What a place to let Your imagination soar! I brought my toddler who I wasn't sure about bringing. Although she was too young for some aspects she found a way to have fun for 3 hours straight and still didn't wanT to leave! She enjoyed the cardboard fort the most but she Tried and enjoyed most of the centers. The doll house was right up her ally but she also enjoyed making some crafts to take home. We can't wait to have some play dates here with friends. Be in the look out for their mommy and me class they are starting soon. Found this great place for kids to be entertained, use their imagination, be creative and scientific all at the same time! They've got all these different sections for activities, like stop motion animation, crafts, building, and more. I took my nieces who are 10 and 12 and they loved it. We were there for almost 3 hours and they thought only 30 minutes had gone by, they didn't want to leave. Tinkerspace is full of resources and ideas for self-directed play and imaginations. I appreciate Kathleen's fun projects as well as the freedom for children to explore, think, and experiment. If you have a child who loves doing art and creative work, this is a place for him/her to enjoy and get inspired. There are plenty of art and craft materials that you can try your hand on as well as toys and puzzles for you to try. It is a great children's museum. Wow! This was just the funnest afternoon for my two kids and I (kids ages 7 & 9). We loved absolutely everything from making crafts, to stop motion, to the magnetic wall/ball drop, to the cardboard forts. We cannot wait to come back and craft again soon! Kathleen was so helpful and also gave the kids plenty of space to explore and problem-solve on their own (which I love). The atmosphere was lovely (perfect temperature with pleasant background music). Very covid safe and comfortable! This was very fun for me too - a perfect Mother's Day weekend activity! It's like the best parts of Kidspace Children's Museum, only way more local to where I live in Claremont. Tons of crafts, fort building, and learning-oriented activities offered in a mix of child-directed play and educator-directed exercises (science experiments, workshops, etc. -- the staff is so great!). My 5 and 2 year old are a little below the target age but they can do so much and they are so entertained--I can't wait until they're old enough for stop motion and LEGO Robotics. I'm really excited for my first summer spent cooling off doing creative indoor activities (yay air conditioning!!!) with minimal clean up for Mom (DOUBLE YAY!!!). I wish I were the Mom that saves all the paper towel rolls for crafts, that has endless patience for legos and crazy cardboard fort-building. I see the benefit of these activities, and I was so thrilled when I learned about TinkerSpace: it's all here and then some! The admission is totally worth it for the quality of play and craft materials, but if you're local I think the membership is a bargain--you just can't find good places for unstructured creative play. My kids do more creative activities in one hour at TinkerSpace than they do in a whole week at home, and they get to bring home their beautiful creations! read more

Kathleen was so welcoming and friendly, we wandered in curious what we would find, we were visiting from out of town with our toddler, and as new parents we are still learning how to travel with our kids and try to find fun things to do with them while away from home. There was so much to see and explore, the place inspires creativity and is so organized and clean. Our only regret is that we didn't arrive earlier in the day, we came right before closing and were the only ones there, and Kathleen made sure we had a great time and never made us feel rushed. She setup some water colors and made a little project with our son, which he really enjoyed. We are grateful for the experience and recommend you visit with your kids too. read more

This is a great place to take your kids for arts and craft I took my 6 year old son and he really enjoyed himself. He made a dinosaur and a house which he took home. The owner (sorry I can't remember her name) was very helpful and makes this place a worth while trip. She helped in giving ideas as to our projects and showed us what to do at each of the stations. This was a great place for us to spend the afternoon on a rainy day. The kids had a blast and so did the adults!

This place was really cute and was a really good idea in theory, however in practice, I think the owner may be a little too particular about the way things need to be put away or how certain ages cannot use certain toys despite there being no signs about these "rules". I think this place definitely lean more toward an older kid crowd or neurotypical children, so my ADHD child and their similarly hyperactive friend got scolded a few times by the owner for taking certain tools into rooms that they were apparently not supposed to be in (again there being no signs regarding these rules) and having more than one toy out at the same time. For my kid, they like playing with cars on top of a built Lego course or random tower they built or using a "tool" they made while building their box home, so the "one thing at a time" rule is more of a bummer than something fun. I understand it reduces the mess left behind by kids, but the rules seem a bit too rigid. read more

