Best nail salon I've ever been to, anywhere. I used to live in St. Louis and never found a nail salon I liked. On a visit to St. Louis last week I needed a gel manicure so I made an appointment (walk-ins are discouraged) at Tints Polish ($45, and the price is inclusive of tip). The ambience is fantastically tasteful. Small settees for manicures. Tall wingback chairs for pedicures. LED lights instead of UV to bake the gel polish. No annoying TVs. Jazz standards playing on the sound system. A quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Alexis did an excellent job and was super professional; I highly recommend her. The only disappointment in this place is that I can't return regularly since I live in California now. But if you're lucky enough to live in St. Louis, Tints Polish should be your nail salon. read more

I wanted to try this place out while I was in town from Chicago visiting my sister. They advertise walk ins but when we got there, we stood awkwardly at the front while no one greeted us. There was no front desk area so we didn't know what to do. Finally someone came up and told us that there wasn't anything open for the day. I thought she came off pretty rude in her tone and when we got to the car my sister mentioned that she felt self conscious that the woman was looking at her strange, making us feel unwelcome. It's located in a more posh neighborhood and we weren't dressed to the nines so perhaps that's why. I won't be attempting to try this place again. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Been getting my nails done here since 2017, it's sooo cute and chic, I love the european pricing system since it's what I grew up with and everyone there is sooo nice. Some other places have trimmed my toe nails like they would for women's nails being painted, with the white part (lunula) being uneven on the edges; but here they trim right, do a great job with calluses and also get any ingrown toe nails! Today was my first time visiting this salon and the experience was amazing. They offered me coffee while I got my nails done and what I love best is that when you walk in it doesn't have the smell of a nail salon. The ventilation from all the polish is excellent. I've been here a few times for regular and gel manicures. The store is small, but sunny and well designed. After going a few times, it's clear the target client would be someone who values quality manicures/pedicures, has around an hour (or more) of down time, and is willing to go alone for their regular polish application -based on the setup and capacity. The ambiance is bright and quiet with soft music. Complimentary infused water and coffee are available, but I wouldn't say this is a spa. It feels like a professional nail boutique. The manicures, especially the gel, last longer than average. Gel manicures last at least two weeks, and, for me, the first, tiny chip appeared after three weeks. The surfaces are clean and seem to be kept clean after each client. The gel polish is unusual. I haven't seen it in other places. What strikes me the most is the precision and focus of the techs throughout the manicure. They have technique... The quality is consistent. The owner is present all the times I've been there and likes to double check the tech's work. Attention is paid to the gel polish, but also to the cuticles and cuticle growth as it may cause the gel to peel during the two week guarantee. The staff are professional, quiet, and seem to know what they're doing. It seems like there has been an increase in volume, especially on Saturday. So, I try to avoid crowding and go on the weekdays. Tints is amazing in many ways. The owner's philosophy of elevating the profession by paying the nail artists a dependable wage and charging the clientele a flat fee should not be revolutionary, but it is. I got a wonderful pedicure in white which is a difficult color to work with and it is lovely and has lasted. They treated my elderly mother with respect And patience. Because of the pay structure, the team all works together to care for the clientele. We will be back. read more

