Delicious food and great service! My wife and I drove down from Felton this year for "Jewish Xmas dinner" instead of staying local, and we're so glad we tried this place out. Really friendly owners, super nice customers, and a huge menu. We ordered won ton soup, chicken skewers, pot stickers, shrimp dumplings, fried rice, and eggplant. A+ all around. Happy kids, and happy tummies. We would like to give a special thanks to our server, who was really sensitive and sweet toward our little one who has ASD. This has become our go to Chinese spot in Scotts Valley! The new owners have taken this place up a notch. They are friendly and the food is very good. Besides Chinese they also have Pho and my Vietnamese wife loves it! We usually stop in for lunch. The lunch plates are not huge but they are enough food to where your not carrying out any leftovers. Soup and egg rolls are options that each add to the price. Dinner portions are also very small. Not as good a value as some other places so minus one star. I really like the Mongolian beef with fried rice. The beef is pretty sweet and not spicy at all but super tasty! It has a nice crunch from the addition of bamboo shoots... The rice has a Vietnamese flair to it, it's like "broken" fried rice! (Good broken, haha) As I mentioned they have Pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup. My wife always gets the combo that has meat balls and thin sliced beef. I always sneak a taste and it's quite good. The meat balls have a satisfying texture and the broth is very flavourful. Chicken salad was good - had a slightly spicy dressing which I liked. I'll likely be bloated tonight. Service was so-so. I ordered food lemon chicken lunch plate we also ordered Mongolian beef I hadn't eaten there in awhile. When I brought my food home it wasn't the same thing as I've ever had before. The lemon chicken tasted like plain chicken and Mongolian beef had a ton of vegetables in it like a stirfry this is not anything I've ever had before and I was informed they were under new ownership and change the recipes if you go on their website there is no notification of anything that they have changed the recipes. If I would've known they change your recipes I would've asked what the differences were before I purchase my food and let them know that they did not care that I should've known they change the recipes. We went to the restaurant for the first time because we wanted to have some Chinese food. The food was average but the portions were very small and the price was not cheap! The wonton noodle soup is only enough for a 6 year old. The combination pho costs us more than a normal pho in a Vietnamese restaurant but the portion is also a kids portion. The meat balls are all slices. We didn't even get one complete meat ball in the pho. Our whole family is still hungry afterwards and I definitely won't recommend it to anyone. read more

If you live in Scotts Valley you know you have choices for Chinese food. I believe this place has transitioned under two different management/owners in the recent past. Unfortunately, that transition has damaged the taste and quality of food. For example: their lunch specials. They will up charge you a $1.00 for rice (plain white rice) which usually, if you have ordered lunch specials before, comes with the main meal choice. I understand about up charging for soup or an egg roll but come on guys, up charging for "rice" on your lunch special? I went ahead and ordered the rice because what was I going to eat with my broccoli beef? If you go down the street to Chef Liu, the lunch special say $8.95, you get a complete lunch which includes the white rice and a soup. I also tried the Hot Sour Soup (add another buck) - seriously, this was so watery and barely had any tofu etc. They should stop with the nickle and diming - just create a price that includes a complete lunch. Rice and main entree for $8.95 or $9.95. Simple. Oh, one more note. Bring back the original recipe for the Chinese Chicken Salad which ABC Chinese restaurant in Scotts Valley was very popular and delicious. read more

