When I paid for my services, I gave a tip to the lady who did it, she said "that's it?" And then she mumbled and walked away. My husband and I were very disappointed. We came to have a relaxing pedicure and it was a 20 minute from start to finish. The previous nail color was still on my toenails when I addressed it to the technician & asked to have her remove it before applying the new color. I took my daughter because we have a wedding coming up and they didn't even do my heels, the didn't do what we asked on her toes and then after we paid the two techs got talking kind of loud and the guy comes back and says he made a mistake when he charged for my daughter's nails and it should have been 8 instead of 5 so they had to charge me an extra $3...I'm pretty sure this is because I left a $37 tip and they wanted to get it up to $40. I have been going to Tina's for over 10 years. I got a pedicure last week and within 20 minutes it was peeling off. I went back right away to show them so they could correct it and was yelled at by the owner Tina. She told Me it was my fault because I didn't wait long enough for them to dry. I have given this nail spa many chances. My teenage daughter got a special design which came off within 2 days, we went back and they redid it, which then lasted another two days. We took a little break and then we decided to give it another chance. Went back and got a simple ANC color and it wound up cracking within a few days! I didn't have time to go back so we lived with it unfortunately. Then a friend suggested going there before homecoming so I brought my daughter back again. i am new to the area and was/am eager to find a new nail tech. The first time I went I was served by a man named Ken or something close to this. He was not personable and I felt like he was doing me a favor. In one day I had a nail break. I went to get it fixed and he was wearing the same clothes and had the same demeanor. He did not charge me for the fix so I was grateful and returned a few weeks later. This time I was serviced by a woman named Mary. I again didn't feel a friendly vibe and asked if one hour would be long enough bc I had a children's school concert to attend. I was told yes. I was getting ANC. After over an hour of service and telling her I ran out of time, I requested to pay and return the next day to complete my nails. Mary snapped at me and rolled her eyes. No No few more minute . I explained kindly that I was sorry but I had to go. She said "you be a little late". I said this is for my child's school concert, I'm sorry I can't be late. I will pay full price and return tomorrow please. She proceeded to get up and loudly speak in her language to Tina who was caring for someone's feet. The two of them went back and forth in their language loudly causing me extreme humiliation. all the woman raised their brows and looked at me. They could tell it was an inappropriate exchange of words. I apologized and told Tina, I am paying, and I am tipping for the service I received so far. There was such a negative tone and facial expression toward me I wanted to run. The friend I was with couldn't believe it. The next day, I returned to complete the last few steps in my nail service. Mary was rough w me and also cut my cuticle w the file. Mary again spoke in her language w a tone that made me very uncomfortable. Again other woman looked at me w raised brows bc they knew the tone was a far cry from kind. Typically I would tip 10-12 dollars. This time I only tipped $5 and honestly didn't want to give that bc of the way I was humiliated not once, but twice. Guess what?! My thumb nail broke the very next day. I definitely didn't return and never will. suggestions: Be kind to your clients , clean your aprons or change your clothes daily, smile and speak some English; even if only a small amount. I have been getting my nails done for 30 years and I have never ever had such an experience...twice! not sure how they are still open bc there is a lot of competition in this area. I haven't been in two years but saw Owen at the grocery store and decided to restart the gel nails again...this week. I think people are offended that some of the Techs don't speak fluent English. Trash. I went there last Thursday and got my nails done (long coffin with French tips)for my wedding on Saturday. Cost me $75. The very next day one nail already broke. I went back and had them fix it the following morning just hours before my wedding and by time she was done my nail did not match the rest of my nails. I complained that, my acrylics were too thin and flat (no apex for support for the length) and that was why they were snapping and I was told that my natural nails too short for the length and shape...couple days later another fingernail snapped in half. I went back to complain about my nails being too thin and once again, they told me my nails were too short for the length and shape. They refused a refund when I asked for a refund so I can go elsewhere to have my nails fixed because I was not letting them ruin my nails again. I have had my nails done for many years long coffin shaped, and I have been able to go weeks without a full no issue. My nails have always come out pretty good here as long as I ask for either Wendy, Sam, or Owen. They are all very good at ANC, which is what I always get. Tina's is relaxing and cozy... I have to say this place has the best overall vibe compared to any others in the area. However, do not go when they are near closing hours... I feel they do rush when you come in around this time. Worst gel manicure ( French tips) I have ever received. Went in the day before my father's funeral and by the next day, at least four tips were badly chipped. The other nails followed shortly afterwards. Considering what I was in town for, I did not have the time or inclination to go back to the salon.
