We have been fans of Tim's for years! We especially like their 3 item special - chow mein or rice, plus choice of any two items on the steam table. It feeds a person for two meals, there is so much food! Our family likes their sesame chicken, chicken green beans, beef and broccoli, and the newest addition, the black-pepper pork. I buy a big 'party platter' of their chow mein when it's my turn to do snack for my son's Little League team! It's always a hit, and very affordable. Mm-m, GOOD! And on top of that, the service is marvelous and friendly (and yes, it is a husband and wife who run the place). HIGHLY recommend as a great bargain for fast, yummy food! read more

Tasteless. A disgrace to Chinese delicacy. I wish they would put more effort on cooking.

The worst Chinese food I've probably ever had. Too salty. Mushy, thick chow mein noodles, strange flavor. Stay away!

So surprised at the legit wonton soup serving! Fresh wonton, lots of green book Chou, and clean tasty broth. Just what the Dr. Ordered for a nasty head cold. read more

I always get the wonton soup - definitely my favorite in the area! Large portions for a great price. Always tasty and quick!

The food is mediocre at best and the customer service is worse. I guess that's what fast food looks like though.

First time here and food did not have flavors will never come here again taste like when its rotten never come again

I was mortally hungry so I decided to give it a try. On the menu posted outside, it said $4.99 for two-item lunch, reasonable enough. I went inside, and the woman at the counter said $6.77. I was too hungry to contest, and got the food. Food was one of the worst Chinese I ever had. Never, ever again. The food is still sitting in my stomach after nearly 8 hours. read more

Tim's is my default when I am in a hurry or don't want to hassle cooking. It isn't the most creative Chinese food I've ever had, but for the price it's always plenty tasty. And, when Tim make s a special dish, it's always extra delicious. I wish he would make that curry again! My favorites are the green bean chicken and the sesame chicken. Try the little sesame balls for $1. They are great. There are many nights in grad school that Tim's had my back and kept me from going to be hungry. read more

Five stars for the amount food you get vs the price! 1 star off for not making a fresh batch of sesame chicken (SO GOOD) when its close to closing time! Owners are super friendly. Try their egg-foo young and prawns! read more

The worst Chinese food ever.. We were a party of 5. All of our food was cold.. When we told her that the food was cold she offered to heat it up in the microwave.. I needed to use the restroom and I was unable to squeeze between 2 garbage cans and the non working steam table.. It's been 3 days and I still have that bad taste in my mouth! read more

Good food, huge portions, low prices, nice people

Steamtable Chinese, fast and fresh. Owners are very friendly. Large portions, good price. Sesame chicken, hot sour soup, chow mein are the best. read more

We came here for the first time today and where very surprised to see that they have premade dishes like Panda Express does that you can pick from to go. The food was the same price as Panda Express but a lot better quality. Nice little place for Scotts valley read more

Love their Wonton Soup and my son loves their Chowmein. Owners are super nice and place is always clean.

I remember this place years ago and it was good back then, Fast forward 13 years and it was awful. I threw have of my lunch out. Not fresh, I also asked if there was msg and she said only in the soy sauce. Well it was more than that. Also the sweet and sour didnt taste right. I will not be back. Too bad as I work in the same shopping center. Go drive to Capitola to Canton! The freshest I have had in years. read more

Well that was a surprise. Husband stopped to get some last minute take out while passing through town. Gourmet it's not but really delicious for an easy dinner. And the sesame balls are awesome... soft, moist with just a little chewiness. We'll have to make a point of stopping by whenever we can. read more

A mom and pops place. Best Chinese in SV. I had their special, wonton soup. It was awesome.

My husband and I have been coming here for over a year, we're always greeted with a friendly hello. We've been coming here long enough the woman knows our order and has us in and out fast. Very affordable and fresh compared to other places around, My daughter loves getting the veggie egg rolls and fortune cookies. read more

This place is completely trash. Horrible customer service. Below quality food. Overall should skip.

I love this place. The owners/operators are extremely nice and accommodating. The food is always fresh and delicious. Lunch Specials under $7. They even have a 10-punch reward card system that get's customers free food and drinks! Who doesn't love American-Chinese food? read more

Hands down the best egg rolls I've ever had. They're made on site and they full of fresh cooked veggies and have a hint of curry spice.

This place was just absolutely awful. I was looking for some quick "Chinese" food and decided to give it a horrible mistake. First off, there was little to no selection and the food wasn't exceptionally cheap for what it is. After this it only got worse... The entrees were inedible. They were soggy, greasy and all tasted exactly the same (awful). Even the chowmein and rice made me fill ill. I didn't know that was even possible! Consider yourself warned: unless you want to feel like puking for the entire day, skip Tims. read more

Lady was rude, food is old, cold, and tons of grease. I love cheap Chinese food, but this is some of the worst I've had. Please go elsewhere!! read more

I've been to Tim's twice now. It is seriously the best Chinese I've ever had... And I dont attribute such accolades flippantly. The downsides are a) limited seating (clearly intended for carry out) and b) the lady at the counter (who is often quite friendly - but in a forced, fake kind of way) got a bit of an attitude when I wanted crab puffs... but not six of them! Six crab puffs is a bit much for one person... But she did eventually concede to give me a half order, so all is forgiven! read more

Good food. Cheap. Large portions. very fast. they have an awesome punch card program that actually makes it worth keeping their stamp card in your wallet for free food and drinks read more

One of the best Chinese food in town. I love their noodles. It's really flavorful. The price is really cheap .