This little hole in the wall is deceptive. You enter in a spotless very open dining area the walls are pale Cantelope color and the wainscoting is a shimmery white. My partner and I were Heading to roaring camp railroad and spotted this. I'll ordered Honey Walnut Prawns lunch special ($12). Served with choice of chow me in, white rice or fried rice! A Bargain. This is my favorite ever Chinese food dish the prawns were huge they're cooked very lightly in a tempura batter I think there's a creamy coconut sauce with shreds of coconut and honey walnuts absolutely heaven. One of our new local favorites, Great assorted dishes, reasonably priced. Various Vietnamese Pho selection my favorite is the shrimp with added wontons. It's fresh and very tasty! Their chinese food selection is also very good. Their Chinese chicken salad is the best, with fresh ingredients, crunchy toppings and a very generous portion. Their combo Chow mein, Honey walnut prawns are large lightly breaded succulent prawns, this definitely a must try, so is the sweet and sour pork. Try the dim sum as it's also a very nice treat! 2/15/25 just had takeout veggie chow mein & lemon chicken. absolutely no taste to the soggy chow menu, i would be surprised if veggie were fresh, & were few. not even pkt of soy to add...I liked the previously served (yrs ago) slab of chicken breast much better than roundish puffball nuggets the chicken is now. I fear the nuggets are bought frozen, but hope not...can't tell since putting lemon sauce on them. I've lived in Scotts Valley 40 yrs, so really miss the food from years past but know they are gone. Stopped by a few days ago for some food and had a good time. This casual restaurant has a decent amount of seating (but still not very big) situated in Graham Plaza near Starbucks. It is a small family-owned business, and I think they are understaffed because I saw about 1-2 front house staff, I think. It seemed a bit busy as I came for dinner, and I was informed that there's only one person who cooks in the back, like wow, they work really hard to hold down this place. I found out that they served pho-- kinda surprising for a Chinese restaurant, which was interesting. I tried the Combo Beef pho, and the serving size was ample-- I had to bring the rest home! It really hit the spot since it was a windy day and warmed me up really nicely. They also provide hot tea (pretty sure it was oolong or something) upon request; tea is complimentary unless you wanted a certain kind (black, jasmine, roasted oolong etc). The staff were kind and did the best they could despite the dinner rush. My pho was a bit on the pricier side since I wanted the one with everything in it, but it wasn't unreasonable since I had a good portion. Considering the inflation rates, everything else on the menu seemed pretty fair. I looked through many reviews before deciding to come here, and I'm glad I did because now I think I found a new place to visit often. This place is the definition of okay. Not good, not bad, just okay. Came in for lunch on a Tuesday. Arrived at about 11:20 and the place was empty but I figured since it was early the lunch rush hadn't come yet. There was only one server and no music, which made me feel kinda awkward. Luckily I brought my headphones. Upon opening the menu I was pleasantly surprised by the cheap lunch prices! $7.25 for a lunch special that comes with the appetizer of the day, rice, soup, and an entree. I ordered the lemon chicken with fried rice. The soup of the day was egg drop soup. I have no complaints - it tasted like basic egg drop soup. As for my meal, the portions were extremely generous. They gave me an entire chicken breast and a large scoop of rice which I didn't expect given the low price! To my disappointment, the food was actually quite bland. The fried rice had no flavor and the lemon chicken was drowned in an overly sweet sauce. Later came out the chicken wing. It was one small chicken wing with a side of sweet and sour sauce. I took one bite and left it to the side - it was terrible! Overall, I wouldn't claim this to be the "best Chinese food" as I've seen in some reviews, but it is also not the worst. For the price that you're paying it's really not bad. However, if you like rich flavorful food I suggest you go somewhere else. My advice to management would be to add more spices and to also play some music! read more

I was looking for a tasty bowl of pho and didn't want to drive over the hill just to bring it back all luke warm. ABC to the rescue! We order 4 different bowls of pho and they were all delicious! It really hit the spot when you just want some soupy viet comfort food on a chilly day. The portion was good with a very generous amount of meat. Love the wide to-go bowl so the noodles were not packed in. The broth could use a few more hours on the stove top to achieve the deep flavor but a great local option. Kudos to the chef! read more

This was our first take out from ABC. We had the phô, so everything that you would need to complete your phô was provided and plenty of it. Lemon, basil, fresh sprouts, hoisin, sriracha chopsticks and even phô style spoon. The was plenty of broth for the noodles, the same amount of meat you would expect of dining in the restaurant, and all the flavor you were expecting when you ordered it on the phone. Given the glowing reviews, when we placed a carryout order yesterday, we were really looking forward to our first Chinese meal since the start of the pandemic. Everything about placing the order and picking it up went very well. The restaurant looks much better than it did years ago, I was able to place a "custom" order on the phone, the staff were quite competent and friendly, tried to please. The banquets are nicely sized and fairly well spread out, allowing reasonable distancing. The main dishes we ordered were generous servings, and we got the impression that everything was clean and well run. That's the good news. The not so great news was the food. My wife's sweet and sour pork was really disappointing -- chicken was very overcooked, the only seasoning was the sauce, which she hated. I had to add hot sauce to my dish, a combo chow foon, which I had requested extra spicy, and which was far less satisfying than I'm used to for that dish from other restaurants. The spring rolls, which we shared, were also disappointing, virtually no flavor other than the dipping sauce. If you're looking for Americanized food, you may love it. We didn't. read more
