. There are 2 behind the shop - both are usually quite clean and come with a code you get from the employees. Cons: - Consistency of the drinks: This is a problem at almost every place I've tried.....except The Tribe in Arroyo Grande. Most of the drinks here are very good, but people should not be on the front line unless they know what to do. Overall, the Nautical Bean on Los Osos Valley Road makes great sandwiches, has a fine selection of pastries and does a good job with their drinks.

I was very happy. - I was greeted while walking in the door and served quickly. I received a branded paper bag upon purchase. I love the branding overall and the downtown location is a quick walk from the Mission. - The furniture and place settings are perfect for the theme. However, I felt a bit lost when looking around the restaurant. The back wall is filled with fake florals and a neon sign in pink. Then, the wall by the bar features porcelain jester masks to represent Italy in red. The far wall has local art for sale. I suggest picking only one of these themes like the local artist portraits for a more focused ambiance.

We all went with the Signature Tea. It included a choice of Tea, an assortment of 5 petite sandwiches, 2 scones with jams, & 5 gourmet pastries. We ordered 4 orders of the Signature Tea, since it was meant for a pair to share. Four orders for 8.5 of us was perfect for a light lunch. Or an afternoon snack, lol. Note: It may not look like a lot, but having a whole pot of tea to yourself will definitely get you feeling full haha Everything was delicious! & super Cute! I was in love with their house made jam. I believe one of the owners came out to give me more info on the fruits used. Blueberry, Raspberry & Strawberry Jam. Yum! Definitely worth a try at Breda for a special occasion. As there aren't many Tea Places in the surrounding areas.

One drink was iced and one was hot, yet I still received an incorrect order, along with an extra coffee cup we never asked for. To clarify, it was a simple order that somehow became too complex in certain eyes. There were three or four mistakes the cashier had made, and although he appeared apologetic, it felt disengenuine, as if he showed little care for our order as customers. After telling the young man multiple times that the order needed to be compensated, it was finally comped, but I did not get to enjoy the barista's drink that had been made with great skill and precision. I wish the young man at the counter had been more coherent and present with his community, as I felt he could be a potential star for that business. Whether he does not understand or is unsure of a customer's order, avoiding extra drinks, cold versions, or compliance mistakes would help make this café a wonderful experience. I found myself nearly negotiating to have my meal comped for the mistakes he made. His coworkers at the espresso bar made no errors and seemed fully aware that we had ordered correctly and simply wanted decent service, not social disregard or stigmatizing behavior. It did not matter my skin tone. I was still disregarded by this young man and pushed aside as just another account for the business. That young, confident arrogance did not help him, nor does it help a customer's perspective on a first visit. I will still give this café another try, as I am looking for a new place to study and maybe people watch some. I am glad I did not ask for the young man's name and even more patient with his naivety for now.
