I am not sure where to even begin here with my gratitude. I own a local business that does several weddings so working with Kramer Events is nothing new to me-- I am also at lots of functions with Beau + Melissa personally and they are the kindest humans. I was putting on a Cookie Exchange here in Paso Robles and the person who I had scheduled to DJ + host a Photo Booth completely ghosted me a month out. Not only was this so disheartening to me personally, it was financially as well because I had zero budget for this event- it was break even. When I posted a shout out for help on a local wedding collab page Taylor replied back with pricing and I was like, I wish.... then the next day she told me that they were happy to donate. This not only saved me for the event but I cannot imagine not having them there that day-- our DJ was adorable- the perfect fit! She played great Christmas music the entire time and our Photos matched our invite/vibes perfectly. I was super impressed with all of the communication that I saw they would've sent out to potential couples as well-- since I only see them at events and don't typically need a DJ I don't really see this side of the business. It has taken me a long time to get to this review. My wedding was on June 7th in Solvang and this AV service really caused me a lot of stress. They were over an hour late and no one called me to let me know what was going on. I was getting ready for the service and neither us nor the coordinator could get a hold of anyone. This created so much stress for me while I was trying to get everything ready for my big moment, it led to a domino effect of challenges for that day. They had THREE videos to show at certain times during the entire night, that I had timed and worked on for months - and he only posted ONE. I actually still can't believe this happened. I never discussed it with them because I didnt want to overshadow the great time we ended up having but I think this should be known. read more

She had the perfect recommendations based on the type of event we were hosting and she asked all the right questions to get us the appropriate features and services. I recently got married and worked with DJ Tristan and he did an AMAZING job! We provided DJ Tristan some 'vibe' playlists to give him a sense of what we were going for during the Cocktail Hour and Dinner and he was SPOT ON! We love R&B and Hip Hop (both modern and old school) had so many guests compliment the music choices. During our design session, we told DJ Tristan that we wanted to have a 'romantic and elegant wedding that wasn't stuffy, and had a fun, high-energy reception' and almost all our guests said the wedding was 'elegant, romantic, fun and energetic' - and I attribute that so much to the awesome music! DJ Tristan was super flexible while we figured out our bridal party's grand entrances, and we ended up having one of the most fun grand entrances ever. Kramer Events collaborated with us to create the most AMAZING lighting installation for our Bride! She had a photo of what she wanted, and they made it 1000x better with their creative trussing solution! I was on site for the entire installation of the structure, and it was a super intricate process that took so much time, energy, dedication, and attention to detail from their team. We ended up needing to extend the structure by 10 feet, and they were incredibly accommodating with that last-minute change as well. TL;DR: My wedding was cancelled by my venue due to COVID. Kramer Events is the ONLY vendor that would not refund my deposit. I had planned a wedding in the SLO area for September 2020. As we all know, hosting a large wedding reception was actually not allowed by the county government at that time. I had made a $200 non-refundable deposit with Kramer Events to reserve one of their DJs for my wedding. Given I was unable to have my wedding and the event was completely cancelled by our venue, ALL of the other vendors I had hired and worked with issued my refunds on "non-refundable deposits" without hesitation. However, I'm disappointed to share that Kramer Events would not allow a refund. While they did say that I could use this $200 as a "credit" toward DJ services in the next year (ha ha, we STILL may not be able to have our wedding before 9/2021), I shared that this was a destination wedding and it was incredibly unlikely I would have a need for DJ services in the SLO area in that timeline (or ever). It's true that businesses are hurting, but people and families are hurting too. I find it unconscionable to insist on hanging onto someone's deposit when the cancellation was not in their control and no services were rendered. Other than that, Melissa was very responsive and was nice to work with prior to COVID-19 being an issue. read more

