I've been coming to tint world for a few years now. They use to be located in Morgan Hill and recently moved to Gilroy, which makes it closer to home and way more convenient. I've always had a great experience with Xan and the crew. Xan is amazing, very informative, tells it how it is and prices services fair. I had a nice sub laying around and had Xan install it with a new amp, wiring and detailing package. Everything was perfect. So happy with the work and results. Now the family car will have some great bass. Thanks guys for all your awesome hard work. And for anyone looking for an all in one spot for your ride, look no further. read more

I just got my two front windows tinted on my 2024 Tesla. Javier helped me today & did the tint himself. Michael gave me the consult & even waited for me to come by after 6PM on a weekday. He explained to me the different types of tint and material they use. I left confident in knowing which one I wanted to purchase. I inquired on a Wednesday and a few days later got scheduled to come in. If you're looking for a place with great value, I would recommend coming to Gilroy Tint World. Great customer service & I love my new windows. I can already feel the difference with less heating coming in. Thank you Gilroy Tint World! Definitely coming back to get the PPF on my car. read more

Mike, explain everything that I needed to know about the tint on my f-150. I would definitely recommend this shop for anyone looking at getting their cars tinted. read more

This place used to be my Go-To to recommend people to get their car tinted. I went recently to go get the car I just bought tinted and I'm not sure if they hired a new employee or what but there is multiple scratches on my window. Not sure if it's on the tint or the Glass. Multiple noticeable bubbles along the edges. DO NOT GO HERE. They need to pay more attention to who they hire. read more

My windows were finished relatively fast without skipping out on the attention to detail! Looks amazing! Fair prices too! The customer service was great! Jailene and the new owner are great people and super helpful! 10/10 recommend. I will be going back read more

Pricing is on the high end. Workmanship is mediocre. I've had two cars done here. Similar experience both times. I went back a second time because I was impatient to get the tint done and, also, the other shops I contacted could not do the rear window as a single panel. Customer service is great. Packages are simple to understand. It's just the installation that's a let down. Lots of blemishes in both my tints, though the first one was better. Note I'm not referring to just air bubbles (though I have those). Lots of small creases in the tint as well, like someone was rushing it. The other thing that bugged me this last time was the sloppiness of the job; not the tint itself, but things like water stains on the rear deck panel, water stains on the glass at the rear brake light, water stains on all the door panels. Some were easy to clean, others not so much. There's also a scratch on the exterior of the rear window that runs the entire perimeter of the window, presumably from cutting the tint panel to fit, as if someone was pressing too hard with the blade. I took my first car back to have things corrected. Again customer service was good, but the corrective work resulted in further damage to my car (for example, the installer cut through the factory darkened area on the rear glass so you could see slight scratches when looking from the outside). This time I didn't go back. Don't want to risk further damage. For the price they are charging, the tint should be *flawless*. I've had tints done with no air bubbles on day one. You'll see from the other reviews that air bubbles are common and people are told they will just go away. This is "technically" true, but it's a result of sloppy and/or inexperienced installers, it's not actually "fact of life" when having tinting done. read more

I am writing this correspondence to you as my husband and I are beyond upset on how this whole situation has transpired with Tint World - Gilroy with Frank Helmand. If yelp would let me, I would have given this location Zero Stars. The level of customer service or lack of customer service that we received specifically from Frank Helmand is a very bad reflection of Tint World as a company and business. Frank was very friendly at our initial interaction when trying to close the sale but was extremely unprofessional and condescending throughout the rest of our tint service experience. What was supposed to be a 2 and a half hour job took 4 days to resolve. It has now been more than 10 days and I am noticing that the tint job does have some sections that I am not satisfied with as there are jagged edges versus straight line cuts and I would like to have them redone. However, I am reluctant and apprehensive to return to Tint World Gilroy as I do not want to work with any Tint World corporate or franchise location that is affiliated with Frank Helmand. read more

I find it ironic that the text-field to start our Yelp reviews starts with some helpful text from Yelp suggesting your "wait to go to this business was worth it because they follow Covid protocols". Not in this case. Where are the MASKS!???? I went in here a week after calling ahead, and talking to a gentleman (not sure who) who mentioned their Covid protocols and to bring a mask. When I showed up a week later (with mask, of course), Xan (sp?), and another lady, and the tech working on cars, and every single customer who came in, had no mask on. One unmasked customer ahead of me was just jawing away at the other lady (again, no mask), over the computer (less than 6 feet away), and reached out and helped himself to some hand-sanitizer. Why bother, at that point? The PPF job was OK. The job was: applying some PPF cut from templates, so, there are seams and such, I don't expect miracles, but I am not going back for any adjustments if there are issues, that's for sure. The employees being nice and friendly does not negate the public health risk of not following basic safety protocol. Just to get it straight one more time, folks: Masks are not to protect you from Covid. A Mask is not "your prerogative to wear --its your health--your body"....They are to protect us from YOUR Covid! It is OUR health you are protecting. A mask is a sneeze guard. You talk too much, sing, spray, cough, wipe your hands on your nose or mouth and touch my car....we all get your Covid. Even if we wear a mask... because your hands touched your face, and I touched that surface and missed a bit with my hand sanitizer. Your talking too close to me and spraying, covers my clothes. Once the job was done I had to sterilize my brand-new leather steering wheel, the shifter, all the knobs and then wipe them clean and apply leather conditioner to my now-bleached leather. Would have done it anyway, but I was also truly afraid of turning on the A/C as I was driving away, because of the possibility of airborne particles stuck in the HVAC due to the lack of masks from the entire crew. I know I should have just turned around and walked out when I saw the scene, but was unaware there were so many choices for PPF and tint in town. Last time I patronize a shop that does not respect other's health. read more

Ridiculous. So many flaws in my window tint after paying an arm and a leg. The new hires suck at their job. Will not be coming back

Nice people, big selection of tints coupled with education that greatly helps with decisions. Cute dog in the lobby.

