They refused to just replace the part. We called Mike's Auto Repair and it was replaced that day by 2 PM. They said it would be $353 and only charged us $276. They are an honest repair shop. I was told at the luther infinti dealership that I needed new sway bar links to fix a weird rattling sound coming from the front end of my car. They also said that I needed a new battery along with a long list of other things that all told, It would be almost 1000 to fix it all. I said I would have to wait on it. I got a second opinion at Mikes auto. He did my brakes and calipers last time at a really fair price and didn't try to give me a long list of things going wrong with my car even though it has almost 200,000 miles on it. As It turns out, I had lost a couple clips that held the plastic heat shield in the wheel well in place. He re fastened it, told me to take it for a test drive and the rattling sound was GONE. He also Tested the battery and said my battery was fine and I didn't need a new one and to return the battery I had bought for 162 bucks. Mike charged me 10 bucks and sent me on my way. He doesn't try to up-sell and do work that is un necessary, uses the best parts and does quality work. He also guarantees his work too. You have a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder that you came to us 8 month ago with your own water pump and timing belt from Auto Zone Parts store. We gave you the labor rate at around 378 plus you wanted a discount too. We lower the price and you agree with the labor. Did the job and coming to find that one of your hose was leaking. Replace the hose for you with no charge. We have been fair and honest to you all we can. You are still not satisfy. Last week you came to us for your upper control arm R&R and your own control arm bushing for us to press it in. We gave you the labor rate of 180. You didn't want us to do the job until we lower the labor rate. We denied to lower the rate and you got mad. Now you end up here and gave us bad review. Sorry that we can not satisfy you with your own price. Please don't give out bad review cause a shop can not fix your car for the price that you ask for. I took my car in to get a tune up cause my wife and I were driving from Minnesota to Los Angeles and back. I knew I had a lot of work to get done and I wanted to be sure we would be able to make it to California safely. I left my car over night to make sure everything could get taken care of. Mike told me he would check everything I was asking for before doing it to make sure it was even needed. I had my coolant flushed, changed my transmission fluid, oil change, replaced my spark plugs, changed my cabin and air filter, recharged my A/C and replaced my blower motor. When I went to pick up the car, he took me to the back of the shop to show me what he had done. He showed me how bad of shape the old part he replaced were in and explained to me that who ever gave me my last oil change installed the wrong oil plug which was most likely causing a leak. He hooked me up with a great price as well. The car now absolutely runs great. We made it to California with no issues and I wasn't worried about it breaking down for a second. After my trip to Mike's I know I'm going back any time I need car help. 100% my best interaction with a mechanic. So here's my story, keep in mind I know zero about cars. I had a check engine light come on after a recent oil change. A chain repair place plugged in their sensor, told me it was an O2 sensor and that I didn't need to worry about it ASAP, but that they would replace it for 300-400 dollars. The next week or so I stalled out on the way home from a grocery shop, and decided I should take it in. The folks at Mike's were super nice and took care of me the same day. They actually took the time to check out what the issue was and gave me some surprising news: I had a family of mice living in my air filter! They took care of replacing the damaged parts and charged me a much more affordable rate than the chain place had quoted me. After we were finished, the guy I was speaking with went above & beyond to make sure I was leaving happy. I was buying a used car and bring to Mikes auto for checked up, I had never been there before. The machanic loooked the car over, and not only would not charge me for the check up, but also not take the cash tip when I tried to hand them. Yesterday was Wednesday, I called them to saying my friend car had broken down, Mike tried to several trick me tell my friend how to get their car running again. But its still did not  work. He came and tow my friend car to the shop (he'd towing with Kiet's towing name, too) for check up then he called my friend how they were doing. They really honesty seem more like family than mechanics. They never talk down to you, never overcharge, my friend told me their 2004 Ford Focus were fixed and run like new with good deal from Mike. This is a rare find-a professional repair shop that gives excellent customer service, honesty, and fair prices. I got a call from a good customer of mine on the Sunday morning before July 4th. He had broken down in downtown St Paul on the way home from Canada. I checked for repair shops with weekend hours, and he was 4 blocks from a Firestone Complete. He had his van towed to Firestone while I called the local NAPA store about parts. A nightmare developed quickly. An estimate of $2600 to replace a CV Shaft, and not willing to have me ship the parts that they couldn't locate. I called NAPA Monday and asked for a recommendation of an honest local garage. I called Mike's and made arrangements to have the van towed there, and had the parts shipped to him. Repairs took just one day after getting the parts-total parts and labor under $500. I was told the engine needs to be replaced and would cost close $6000 to repair the car. I wanted a third opinion and went to Mike's Auto Repair. I've been to Mike's auto a few times and this is a great place to have a car repaired at! I went in 8-2-16 expecting to pay around $700.00 for a car repair, but after finding the real problem, I only paid $170.00..any other place would have just took the $700.00 and ripped me off!! But Kien and the other mechanic are very honest people and did not do that! Kien also let me drive one of his cars for the day just to get to work free of charge! These guys saved the day! I was on the highway beginning a 6 hr drive home for the weekend when suddenly my car stopped accelerating. Nooo!!!! Since I'm not from St. Paul I asked the internet for the nearest mechanic, praying I'd make it all the way and not have to call a tow. A friend recommended Mikes Auto to me as my daughters 2007 G6 was leaking something, we just didn't know what...turned out that she needed her transmission fluid changed and tightened. This car doesn't have the dip stick I remember so they dropped the tranny and while the tranny was already gown, did another job her list for a very reasonable price They understood my daughter is off to college in the fall and money is tight. It is hard to find an honest and skillful mechanic. Most will try to sell things you don't need. Others will just be incompetent and misdiagnosis. These guys at Mike's Auto Repair. They are the real thing. Skillful, knowledgeable and most important honest. My former mechanic misdiagnosis my issue and told me it was a wheel axel issue. To learn that it was an issue with a loose swag bar that they install month ago. Which I learn I had bad brake, wheel rotor, and brake caliber installation that they also install years ago. I dropped my car off there over the weekend as a first-time customer because my wheel nearly fell off when a ball joint broke on the road. He did a great job, had extremely fair prices, and walked me through each of the things he fixed.
