We had to cancel our wedding because my fiance had a breast tumor diagnosis about 5 months out from our wedding. Mike and Becky were very understanding and returned our full deposit within a few days. This showed us that they were honest, good people who had strong values and cared more about being of service than purely caring about profit. We offered deducting the tasting from the deposit and they said no and gave us our full deposit. Thank you Mike & Becky! For our tasting, they gave us a DELICIOUS meal and great, great service. We got married at Rava in Paso Robles on 5/10/25 and Chef's Table absolutely knocked it out of the park with their catering service. When our planner learned we had booked Chef's Table, she immediately smiled and told us we made a great choice-- she was right! First of all, they are so easy to work with and very responsive over email. We made a bunch of changes throughout the planning process and Becky was open to all of it and would always promptly send an updated menu and invoice. Incredibly professional and reliable, which was so appreciated during the whirlwind of wedding planning. They were also so flexible as to what we wanted, and encouraged us to go "off script" from their sample menu and invent our own dishes! I can't say enough how happy we are that we had Mike and Becky as our caterers. Throughout the planning process, Becky was extremely responsive and kind. When we went to do a tasting, we were extremely pleased with the variety of flavors and delicious food that Mike was able to create! After having Chef Mike's food at various corporate events and weddings I hired Chef's Table Catering to cater our company awards banquet for about 200 guests... which was a Luau theme this year. From first contact to final check in they were awesome. Becky and Mike were amazingly gracious and flexible in terms of our menu and the "extras" we needed. I always received responses to communication promptly, professionally, and personally. They accommodated our request of having a full luau roasted pig and then doubled the request when we asked for two double sided buffets to move guests through as fast as possible. Becky also decked the tables out with banana leaves for the Luau theme. They were set up and had our various needs of an app station, beverage station, passed apps and buffets exactly as planned and right on time. The plates they included were even bamboo which added to the decor. To top off already great service, when Becky noticed I was a bit frazzled in the last 30 minutes before the event, she offered four of her staff to help me take care of setting up the bar since the bartenders we hired were not on site yet. The staff she "loaned" to me were incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The quality of food was as fabulous as the service. The pineapple noodles were amazing, the fruit was fresh and flavorful, and the rest of the menu was creative and met with a wide range of our guests' tastes. Mike even created a special "Luau tropical tea" especially for our event which was delicious! I will most definitely ask Chef's Table Catering to be a part of future events. Everyone said the food was the best food they have ever had at a Wedding and they made it so easy throughout the entire process. Service was seamless, and they even brought the wedding party our own tray of appetizers on the train! We had the BBQ meatballs (mike's sauce is amazing), Kobe sliders, tomato soup & grilled cheese that looked beautiful and then a pear and gorgonzola philo cup with local honey! We actually ended up asking for the honey vendor and Mike was nice enough to share, they filled up jars of honey for us to give out to our guests as favors. Our dinner consisted of Chicken that was actually moist, the tri tip (cant say enough about this), the BEST mac and cheese, along with the seasonal spinach salad and the orzo salad. Absolutely delicious. They go above and beyond, are so well prepared and are so accommodating. They are always responsive, and truly helped to make our day special. Most people say they dont remember the food from weddings they went to, OUR guests and us will definitely remember. They were absolutely the right caterer for us for the following reasons: (1) pricing- their pricing was below the average caterer but did not equate to lower quality food or service. Our guests raved about the food all night long, particularly their flaming donuts dessert. (2) service leading up to the wedding- we met with Mike and Becky in person to do a food tasting. They were warm, personable, and caring. They went through several menu iterations with us, adjusting their quote quickly and kindly. (3) execution- Mike is a very talented chef, and has built a well oiled process for cooking and serving food quickly and efficiently on site. (4) service at the wedding- it was seamless. It was the first time Mike and Becky worked at our venue, but given their upfront planning and attention to detail and timeline, you could never tell! Food was ready on time and so delicious. Their servers were also kind and attentive to our guests needs. (5) their flaming donuts. We already mentioned that guests went crazy over this dessert, but we want to give this extra attention. We're not big fans of cake and wanted a dessert that would be tasty and stand out. Mike turns the flaming donuts dessert into a show for guests and this experience added to our overall wedding vibe. The only complaint guests had was that they ran out of stomach room to eat more! As if all this wasn't enough, Mike and Becky went out of their way to mail us the most thoughtful gift-- a baby boy outfit when they found out we were expecting a baby boy at our wedding. Mind you, this came literally two days after our wedding! We were blown away by their thoughtfulness and generosity. They exceeded all of our expectations and we would hire them again in a heartbeat for other big events in the future! What can I say besides: "deliciously organized perfection". We had a "wedding weekend" at our venue, and Becky and Mike were on top of it all, keeping everything on point with a smooth flow. Friday was our rehearsal and dinner, Saturday was the wedding, and Sunday was the post-wedding/mother's day brunch. We hired Mike and Becky to cater all three events, as well as bar-tend the wedding, and brunch. When