I had a great experience at Tints Polish. The space is absolutely beautiful. You do not feel like you are in a typical nail salon. They offer customers wine/coffee/water, which is a nice little treat. I had a gel manicure done, and they were so thorough. My nails were shaped perfectly and the polish looks amazing. Had the best experience at Tints! I had been wanting to try out the Salon for months and it did not disappoint. Beautiful space, very friendly and accommodating staff and an outstanding selection of polishes. Very clean and the final result was a gorgeous manicure I can't stop looking at. $25 for a standard manicure - it's been awhile so I thought maybe I was out of the loop and this was standard pricing. Nope. Everywhere else I looked was $35 for a basic manicure. They also do not accept tips! Crazy surprise but a delightful treat. Unfortunately, I have to leave a bad review about the horrible experience I've had with this "business". I made an appt for my sister to get a mani/pedi for her bridal shower today and I paid in advance. Her best friend also made an appt but did not prepay. They had hair appts prior to the nail appts and the hair salon was busy so ran behind making them late to the nail appt. They were 15 minutes late and the owners refused to take their appointments. Which is totally fine and they are allowed to do so however, my sister asked for me to be refunded and they also refused. When I called and asked why I was being charged the full amount for the late show she said she was charging me 50% late fee for both appointments. Even though I had only paid and was responsible for one. To me this is fraud. She is using my card to pay for someone else's services. There is nowhere on their website that states they have a late fee, there was nowhere in the confirmation email that there was a late fee and when I presented this she said "it's my business I can do what I want". If I had not paid in advance she would not have been able to take money from me. When I asked if she gave them a courtesy call (had her friends number from her appt) she said no because she didn't have to. Also, I called to change the appt time after I made the initial appt because I was afraid they would be late and she said it shouldn't be a problem because they were located nearby. She did not state at that time either that there was a late fee policy. I'm not sure how this is a good business practice whatsoever. Yes they were late so don't keep the appt but I don't understand how she can keep my money if that was not a policy stated anywhere. I'm severely disappointed. I am also a business owner and to me if I knew it was someone's bridal shower I would have at least offered to perform one of their services. She also suggested I call the hair salon and ask them to pay me since they were why they were late. This is absolutely unacceptable and horrible business practices. read more

They do a really great job. The salon is super clean, quiet and decorated really cute- far more modern and minimalist than the standard nail salon. Love that tip is already included in the flat price and that multiple people take turns doing each part of the mani/pedi so it's team effort. I was looking for a place nearby my gym and found this place on Yelp. So glad I came in. I came in at 4:30pm and asked for a pedicure and gel polish removal. They didn't make me feel bad about coming in so close to their 5pm closing time- like most other salons would. The gel polish removal was free! She even filed my nails because one of them was broken. They offer good brands and colors. The foot massage during my pedicure was heavenly. And the decor was cute to boot. This is definitely my new go to spot. read more

I walked in at 11am on a Wednesday, and although there was only one customer, I was told they were booked solid. I was not offered the option to make an appointment at another time, so I left. It was a disappointing experience, especially after hearing so many glowing reviews. I understand if the book was full but the attitude was completely dismissive and I doubt I'll return. Super professional employees with great customer service skills + incredibly clean and serene environment. The awesome decor is also SUPER comfortable. I wanted to rave about this place, and even planned on buying gift cards for others to come here, but all that glitters isn't gold. It's a pretty salon that is staffed by mostly inexperienced nail techs who are still in their 'apprentice' stage. (I have a nail tech license and it is clear to me exactly what level they are at). I honestly kept returning because it borrowed aesthetically from the salons in more cosmopolitan metropoles (LA, DC, NY), which are typically beautifully-decorated, have high-end polishes, and serve spa water & wine. But after going several times, I realized that these features just could not make up for the poor performance of the nail techs. In the times that I've come, I've experienced my nails being filed to completely different shapes, polish all over my skin at the end of a service (The nail tech told me to just take a shower and it would fall off!), a bloody cut from a nervous tech who has not quite 'mastered' using cuticle nippers, and services that take twice as long as they do in other salons because the techs have not been doing this long enough to build up speed and efficiency. I have experienced good service from one tech, and decent service from another, but unfortunately there seems to be no way to book them directly. Last time I asked, I was given a 'junior' nail tech anyway! Also, the salon number is a Google number, and they often don't answer the phone, so the booking experience is unprofessional overall. Five stars for excellent customer service, a peaceful and hip ambience, and for a great job on my nails. I scheduled two mani/pedis for my daughter and I, but when we arrived our appointments were not in the system. The manager realized it was their mistake, so we rescheduled for later in the day. My daughter and I had amazing gel manicure and regular pedicures here. The service is impeccable and the salon is spotless.