We have had all around positive experiences here. I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old. They played for a couple of hours easy on a rainy day when we wandered in. My son went straight for lego robotics and my daughter played with the doll house, parking garage. Both eventually found other activities. My Son and I first heard about Tinkerspace from the S.T.E.A.M. fair at the Fairplex in early 2019. Immediately my child fell in love with the activities here. My first review on yelp becuase I was so appalled at how much relief I felt when I left this place. Honestly it is sad to say because I love seeing my kiddos being creative, for their sake I might be willing to go again. That being said I was having a play date and everything was fine at first kids were roaming and exploring. We started on project together but kids wanted to explore which I was fine with because this is a new place and I didn't expect them to stay in one spot the whole time. My friend and I continued working on the kiddos project while they explored and we were catching up and the lady in charge did not seem to like that. The lady heard one of the kids say "get out" to one of our kids within our circle of friends. She voiced to my friend and I that we still need to supervise our children. I was confused for multiple reasons. 1. Place was not that big. 2. Our children are 5 and up. 3. We know our children and no way shape or form was there a problem. She made it seems as though the situation was dire and we needed to solve the conflict immediatly when there was no conflict that would escalate to any singnificance. Our kids play well with each other and we try to let them resolve situations on their own. There was a couple red flags in the beginning but I brushed them of but as the day continued I was increasingly uncomfortable. She was like an overbearing mother or an extreme helicopter mom and I was the child. She wants things in place and honestly maybe she is in the wrong business. Maybe she just need to hire someone to keep tidy because the constant instructions are exhausting. If you are a regular you have more liberty to roam and not be berated. There were a few regulars there and she was chatty with them and not so controlling. It made me feel like I was invited to someones house that didn't really want me and my kids to be there. I would keep more examples but honestly I already wasted too much of my time. This is not how I want to spend the last hours of 2022 but I couldn't let this one go. I brought my 8 & 11 year old nephews here while they were visiting from out of town. Perfect place for them to play, make, and build. Tons of creative activities. My nephews build a cardboard fort, lego robot, paper airplanes, stop motion videos, and so much more. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There is a great mix of technology and creative materials. What a great place to take the kids! Tinkering is my daughter's favorite thing to do and the mess isn't at my house, it's wonderful! There's so much to do here...I'll forget it all...stem challenges, creative building, crafting, Legos, cardboard city building, magnet wall, matchbox car garage, video producing... my son loves it too. You can spend as little or as much time here and the kids will beg to come back. The studio is clean, bright, open, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They do kids parties too! I don't have an ounce of creativity in my bones but WOW is this place neat! This has been on my radar for a while now and yesterday I was able to finally bring my 5 year old to check it out. There are different stations throughout TinkerSpace for your children to immerse themselves and think outside the box, to create and learn. Although some stations were a little too advanced for my 5 year old, he still had a blast and didn't want to leave. The stop motion animation was definitely something that stood out to me. The owner was very nice and helpful with getting our imagination going. So many gizmos, gadgets and trinkets with endless possibilities. TinkerSpace is packed with all the crafts and technology that I wish I would do at home with my elementary-age kids but never have the time to collect and supervise. My sons ages 6 and 9 had a great time. They love crafts and imaginative play, and they got very excited when they saw a wall of supplies such as cardboard, paper towels tubes, tape, ribbons, scissors, etc. They started building castles and helmets and shields. The staff kept a deft eye on their building and introduced them to new techniques when they needed it, such as hot glue instead of tape, and origami dragon claws. The kids built and raced wind-up LEGO cars, and the staff introduced them to a snap-together robotics kit. We didn't get to try any of the workshops or computer/robot programming on the first visit, but the younger boy is eager to come back again soon to check them out. read more

This is an awesome place for children! And adults too as you can interact the entire time with your children. They have so many activities and the staff are great with helping out and explaining! All materials are there to use and every station has a purpose! We spent 3 hours here and definitely could have spent more! My 5- and 8-year-old had a great time here! We planned our visit during Harry Potter week, and the themed crafts and activities did not disappoint! In addition to making wands, dabbling in potion making, and writing with quills, they also enjoyed the standard activities. My little guy enjoyed open-ended play in the fairy garden, and my big guy had a blast learning about coding with a staff member. They both enjoyed the make-your-own animation station, the lego robotics, and the wind tunnel table. Today's visit was so inspiring because it's a place where kids can make their own toys from scratch by upcycling.
