Because this shop is huge and close to where I live it comes to mind first when I need air in my tires, car inspections, or other quick service that can't wait. What I can't understand is why I keep going back when the service is so disappointing. The other day we were planning on going for a drive and realized my boyfriend needed an oil change. We didn't want to drive a ton before changing the oil so we stopped into Pep Boys to see if they could help. We spent 5 minutes standing in front of the guy behind the service desk staring at him before he acknowledged us. Then, once he started helping us he didn't seem to know what he was talking about and suggested the wrong type of oil. Finally, in the middle of talking to us he took a phone call. Needless to say we walked out and won't be returning. I gave two stars because they did put air in my tires and get my Lyft inspection done quickly on a separate occasion. I just can't get over how I always feel like an inconvenience as a customer even when I don't need anything that requires much work on their end. I really hope that eventually Pep Boys becomes a place people feel comfortable and welcome walking into.
