The best thing about Tim's Plumbing is Tim Jr. ! After getting my sink delivered by Frank Webb, the plumbers at Tim's that came out to install my new sink said the hole was too small, and they had to delay the appointment until they could find someone who could do the work. Luckily, Tim Jr. came to the rescue and even though he was juggling 70 other callers, he came out immediately and sawed it himself, the same day. Then his workers came out to finish the job and when they forgot to hook up the stopper to the sink and the hot water was running weak, I called them up and Tim Jr. came out right away and fixed all the problems same day. This is how you run a business! I wish they could clone Tim Jr. in every company, because he knows great customer service and does all he can, even though he's very busy. Contacted Tim's about having a heat pump water heater installed to save $. They came over to inspect and quote. I hired an electrician to get the required power connections they would need. They installed the unit and all seemed well for a few days. Then I noticed water all over my basement floor. I contacted them and they noticed I didn't have an expansion tank. I asked why they didn't quote that as part of the job? 'Because most people don't want the expense' I asked about the cost to get one and get one installed. Annnnd still waiting. Meanwhile, I have a container under the overflow tube and have to dump it out daily. All because these "experts" couldn't quote what I would need and ghosted me when problems arose. Avoid. I don't know what is going on with Tim's Plumbing, but I am extremely frustrated and disappointed. They installed a new KitchenAid dishwasher for us exactly one year ago and they did a great job. Unfortunately, that dishwasher had many problems and it ended up being replaced by the manufacturer under warranty. We called Tim's to have them come and uninstall the faulty one and install the new replacement that had been sent to us, which they did a week ago. However, it clearly was not installed correctly, because as soon as we open the dishwasher, the top rack comes flying out full speed ahead and, if we aren't able to catch it in time, the entire rack falls out. We have had dishes actually break as a result of this. Secondly, the front bottom panel that goes underneath the dishwasher was put on extremely crookedly and it looks awful. I have been calling Tim's for the entire past week and have left MULTIPLE voicemail messages and they have ignored every single one. I do not know what their deal is, but they have refused to return any of my calls. I even tried emailing them at the email address listed on their web site and, yet again, no response. They are making it look as though they don't care since they already got paid their $150 for the dishwasher install and have no intentions whatsoever of coming back to correct their sloppy work. We have been using Tim's as our plumber exclusively for various plumbing jobs ever since we bought our home 12 years ago and have NEVER had a problem with them until now. We have given them a lot of business over the years and have even referred family and friends to them, so I am very upset and frustrated that they are blatantly ignoring all of my calls as well as my email. It is highly unprofessional and downright rude. As longtime, loyal customers, we do not deserve to be treated this way. No paying customer does! Prior to this experience, I would have given them 5 stars based on our dealings with them in the past, but now I don't even want to give them 1. I guess we will have to file a Better Business Bureau complaint, which we really do not want to have to do, but they are leaving us with no other choice at this point. We NEED to get these installation issues with our dishwasher fixed ASAP. We paid them to do a job and expected it to be done satisfactorily and correctly, which it was not. I hesitated to write this because of their pleasant customer service, but after several phone calls, a few emails, a few visits and several hundred dollars I am very displeased with their service. Almost all of the services and diagnoses were done poorly or incorrectly. I'll start with the good: - Install a new faucet: done. - Spec and install a whole-house filter: done, except it was installed with PEX piping and hose clamps and leaks at every single junction. Further, the filtration system that was spec'd is definitely not the right one for the job. The filter clogs in 3 days of normal use. Also, my request was "install a whole-house filter so that the water is drinkable", and per Tim Jr., it is definitely not drinkable. It's yellow and full of sediment. Lastly, a piece of the packaging was left in the filter so it clogged on its first day of use. - Diagnose and repair hot water heater: not done. I checked this myself and saw that I had 240V going to the heater, so I suspected the element(s) were bad. Tim Jr. claimed that there was only 40V going to the heater and that I had an electrical issue that they couldn't fix. He claimed that the elements were checked and good. I checked it again and saw 240V. I pulled out the elements to see that one was broken in half and the other was badly corroded. - Rebuild the toilet so that it flushes correctly: done, except it still flushed poorly and ran constantly, so I had to re-do this work myself. - Fix a leak in the PVC pipe: not done and left leaking. - During the process of diagnosing the water heater, they switched a bunch of circuit breakers and left the one to my refrigerator off. It was a few days until I was there again and about $200 of my meat and groceries went bad and the house smelled awful. The whole reason I called a professional to do this is because my free time is extremely limited, and there are other things I'd rather be doing, but in the end I had to do almost all of this myself anyway. There aren't a lot of plumbing options up here, so I was trying to make these guys work by giving them a few chances, but in the end I won't be using them again. I am out $700 in services. Lesson learned. Also, as an aside, I was pretty shocked that they charged an additional $200 to come out on a Sunday, even to fix work that they screwed up. read more