They were patient when it came to our busy lives and found all the song choices we wanted for the cocktail hour/guest arrival/reception. Our DJ Conor was absolutely amazing- he is a pro and exceeded our expectations! Dj's are super important at weddings and Conor was the best choice! We worked with Kramer Events for our wedding on May 2018, which included DJ and MC services and LED uplighting. This was a wedding at La Cuesta Ranch. Our DJ and MC was a dynamic duo of Lou and Dustin. This review is about Lou and Dustin as well as the process of getting to our wedding day. Overall, we would highly recommend. One of the best decisions we've made. They made our wedding exciting, fun, and memorable. For our initial exploratory meeting, we met with Melissa at Kramer Events' offices. Everywhere you look you are reminded of how many weddings they have done over the years. Not to mention, there was free booze. Melissa explained the various packages and answered our questions. Once the event agreement is finalized, you are provided with your own dedicated planning portal where you are asked to provide information about the wedding for planning purposes. It was a lot of work, but these forms helped us think through certain aspects of the wedding that we would have never thought of. About two months before the wedding, we met with Lou for a design session at Kramer Events' offices, which our wedding coordinator joined. This was helpful because it connected the dots. Lou was great at explaining how everything will go, answering our questions, and making adjustments to the timeline. He played all of the songs that we had planned for reception, grand entrance, as well as any must-plays. There are these speakers in the room, so I was pretty sure everyone in the office could hear our songs. It felt like a true design session. The day of, everything went as expected. We were warned prior that Lou has a way of making weddings a lot of fun and without a doubt, Lou and Dustin rocked it. They knew exactly what they needed to do, when they needed to do it, and did it very well. They also were very good at reading the crowd and adjusting. We've had several guests very positive comments on Lou and Dustin. "One of the best DJ duos" was a common comment. read more

Kramer provided the lighting, photo booth, photography, and DJ for our wedding. My sister was married in Paso Robles a few years ago, and she gave them her highest recommendation, so we chose them for our wedding. Our DJ, Lou Mars, was great! We forwarded him a list of songs we liked, and he picked up our musical taste and created the DJ set accordingly. We've had multiple compliments on our DJ and the musical selection. Also, prior to the wedding, he stated that if there were any changes he needed to make on the fly, he would check with us first. It turns out, we did have to make a few changes at the reception, and he made sure to get our approval before changing things. For me, the best thing Lou did was call us before the wedding to make a timeline as to how the ceremony and reception would go. I know my fiancee at the time and I were overwhelmed by the whole wedding process and all the things we needed to do, but once he talked us through the wedding day schedule, we realized that we had done 95% of what we needed to do. It allowed us to enjoy the week leading up to the wedding instead of stressing about how behind we were. The photographer, Patrick Ybarra, was also awesome. He worked with us even though we were a little disappointed the weather at our wedding was foggy. He pointed out that the fog made the pictures look amazing, because everyone's faces would be evenly lit. He was also very encouraging while we were taking the pictures, and the pictures he uploaded for the reception were awesome (even though they hadn't been edited yet). We are looking forward to seeing our official wedding pictures, and we are confident they will be incredible. Even with the unedited pictures, we were getting lots of compliments from our guests at how great they looked. Also, we note that unlike A LOT of wedding photographers, they weren't intrusive during the wedding and reception. I know when I'm a guest at a wedding, it can be a little distracting to see the wedding photographers disrupting the ceremony by being so close to the action. Even though they weren't all up in our grill, they still got great pictures of us. The photo booth was fine. We didn't notice any problems with the photo booth or the pictures it took. Like my sister at her wedding, my bride and I were completely satisfied with how professional Kramer was in all aspects of the wedding. If you choose Kramer, you will not be disappointed. read more

Kramer Events is simply the only way to go for weddings. I can be pretty indecisive but also picky and Lou took the two songs we knew we wanted and a vague outline for our day and turned it into an incredible and unforgettable party. All of the music was, what we requested and what he chose, was perfect and fun- Lou really keeps the party going! We also had their mirror photo booth which was the perfect touch. It was tons of fun for the guests and was a great take-away for the guests. I also loved that we got to take home a flash drive with ALL of the photos taken that evening. read more

I feel like I owe everyone at Kramer Events an all-expense paid vacation for all they did to make our wedding and reception perfecto! We asked for a DJ and the Photo Booth..and for some cool reason, she added on lighting for free! It all started with Melissa..emails back and forth, she was ON IT! Once we finally met, her vibrant personality and offerings of wine as we discussed our event completely solidified my confidence in her. Then we got a chance to meet Lou, our DJ...we first met via Facetime to discuss the playlist, which he stuck to for the whole time and knew when to switch things up! He was AMAZING at reading the crowd! Not only did Lou stick to our fave tunes, but he helped pace the reception for us, which I didn't even realize I needed till he would remind me of the next milestone of the day. I LOVED that and I am forever grateful for his guidance! We had a photo booth too and they provided us with a book of photos with folk's messages to us..it was super cute! I kinda wish the photo booth attendant was as vibrant as Lou and Melissa, but she just kinda stood there and my mom & cousins had to encourage folks to give it a try so that more folks took more photos. Still, it was cool to have and once folks did take photos and put on masks and props, it was a hit! Re: the special lighting... In the smaller room where the dancing was set up, the lighting went off perfect.. However, in the larger room for dinner, I saw the lighting set up but it didn't show up well so, we had the venue dim the main lights but, it still didn't show up very well. I wish I had known that ahead of time, as I really wanted the room to be purple-bluish all night but, it wasn't. Also I didn't need the spotlights I got for each table after all due to this lighting mix up. I blame this on my own ignorance to how the lighting would work. Consider they preview it for you in a room lined with white linen and no lights, you might want to check and see how this will tie into your venue so your expectations are met. I've never thrown an event like my wedding & reception, but best believe I made the best choice when I called upon Kramer Events for help..they really take care of EVERYTHING!! read more

