DJ was supposed to show up to the reception dinner he never did (assuming because we paid the service in full the day prior). We had 2 phone calls and multiple email exchanges to get expectations clear and he did the complete opposite of what we wanted. I spent a year putting together our playlist along with choreographed dances all we needed him to do was to play the playlist in the order it was in our Spotify. He played songs out of the list as well as mixing the order throughout the entire night amid our reminders. My entrance to the ceremony was also wrongly timed. I feel so unhappy about the service that even at my honeymoon I stress about how something so straightforward went wrong. Music and dance was big part of our wedding as well as our culture and remembering it all going wrong really makes me extremely sad. This is the biggest regret I have from my wedding. read more

I was SO extremely disappointed with this DJ at my wedding. When my (now) husband and I had met with him a few months before the wedding, he seemed charismatic, fun, and truly interested in his profession and clients. We provided him with a timeline of events so he would know when to introduce what, and to basically keep the flow of the wedding going. The day of we both wondered what happened to the charismatic guy we had met a few months earlier. On our special day, he seemed bored, unprofessional, and failed to keep the flow going whatsoever. The garter toss/bouquet toss never happened because he never bothered to announce it, though it was clearly stated in the timeline of events that it should occur after the cake cutting. I received many comments from my 60+ guests that he was "one of the worst DJs they had ever experienced at a wedding." Not exactly the kind of thing you want to hear when you carefully choose a DJ for your special day. Music, dancing, flow... those were all high on my priority list. Not to mention, he began packing up before the end time that was listed on the contract and my dad had to tell him to keep playing or else he would be getting dinged. When it was time to pay, he attempted to overcharge, but thankfully my dad had a copy of the contract that was signed by both parties. I would not recommend Laptop Symphony to ANYONE, nor would ANY of the guests at my wedding. Totally, utterly embarrassing. read more

We don't currently reside in the Central Coast so it was important for us to find vendors who were flexible, able to answer our questions in a timely manner, and make us feel comfortable. The first impression was made over the phone by Mark Gonzales, and the passion and charisma definitely showed! After having all the right answers to our questions ranging from music choices, to interactions with guests, to master of ceremonies, we had to book right away! A helpful timeline/itinerary was provided by Mark that outlined all the music for: the ceremony, grand entrance, first dance, parent dances, cocktail hour, dinner, money dance and general dancing. It was a lot to think about, but we asked for Mark's suggestions on music for the procession portion of the ceremony and he definitely delivered! In addition, we needed his help with providing a template of our monogram, because what we had in mind just wasn't working. So he provided a website for us to go off of and from there we made a decision on what to use. Additionally, we wanted our grand entrance to be something special, something we customized, and I am sure Mark had his work cut out for him. We wanted separate songs played for our parents and sponsors, for our ring bearer and flower girls, for each groomsmen and bridesmaid pair, and of course a separate song for us, the bride and groom. Mark made it work and he did it without question! It was also a big hit during our wedding. Everyone loved it! Before the day our wedding we met with Mark three times. Our First face to face meeting was a couple of months before our wedding. We made a trip to the central coast and set up a time to meet Mark at the venue, The Cypress Ridge Pavilion. We also met his sweet assistant, Taylor. He wanted to scope out the venue and take notes of where to set up all of his equipment. He definitely wanted to be ready for our wedding day. On the second meeting was the week of the wedding, we met to pay the balance and go over last minute questions and clarifications. Again, Mark was super nice and had great attention to detail. It was a short meeting and he also mentioned that he wanted to be at our wedding rehearsal that friday. We definitely didn't expect him to be there, but the fact that he wanted to showed yet again showed much he wanted to make sure everything went according to plan. The third meeting he showed up at our wedding rehearsal with the monogram and at that time we were able to decide where to place it on the day of our wedding. I am glad he did, because we originally planned for it to be displayed on the fireplace and then we decided to have it placed on the opposite wall. Since he was there for the rehearsal, we were also able to rehearse our grand entrance. These were all things taken care of before our wedding day and we were so happy we got it all taken care of before the wedding! On the day of our wedding, Mark was very professional as our MC and our DJ. He played all the songs on our list during cocktail hour, during dinner and kept the party going on the dance floor. Let's just say the dance floor was packed all the way up until the last song. Mark was not stationary MC standing near the DJ booth, he was interactive. He even took it upon himself to personally go up to each table, and dismiss them for dinner. Mark was a key helper in keeping our wedding on schedule. The music and sound quality during the ceremony was perfect. There was no cutting in and out. This was consistent throughout the night. The uplighting was perfectly set up inside the pavilion and the monogram was the icing on the cake. The setup of where Mark had his equipment was never in the way. Joey and I were so grateful to have Mark there for us every step of the way, leading up to our wedding day! All of our friends and family definitely complimented on how professional and nice Mark was at our wedding. His effort to help make everything go smoothly on our wedding day showed!
