vegan kung pao lunch here's delicious. dont forget to ask for spicy oil!

Canton West side Chinese food restaurant: A Vegan Wonderland! If you're craving a dose of addicting Chinese food, look no further than Canton West Sieeeeeeede! This little nugget is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary warehouse rave! It'll have your taste buds dancing like they just popped a hit o' pure molly!! First, let's talk about the plentiful vegan options: You'll find an array of dishes that are clearly marked with two V's --yes, that's right, VV is for vegan! It's like a secret code you give the doorman on your way into that underground party. But this party concentrates on delivering plant-based come-ups! And for those 1/2-steppers who merely dabble in vegetarianism, fear not! Just a single **V** marks those dishes, making it super easy to navigate the menu without needing a PhD in food hieroglyphics. Now, onto the flavahs! The olfactory decadence here can not be overstated. From the crispy spring rolls to the savory Kung Pao Tofu, every bite will have you licking your little finger-tutting digits. Order your Kung Pao, with "Extra Pow" and your taste-buds will be burning up like the dance floor during a double-drop Tiësto track! And let's not forget the Mapo Tofu -- this dish is extra spicy and comes loaded with gobs of Chinese peppercorns that will numb your mouth into a state of sub-lingual disassociation. It's like ketamine for your taste buds! The staff are warm... like the center of cuddle-puddle. They're your culinary POI spinners, ready to dose you with MSG so good you'll leave the restaurant looking for the Zendo Psychedelic support tent So, if you're twrk'n for some top-notch Chinese cuisine, make your way to Canton West Side. With such mouthwatering flavors you may find yourself rolling face. Oh, and don't forget your sugary fortune cookie at the end. These little biscuits are like an asian kandi-flip. Now go get your om nom nom noms on, son! #PLUR

Canton Westside takes over what used to be Golden City on Mission and they delivered a fantastic Lunar New Year meal for us. The owners from Canton in Scotts Valley now own this spot and the quality is carried over. They offer a $15 dinner special where you can select an entree and it is accompanied by rice, an egg roll, and soup. I ordered their Szechuan Tofu special and was pleasantly surprised at how great it ended up being. Large chunks of deep fried puffy tofu tossed in spices that made up half of my plate! I was loving this dish and was surprised at how crispy the outside was while it retained such softness inside. This item was also clearly marked vegan which is great for plant based eaters like myself. Make sure you ask for soup with no egg if you're avoiding that part. The service was friendly and restaurant was clean. I can see myself bringing my Chinese parents here if they're in town and want to eat something familiar.

Got the combination B plate. They have improved a lot . Wish the portion was a bit more for the $21 but good.

The quality of food is exceptional! The restaurant doesn't look like much from outside and it right next to a laundromat. But on the inside it super neat and cozy. It is spacious and aesthetically pleasing. They start you with a tea service, and have dinner/lunch specials. The options are economical and the portions huge. I definitely had to take some Togo. The staff is polite and attentive. The tofu is breaded and fried which makes the stir fry's more fun. Their combos are an entree of choice plus rice and a spring roll. Highly suggest stopping by here, you'll reminisce the flavor. Kudos to staff and management.

Schezuan beef :7/10 crunchy, perfect amount of sauce flavor wasn't the best. But it wasn't bad. Kung Pao 2/10 was lack any flavor at all. Please chefs throw some more sauce on it do not be greedy. Fried rice 1/10 it tasted like white rice. No flavor at all. Hire new cooks or change who is making it. Because the fried rice was just pathetic.

The food is very tasty at huge portion! Price is very very reasonable. Would recommend this place to my friends.

5/10 Dittos, was okay Came here with a group of people and the service was pretty good. I ordered the wonton noodle soup and unfortunately there was way more vegetables than there was both noodle and wontons combined. It was also rather bland, even with the chili oil. The portions of everyone's meal though was large and is meant to be shared family style. Everybody else seemed to enjoy their food but this was a miss for me unfortunately. I would try it for yourself to see if you like it but I don't think i'll be back.

I've been a long time local to Santa…read moreCruz, but i've never actually went out of my way to try one of the most popularly recommended establishments targeted towards vegan and vegetarians. I had ordered myself a cheeseburger and I was able to fill up my water bottle on site. It had been paired with a sauce and I had ordered extra. Upon the first bite, I cannot even believe that what I was eating was not actual red meat. Now, perhaps I am biased, because I truly enjoy delectable black beans. My only qualm is that I found it a little bit salty, but I have a sensitive palette, and I still couldn't find myself putting the burger down. On my next visit, because this is definitely going to happen- i will be trying the brussel sprouts. I would say it's a little bit tight in there, but I feel like I came early enough to get great seating. I would say this place is recommended to take on the go, but if you have a little time and you're in the area. Definitely check it out for a sit in stay. I can't wait to go back to pretty good advice.

Cons: Found $14 to be steep for such a small sandwich, and could have had a bit more flavor (maybe some spice?). The king salmon crudo was beautifully composed, fresh and bright, and the peaches were a standout, simple but perfectly executed. The chicken schnitzel was crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying in all the right ways. The NY Strip was where things got slightly complicated. The seasoning and flavor were genuinely excellent; the spice profile was spot on and the crust had great character. However, about a third of the cut was too fatty to eat, which was disappointing at that price point. It didn't ruin the experience, but it did feel like a quality-control miss on what was otherwise a beautifully cooked piece of meat. Also, put this steak over something else besides elaborate mixed greens. Service was warm and knowledgeable, and the space has a wonderful energy. Bad Animal is doing something right (for the most part). Hopefully I'll make it back but hoping for a better trim on the steak next time.

The sweetest older couple took care of my boyfriend and I and made some of the most delicious food! I was happily surprised to see a katsu menu (even a plate of mixed katsu), ramen (even Cheesy Ramen), and sushi rolls. I came with friends because we were craving classic Korean BBQ dishes, like spicy hot tofu soup and Dol Sot Chicken Bibimbap (clay pot with sizzling rice at the bottom - yum!) and soju (Korean wine), but we ended up also getting Japanese dishes, like unagi donburi (fresh water eel). Plus, as a classic Korean BBQ place, Sesame served the little dishes of Korean goodies, like kimchi, and they were so refreshingly tasty and obviously homemade! You know it's a good place when you are thinking about what dishes you want to order the next time you come, whom you want to invite, and where the takeout menu is! Service was okay: we were seated quickly and food arrived at a good pace. We had to ask for a few things, like remind them of our drinks, and wasn't checked on, but our server was easy to find and we had no complaints because we were too busy devouring our food and toasting with our pomegranate soju. Other things to note for first time customers: - Parking can be a little tricky because the lot in front of the restaurant is limited to about 5 cars only! Try across the street! Also beware that street parking meters are strictly enforced. - Drinks are delicious. Get them. - The place is spacious, so it's food for large groups. - Ambiance is more of a family restaurant (nothing fancy). The most important takeaways are: the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable!

We ordered a regular pollo burrito, and while we were excited about the tomatillo sauce, there wasn't much of it to taste. We also expected refried beans instead of whole pinto beans. Still, the burrito was good overall. The street tacos were better, the carnitas were flavorful, and the salsas added a nice kick. The rice and beans on the plate were solid, and we appreciated the free chips and salsa bar, even though the labels were mismatched and made it hard to tell which salsa was which. The chavela was a good drink. They forgot the shrimp on the rim at first, but eventually brought them out.