Due to the world wide pandemic and state regulations we had to cancel our wedding day, and Kramer Events was the ONLY vendor that didn't refund our money. The rest of our vendors that had us signed the non refundable agreement indeed refunded us as we had no control over the situation. Everyone is hurting yes, as we all have families to feed but to be fair and reasonable at least half of the deposit should have been returned if not all was possible. With that being said i will not recommend this vendor to anyone and i will make sure my family and friends dont contact them in the future. So disappointing read more

We are in the midst of planning a wedding in SLO from up here in Oakland. And even with Yelp at hand, it's been a challenge to find enough feedback about local vendors to make decisions from afar. Luckily, we came across rave reviews of Kramer Ent. from a number of different sources. After our first meeting with our DJ, Melissa, I can say that I have full confidence that our party will rock. I'll have to update my review after our big day, but already, Melissa has exceeded our expectations - with suggestions about other local vendors, insider local tips we never would have thought of. She has even helped me find a place to get my hair done! Plus, Kramer provides a really useful workbook that helps you figure out what sort of mood you want for your event, a timeline to help you plan out the day's events, and can even help keep the other vendors organized during the event. We don't have a wedding coordinator, so I know it will be a huge relief to have Melissa behind the scenes making sure our day runs smoothly and sounds great! read more

I was pretty pleased with my experience with Kramer for my wedding at The Madonna Inn in July. My favorite part of the experience was their online planning website. I thought it was so great how you could go in and list all your songs for each part of your wedding, and I really enjoyed the "timeline" function that helped me to plan everything out. It was such an organized and easy process. Melissa, their coordinator, was always very nice and helpful via e-mail. She generally replied back to me quite promptly answering any of my questions & when we told her that we couldn't be up in the area for the "planning session" she made sure we could speak with our DJ via Skype 2 weeks before the wedding. The reception went quite smoothly on their part. Jesse, our MC, was very friendly and helpful. I did not really have any interaction with his "helper". The girl running the photo booth was nice as well, although after I got the photo booth disk back I saw how many of the pictures SHE was in. I thought that was a little odd that she would be in so many of MY wedding pictures since she wasn't my guest, but I guess some of the single guys were hitting on her or something & she was willing to oblige LOL. All of their equipment and lighting seemed great to me & the flow of the evening was great. They really stuck to my timeline. The photo booth was one of the high lights of the evening, everyone LOVED it. I definitely recommend it. I think it's a BIT expensive, but it's definitely a crowd pleaser...they have some pretty funny props. There were 2 reasons Kramer got a 4 instead of a 5 from me: 1. The price they wanted to charge me for ONE mic (for my officiant) for the ceremony was absolutely outrageous. They wanted $350 to give her a mic with a simple speaker. I thought that sucked since they were there ANYWAYS setting up for the reception. After spending almost 3 grand with them, I think that service should have been included...we didn't even need them for any music for the ceremony, I took care of all that. 2. Towards the end of the reception the DJ started playing a lot of songs that WERE NOT on our play list. Mostly hispanic music which my husband nor I were fans of at all...in fact we really dislike that kind of music. I think some of my guests were drunk and requesting it, but Kramer's big thing is how FIRM they are on not taking un-wanted requests from guests that I was a little bothered he was playing that stuff when he hadn't played all of our requested music yet. It wasn't a huge deal, but I was a bit perturbed about it...hence the -1 star. I'm sure if I would have told him to stop he would have, but I just never made it up there. All in all, I was pretty pleased with my experience and would probably recommend Kramer. I thought they were a bit pricey, but hey...it was a wedding, what did I expect? read more