Very sub par tint job on my new car so unfortunately they get 1 star. After showing up for my 1st appointment the guy at the front tells me that "I" had called earlier and cancelled my appt. hmmm nope! I'm guessing they overbooked? So at this point they give me a new appointment for a week later. I knew I shouldn't have gone back to them but I did and I regret it. There are dirt/ particles stuck under the tint all along the bottom of my back window causing small bubbles that look real bad. They offered to redo it but I'd rather not have them touch my car again. I will have to take off the tint and have it redone at a more professional shop. read more

I ended up going with the middle (supreme) tint package with 18% on the back windows, 30% on the front two, and 70% on the windshield. I can still see everything great at night and it keeps my car so cool. The packages are super affordable and they give you helpful tips too. We got a same day appointment to have two front windows tinted. The staff gave us good advice on what film to use. The job was completed in less than an hour. I brought my 2019 Tesla Model 3 in for a chrome delete. I was expecting professional service with people that knew what they were doing. The manager talked me out of doing a chrome delete on partial of my mirrors.. that should have been the red flag that he knew his staff couldn't do the job correctly. However, he gave me a discounted price at $600.. another red flag that I should have paid attention to. But for $500-600 cheaper than the competition I went for it. I picked up the car after it was done in a few hours. I noticed some bubbles and nothing major. But I didn't look close enough. After returning home and looking more closely at it the next day. My rear triangle windows were all jagged looking... they had destroyed the window stripping!!! It was completely cut up. Not only that but there was chrome showing in so many different locations... horrible work. I took my car to a Tesla certified repair shop to estimate the damage they caused... it was almost $900. I filed a complaint to my credit card and requested a refund. Tint world denied it. Months later.. the product has peeled off and is no longer on my vehicle. I would sue this company but why bother. I'd rather write an honest review about why you should avoid this store at all costs. So funny thing is. This store used to be in Morgan Hill. Another red flag.. and poor installation story. I had brought my 2020 Ford Fusion in for window tint on all my windows. It took them a shorter than expected time to get them done. I let the windows cure as instructed... after that point I rolled the windows down. The tint on each window was at different positions and was showing up to an inch of the stock glass! It was a leased vehicle so I didn't care so much. It's no wonder they moved from Morgan Hill to Gilroy. But again. I would avoid this company at all costs. read more

This review is currently for the lack of communication on our car at the shop getting the rims powder coated. We left the car there last Monday, called over the weekend to check the status and was told it would be done today at the latest. We called a couple times to be told "they don't know the status of our car" and are waiting for 1 guy by the name of Ignacio? to call them back. Impatiently waiting and not a single person in that shop can give us an answer? It doesn't sit easy with me when a business is not being proactive on getting back to me promptly. Is this is only way to get someone to respond? Will we be compensated a discount for the inconvenience? What is the status of our car?? read more

The sub-woofer in my car stopped working, called Tint World, and told him what was going on. He told me to bring it in and they would check it out. As soon as I got there he immediately started running some tests. He thought it was the Amp, so while I waited they pulled the Amp to see if it was bad. They found a wire that was shorting out. They repaired the wire, put everything back together and it worked like a charm. All this was done without an appointment and while I waited. The price was very fair and the service was excellent. Great business that's well deserving of a 5 star review. I will definitely recommend Tint World to all of my family and friends. Great job thank you !!!! read more

Very unprofessional and rude. Completely ignores all COVID advisories and precautions.

Having recently bought a new car, a tint was my immediate first upgrade. I live in Morgan hill and while I may have been able to find a cheaper deal in SJ, I opted for the convenience of getting my tint done locally. I went with the ultimate package and don't regret it at all. I thought about getting the supreme but figured may as well go for the top of line. Ironically the guy who paid before me got almost the same percentage tint as me and in the supreme package and it looked great! But still no regrets. I went with a split look, even though my preference has always been the same percentage all the way around. I got 35% in the front and 18% in the rear and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. It actually doesn't look split at all which I love and it still looks dark. It helps I have dark interior too. Product quality looks great, and service was great too. They quoted me about 2 hours and it actually took a little longer but I'd rather have them take longer to ensure there's no mistakes. I waited there and Mark offered me a ride to get some lunch, which I appreciated. If you have to wait, tennant station is about a 3 minute walk and you can grab some food. I unfortunately didn't get the name of the guy who tinted my car but he was awesome, super professional, apologized multiple times for taking longer but I know he was meticulous and it shows. He let come view the car after it was done, walk it and point out anything I wanted for him to fix if needed. All-around good guy and I'm glad I brought my business here. Thanks guys! read more
