Lucy's coffee came in clutch when hotel coffee was not doing it. The location is perfect since it is the first place you see when entering Slo Ranch from the parking lot path. I came during a very busy Easter event and the staff was very tentative and on their A game given how busy they were. The vibes were amazing and this could be thanks to the Slo community. I was in town visiting but I felt very welcomed. I swear if this coffee shop was in so cal I would have expected someone to go full Karen when waiting for her coffee. I ordered the black ice tea and a cold brew coffee. I enjoyed the tea the most. The cold brew was slightly below average and tasted a bit grime. I probably ordered a less popular drink but it made my experience a 3.5 star. Lucy's coffee experience was great but the cold brew left some room for improvement. I would recommend Lucy's coffee and I plan to try some other coffee items next time. The price and value is also great. read more

The service is fast, reliable and quick, perfect for on-the-go runs. Also, it's quiet with faint background music which improves the vibe of Lucy's. Finally, the food is great! For example, a kids hot chocolate has a decent amount, but I personally love how much time they put into JUST a hot chocolate. My husband got this "peanut butter smoothie". He's a huge peanut butter fan while I just like it sometimes. We both died this and agree it's not strong enough, tastes like milk. The smoothie tastes more of almond milk and date than peanut butter. We'd say less than half closer to 30% I think there was banana in it too. We wouldn't get this again the title is not the star of the show. Still it's 85f out so we're going to finish it but it's just okay. I was looking for salads at the new San Luis Ranch Market, but they were closed for seasonal remodeling..so I spotted Lucy's and thought that a bagel might do, since this was breakfast/lunch time. The place is new and spotless, with a few tables for studying. I was warmly greeted, and immediately spotted an Avocado Toast option which would fill the bill for a meal. They nicely took my name, while I wandered around taking photos. I do think they need more study tables, or even tables inside, since I had to keep placing my beverage on occupied spaces while I took photos. I did discover an outdoor table with a great umbrella, and there are lots of other outdoor tables and lounge spaces to enjoy your beverage. The Avocado toast on French bread was fresh and perky, with tomatoes on top and black pepper. I love coming to this coffee shop after my toddler's play group. The workers are always super friendly and fast service. I've enjoyed all the drinks I've tasted, never too sweet, and just the perfect sweetness from their syrup. Walked in with my leashed dog to grab a cup to go and was met with a curt "Service animals only" -- no hello, no good morning, no welcome. It wasn't busy: no line, just a few couples at tables on a Saturday morning. Later, a nearby shop clerk told me she'd had the exact same rude treatment here, and I see several other Google reviews echoing this unfriendly, anti-dog attitude. If being polite is too hard, maybe coffee isn't the only thing that's bitter here. Can't rate the coffee or food -- they didn't want my business. read more

Great coffee, but we brought our dog in as there was no "no animal" sign on the store. They told us dogs were not allowed, and my fiancé took him outside. A minute later they welcomed a much larger, non-service dog into their establishment and gave him a pup cup and dog treat. Thanks Lucy's for the down home toasted goodies. We had avocado toast and peanut butter, banana and honey toast on multi grain bread. They could be more toasted but otherwise good for the price. I have been recommended Lucy's for awhile now as a great place to work/study, so I was eager to give it a try! I really loved the design with the sweet 60's diner vibes and aqua colors. I love a place that commits to a theme! They had a great menu for coffee, I ordered my classic oat milk chai. I really appreciated that they put the drinks in environmentally-friendly recyclable cups! Bonus points for being environmentally conscious! The chai latte was great! It was not very sweet, so if you are looking for an extra spicy, not sweet chai, this is the place to go! They had ample seating to chose from as the space was pretty large. They definitely designed it for people to study. The walls are lined with single tables big enough for your laptop, coffee, notebook, and water bottle. Huge plus that they wifi was really fast and was a great connection!! You do not find that in every coffee shop! My only hesitation about Lucy's is that it is pretty cold in there. I was wearing a big sweater, drinking a hot chai and I was still freezing cold! If you plan on staying around a while to work, I recommend bringing a jacket or maybe only sticking around to work on the hot days in SLO. Overall, I enjoyed Lucy's and will be back! read more

I love supporting local, especially all of the local coffee shops on the central coast. I don't know why it took me so long to try out Lucy's, but after meeting a friend here a couple months ago, it's become my new favorite stop when I'm in SLO. The espresso is delicious and strong (which I prefer). I love that their syrups are made in house. All of the employees have been nice and helpful. It's cute and open. What a nice little coffee shop. The décor is simple but pleasant, and the barista was so helpful. I ordered the ginger tea latte and loved it, spicy and not too sweet. The shop has plenty of seating and is bright and clean. Another reviewer mentioned that it was cold. They must have taken care of that issue because my mother and I were very comfortable there.