Just brought home some Sesame Chicken, Garlic Eggplant, and Chow Mein based on the multiple positive reviews here. I was not very impressed. The only positives are polite and quick service. But the meal had little flavor and was very greasy. I cannot recommend. read more

When you gotta have chow mein and don't care how good its gonna be. It's American Chinese fast food.

Sesame Chicken is awesome, and the beef and brocolli is hit-or-miss. Overall this place is an above-average hole-in-the-wall Chinese food lunch location, with great service and awesome prices. read more

I'm in love with the Won-Ton Soup! Made to order with baby bok-choy and (10!) hand made, meat filled won- tons (almost too many) for only $5.99. I don't really care for anything else, because you can find better elsewhere. But I honestly CRAVE this soup and feel healthier after eating it. So glad it's starting to be soup weather... read more

I've been going here since I was a kid, and same for my husband. The service is great, always friendly and happy to make something fresh & custom if you want. My family prioritizes supporting family -owned and-operated establishments, and this is the best example of one we know! They are a very hardworking family who always provide consistently great Chinese food. read more

I don't like to make my problems other people's problems, but this business took advantage of my disabled, elderly mother. The woman was very uncooperative when I came to address her overcharging my mother and made offensive comments about me to the other worker (in Chinese, which was my major in college). Also, the food looked too unappetizing to eat... read more

I'd rate this place this just above the bags of frozen PF Chang's, except for the fried rice, and below Panda Express. The fried rice is steamed rice with corn, string beans, maybe a little more. It's not fried rice. Not even close. I don't know what this is. The frozen/microwaved stuff is better. -Much- better. The chicken chow mein had 2 pieces of chicken in it and had very little flavor. Panda Express' is much better... and that's not all that good. Sweet-n-Sour pork was lean and I didn't get any "nasty bits". (A little surprised at that one). Not a lot of meat, typical mass-made sweet sauce. The Kung Pao Chicken had a weird flavor. Never had KP taste like that before and I've eaten a bunch of it. I'd like to think that someone just messed up the sauce, but I doubt it. Again, not a lot of meat. I guess if 7-11 had Chinese Food at 3AM, this would be what you'd get. read more

For fast Chinese food, it's good. My daughter likes it very much. As for the person who gave this a 1-star review because they don't offer a vegan selection, that would be like me going to a vegan restaurant and writing a poor review because I couldn't get beef. I mean, it's readily available and all, and they should get on board with the other meat-friendly restaurants in the area. I mean, really... entitled much? read more

Despite the fact that I can't eat pork, this place still has delicious other items that are good for the go. Of course it is greasy but come on, that is what makes Chinese food. It is also really cheap and the portions are large. $5.35 for a lunch special + little tax?? Any day! If you are vegetarian, you do not really have that many choices but otherwise, it is definitely a good fast food, on the go Chinese cuisine read more

The chicken had been fresh once I arrived. I could have had better chow mein though, not much flavor or vegetables. Otherwise descent for the price. read more

I really hate to give any locally owned restaurant a bad review but we just had a very disturbing experience at this eatery. My husband ordered some sesame chicken and fried rice and brought it home for us to have for dinner. Perhaps the chicken was sitting around all day in the warming tray or we just got a bad batch or something. I don't know but half of it was so tough we literally couldn't even chew it. After trying to choke down about 4 bites each and each spitting out about 1/2 in our napkins, we decided that it was inedible. We took the remaining chicken off our plates and put it back in the box and my husband drove back to Tim's to see if we could replace it with something a little more palatable. This is something we NEVER do, send back food. We aren't very picky and we aren't complainers but this chicken was very hard and chewy and we couldn't eat it. So my husband goes back in there and quietly tries to explain that we can't chew the chicken and perhaps it had been in the warming tray too long? There was another customer in at the time and he was trying to be discreet and respectful. The woman behind the counter opens the box and exclaims he ate some (true, we did and returned the box about 80% full) and got rice on some and that she couldn't put it back.. WHAT??!!! My husband quickly said, "no no no, don't put it back!" To think that if we didn't contaminate the chicken with rice that it could have been put back into the tray after we took it home and tasted it, is disgusting! Eventually after some intervention from the gentleman in the back, my husband was offered a replacement and a stern warning from the woman not to return food we had eaten. He was so offended he left without anything. We weren't trying to get over or get free food or anything. Just something edible. We normally go to a different Chinese restaurant down the street but Tim's has been there for so long we wanted to try it out and give them our business. We weren't expecting 5 star food but something we could chew would have been nice and I certainly hope they don't really put returned food (even if it doesn't look touched) back into the warming tray to be consumed by the unsuspecting public. That's just gross! Don't think we will ever go back. I'm disappointed! read more

Well by reading all the reviews, you know the ole adage: Opinions are like.......well, you get my drift. I live in Scotts Valley and was born and raised in S.F. you might wanna say I know a thing or two about Chinese Food. For the price, you can't go wrong! If you're expecting House Of Nanking, then go there or Panda EX. For fast, easy and inexpensive Chinese, Tim's is the place! and the friendliest service in town! read more

The food is beyond slimy. I'll go to Panda Express before this place, and that's saying something. The food has no taste and everything is covered in a thick slime. Save yourself the disgust. read more