Awesome service. We just bought a home in Bangor that's had many issues. It's almost 20 years old and things are wearing out or hadn't been properly maintained. The latest was the poor quality, not-up-to-code, rigged up plumbing the previous owner had installed themselves under the kitchen sink. On Sunday evening, it decided to fail majorly... Fell right off the sink! FML! Monday morning, we started calling plumbers. Not unexpectedly, everyone was scheduled out until Wednesday or Thursday or didn't even bother to return calls. Needless to say, I wasn't looking forward to doing dishes in a bathroom sink. But, fortunately, Tim at Tim's Plumbing returned our call and scheduled us for Wednesday, but said if they had time, they'd squeeze us in. Seemed fair enough. Two hours later, they called and said they finished up a job nearby a bit early and could be at the house in 15 minutes. Tim's son, Jordan, showed up 15 minutes later, as promised. Wouldn't ya know it, he had all new, installed-to-code piping completed in just 30 minutes! Just a simple job, but done to perfection for a fair price. Even fixed a slow flushing toilet for us since he was at the house. He was courteous and thorough. Nice and tidy too... Didn't leave a mess behind like some do. We couldn't he happier with the service, promptness, and pricing on such short notice. Tim's Plumbing is going to be our "go to" plumber from now on should the need arise. We'll keep them in mind for other services we'll be needing down the road too. We're considering heat pumps. Nice to know they do those and more. We love family-owned and operated businesses! They were on site in less than 2 hours and finished the job very quickly and cleanly. Quote for the work was given on the spot and was held to. The first time I called by just picking out a name from the phone book. The last 2 times I called because I knew I could trust them. This is a copy of the complaint I wrote to the Better Business Bureau. On Feb 10 my heat tape quite on me. Around 10:00 am I called Tim's Plumbing to have it replaced. The rep came out gave me a price of $450 plus $200 to $300 to defrost the waterline. I was in a jam so I agree to it. Then he left to purchase another heat tape. Three hours before I call Tim's Plumbing, I called Cedar Fall Mobile Home Park and ask if the water was out. The maintenance personnel told me to close all the registers in the house and turn your heat up to 90 degrees and leave it on to defrost my pipes. So I did. Around noon the water came back on . So I went outside to turn off the heater I thought that was underneath the house. To my surprise there was no heater. I thawed my water line myself. Around 1:00pm the rep from Tim's Plumbing arrive from getting another heat tape. I ask him why he is charging me $200-$300 for defrosting my waterline when I used my own propane to do it. Once I brought this up to him he change his mind on charging me for defrosting my waterline. Today Apr 3 around 12:30pm. I went out to unplug the heat tape. To my surprise underneath my house is trashed. Their is plastic and installation all over the place. The rep did not even clean up behind himself. So I called Tim the owner of Tim's Plumbing it went to voice mail and I left a message to called me. When he call back the I inform him the rep did not clean up after himself and plastic and installation is all over the place. Then I went on to say I lay plastic on the ground under the house to keep it clean. And I think someone needs to come out here and clean it up. I got silence like he was rolling his eyes. I told him if someone does come out here to clean this up I will put you on Yelp. Tim replied who do you think you are and I don't give a shit about Yelp and hung up. So I thought BBB would be better. read more

We have used Tom's several times over the years and have always been pleased. After a botched attempt by my husband to put on a new vanity in the bathroom we had a leak and called Tim's. This time he sent his sons who fixed the leak but the sink top no longer fit on the vanity. The sons came back did nothing to fix the problem but left for the second time a horrible mess for me to clean. My husband was unsuccessful at reaching tim after several attempts. I called on my phone , a number unknown to Tim and he got right back to me. Long story short, my vanity top is glued on as it would still rock otherwise. VERY disappointed and will never use the company again. read more

Tim put in a cheap tub fixture and charged us for a good one. It drips and the handle froze and would not move. No faucet should drip when it is 3 months old. He came and replaced the faulty valve. I looked on line to check out the faucet he installed. It cost between 24-30 dollars. I can't figure out why the bill was $400. Still trying to get him to come back to fix the drip. read more

I found my septic tank completely full and called Tim's Plumbing. I specifically asked Tim who needed to come first - the plumber or someone to pump out the tank, as I couldn't understand how they could check the pump with it completely under water. He said they should come first, and I trusted that he was honest and knew what was best. Tim sent someone out for a service call. They took one look at the full tank and told me I needed to have the tank pumped out first before they could test the pump, then charged me $95. A few days later I called Tim to let him know that I didn't expect him to do anything about it, but that I was upset because I had specifically asked him who needed to come first. He was very rude, told me that's not how he remembered it, and hung up on me. I do not feel heard, I feel taken advantage of. For a company that supposedly prides itself on great service, be prepared to be greatly disappointed. read more