we got engaged, we decided early which items to splurge on; for us that meant the venue and catering. We wanted everyone to enjoy themselves - our wedding was just as much for our guests, as it was for us, so we sat down together and started reading reviews. After reading much positive feedback, and a successful phone call or two, we decided on Chef's Table. They ended up exceeding our expectations at every juncture. As our planning continued, new vendors joined our team and each time, they would inquire about already selected vendors. Every time I mentioned Chef's Table, it was all compliments - we knew we had picked the right caterer. Tasting: We had our tasting at the venue, The Casitas Estates. We brought our parents with us because his parents are both in to high-end food, and mine are Chef's, and we knew their input would be highly valuable. Becky and Mike handled it well, addressed everyone's questions, and agreed to every "tweak" without complaint or hesitation. The tasting went smooth and easy; it was very productive. Brides: the tasting is a MUST - until you are there in person, experiencing all of the delectable offerings, you may never consider ways that would make it a tad more tasty, or see something that may need a little attention based on yours or your guests' needs. Plus, this is a crew you will be spending a lot of time so it's a great opportunity make sure you all blend well. Becky was very "user friendly". She was on top of every email I sent her, and even in instances where it was going to take her time to respond in-full, she would immediately let me know so I had realistic expectations. As a bride, you have so many moving pieces to contend with, so quick consistent responses are necessary and very much appreciated. Wedding Dinner: It was fabulous! Everything was served on time, all dishes went to the correct guest, and were prepared just as requested. Not one complaint, not one misplacement, no spills or disasters. They served five-star meals to all 53 of our guests all three days. They cooked, served, and bar-tended to their best. After asking our guests to travel to our venue (some from out of state), spending time and money on travel expenses and hotel accommodations, we thought the least we could do was to give them a few outstanding food-experiences to enjoy with refreshing cocktails, and that's exactly what Chef's Table gave us. All three meals were just fabulous, but the one meal that genuinely stood out was our brunch. I don't mean to imply that the dinner was not mind-blowing, it was a hit on all levels - each course was to die-for! But we had lower expectations about the brunch, naturally, and as such, we were surprised to find that we were as impressed with the quality and presentation of this meal. Brunch was set up beautifully; colorful and vibrant under the warm morning sun at the Casitas. Mike made homemade cinnamon buns in addition to the hand-selected menu, that our family and friends could not stop gushing about. Dessert: We wanted to find was a fun, creative dessert that was a departure from the norm, and OH BOY did Chef's Table make that happen. We had an assortment of desserts, but our flaming donuts display put on by Mike and His team took the cake (pun intended)! Could "Fabulously Outstanding" be an understatement!!?? Absolutely! Besides the fact that they were insanely delicious, the fiery show put on by the crew in making them was a delightful bonus. Free entertainment by our cooking crew? Um , yes please! It exited the crowd, and we strongly suggest going this route if you don't want the standard cake, and don't want to jump on the played-out cupcake train. Late Night Snack: This was the number-one talked about aspect of our about food service, possibly the entire wedding - sad in one way, LOL, great in another. EVERY family member and quest LOVED that we did this. I was planning along and attempting to consider all of the things I think about when I'm a guest at someones wedding, and one of the main reoccurring thoughts was this: after dessert is served, that's it. Guests are hopefully left buzzed, dancing, and laughing, sure, but also booze-hungry - now what, Taco Bell?? My husband I ended up trying to figure out how to address this need, so we ran a thought by Chef's Table about serving up some gourmet mini-grilled cheeses late-night!? I planned my sister's wedding at the Avila Beach Golf Resort, and am happy we selected Chef's Table. We ended up having 140 guests. Appetizers Our family loves appetizers, so we decided to have a longer cocktail hour with 6 appetizers! - stuffed mushrooms, mini ahi tacos, grilled vegetable sliders, pulled pork on cornbread with apple slaw, tomato soup shooters with grilled cheese, and fresh fruit skewers. Guests were all spread out during the cocktail hour but the servers successfully walked around the entire ground and offered appetizers to all. Main Meal The wedding couple wanted a more causal, fun feel for the wedding so went with a buffet. The main meal included: Spring Mix Salad with Strawberries, Feta Cheese and Candied Almonds Rustic Tomato Cucumber Salad Lemon Herb Chicken Breast Braised Short Ribs Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes Fresh Vegetable Medley Artisan Rolls and Butter The food was delicious!! The chicken and beef were warm and moist plus there were so many delicious vegetables. Chef Table's short ribs are truly special, and I can highly recommend them. There was plenty of food for everyone, and guests were able to make it through the buffet quickly. Vegan Option We had several vegetarians and vegans attend. It was great that we had a delicious meal for them as well - Zucchini Stuffed with Risotto, Walnuts, Spinach and Carrots with Tomato Sauce. Kids Meal The parents of kids, raved about how much their children loved the kids meal! The kids meal was mac and cheese, chicken fingers and fruit. Seems that the children ate their meals with gusto making it easy for the parents to enjoy their meal as well. The vegan and kids meals were served directly the guest at their table. Chefs Table did all of this accurately and timely. Overall Service What a great team! They arrived early to setup, offered all the food and beverage services when we wanted and had the whole place cleaned up on time! Love!! Chef's Table is a team you can count on to deliver.
