I have been here several times. They have failed a couple of times, and the prices and add-ons are…read moreoutrageous. I have spent over $15K here in the last 2 years. I am not going back there again. While I like the guys there, they gouge my wallet big time. I went in for a noise in the front end. I needed wiper blades and wanted them to check why my turbo gauge was not working, the mirror and rear defrosters were not working well, and my intermittent wipers did not work "intermittently". I also had a TPMS sensor failure on the left rear, which I knew about but never mentioned until they called and told me. I already knew, so no need for a replacement, as I plan to get new tires in the summer with new sensors. So for each one of those things, they wanted a $160 diagnosis fee at the end. 5 diagnostic fees totaling over $ 700. WHAT?! After my surprise and anger, they cut the diagnosis fees to 1/2 hour each and removed the TPMS sensor one. Woot Woot! I ended up with a total or $330 in diagnosis fees. Still too much as I knew about all of these things and they needed NO diagnosis, except maybe the wipers and Turbo Gauge. However, the gauge was working and evidenced by them starting the truck and revving it up. Must have been the -21 degrees that caused it that day. But $80 for that. The wiper intermittency was a setting on the dash for a rain sensor. I must have changed it at some point not knowing. $80? Brake inspections and front suspension inspections are usually free. I used to manage and work at Firestone and Tires Plus auto centers. Another $80? The used a Thermal camera to check defrosters. Mirrors were working and rear was 1/2 working. Cold weather again? No quotes or repairs, just $80 again. I guess they actually did something here. OK. I had told them the noise (humming) was likely a Caliper sticking. It was. They said both were sticking. Not likely, but possible. They were not very old. You should always do brakes and other things in the front end in pairs. They could have just said that, and I would have agreed. Brake jobs in my experience were about $500 per axel, which did not include calipers. I am sure more like $600 now. Calipers will add about $300 for the pair. Yeah, I am thinking $800. Nope $1300! They also did a brake fluid exchange instead of just bleeding the new calipers and adding a few ounces of fluid. $215.00, which is already part of the 1300. This normally would mean exchanging all fluid in all lines and all calipers, including the master cylinder. NOPE. rears were not touched. So I am guessing a manual bleed and an ounce or 2 of fluid. Not very happy VIP customer here. I would have paid $1100 for all this, but Not $1724..56! So, in my mind, it should have been about $1000 for the brake job in total, $30 for Wiper Blades (they charged me $47 - OK I guess), and maybe a total 0f $80 for inspections/diagnosis. Maybe $100. Labor of $857, Parts of $758, plus a $38.20 Shop Supplies fee (kind of a standard, but $38 - really, guys?) - add taxes and you get the $1724. This is about a 4-hour job in my mind. been around this stuff all my life. $210/hour labor? I know the parts were under $400, their cost as well. Likely $300. I did approve a $1300 quote over the phone. WOW. 1724? Be careful guys. Very pricy here and Honest should not be in their name.

Not a chance I wasn't letting them do anything anyways. I asked before my oil change how much it would be he told me $75 before the $10 off so it would be $65 then I go in to pay and he charged me $85. I asked him what the hell was that? And he made up some bullshit at the desk so I got stuck paying $85 for a f*cking oil change.... Literally go anywhere else if that's all you need. Don't recommend at all.

I had to replace the computer because we are going to sell it and also a few other items...almost $2,100. I picked it up from their parking lot and the power steering is so tight I can hardly move the steering wheel To drive it onto the road. I drove it across the road to Holiday to see if I needed to buy power steering fluid as I had a 25 mile drive home. Power steering level good. I got to Plymouth and called the shop before they closed Tuesday night. John called Wednesday about 3pm. I asked if the mechanic drove it. He said yes around the neighborhood. Literally, steering was almost locked, front end sounds like a dinosaur yawning. A tense 25 miles home. How could this be missed post computer fix as they parked it in the lot? i could have had them either diagnose and fix the issue at UI (saving me a ride in rush hour downtown) or towed to my other mechanic in Eden Prairie. Friday it's being repaired in EP. It is most likely either a power steering pump or seal issue or possible cv joints. Frustrating.

Judge for yourself, but I'm sharing my story so not one more customer is defrauded by this shop. Seriously. Be warned..... I brought my car in on 12/20/22 @ 8:30 am and advised Dana, 'I hear a grinding noise coming from the front end. It occurs when I accelerate and when I'm moving at all. I had the vehicle last serviced with Hoover Wheel in August and they replaced parts. I have the detailed work order of what they've already done and it's on the passenger seat.' She had me sign an estimate that showed $738 for a wheel bearing replacement, which I signed saying to her, 'I want the grinding noise to be fixed.' She said 'no problem, we'll get you taken care of.' Dana calls me around 4pm to tell me that I can pick it up. I arrive and the bill is $938.77. I paid it even though it was a lot more than originally quoted. I just wanted the noise gone and they said they could do it. I drive the car away and the grinding is even louder. I called and they didn't answer my call. The next day, I waited for a return call because I did leave a voicemail at 5:22 pm. No call back. I called her and said they didn't fix it. She said bring it back and we'll get it fixed. They charged me AGAIN for doing what I had asked in the first place! I was told that the drivers side wheel was hanging there by the owner. I asked how that was possible when I just paid $938 for that to be fixed. They fixed the WRONG SIDE OF MY CAR AND THEN CHARGED ME AGAIN FOR WORK THAT DIDN'T NEED TO BE DONE. I never signed anything agreeing to pay them extra to do the job correctly. This garage has scammed me! I'm out now $1913.25 on a repair that should have costed me less than $500! These people have to be stopped! I told the owner everything and he did not have any sympathy. He gave me $100 off the second bill. I was defrauded by this garage. I understand making a mistake but to blame me and then make me pay twice is outrageous! I want the second bill repaid to me because I shouldn't have had to pay for something that didn't need to be fixed. Again, there is serious fraud going on here and I'd like the BBB to investigate please!!! The owners response: Let me start by saying I am truly sorry about Daniel's experience. He wanted a wheel bearing replaced. We asked which bearing he wanted replaced, He replied "I believe it to be the front passenger side" (call file at 40 sec). Dropped off the car and gave us paperwork from another shop. He did not ask to have anything confirmed about the bearing. Told Daniel that if the hub needed to be replaced with the bearing it would be extra. Parts were replaced per request no diagnosis was performed. A new hire performed the work he did not test drive prior or after the work was completed. Our repair process states to drive before (if driveable) & after repairs. Tech is NOW aware that EVERY vehicle is to be test driven before and AFTER repairs. The 2nd day we looked at the driver side & found the nut was loose. We tightened the nut, the bearing still was noisy. We told Daniel how much it would be to replace the driver side bearing & hub. Finished repair test drove the noise was gone. At pickup he said it was a lot of $$. Gave a $100 discount. I gave him both bearings. I turned the passenger side bearing and said that it felt notchy. Called Daniel twice on 12/30/22 to resolve this. He didn't answer or call back. My solution is as follows. Bring the car back, I will provide a loaner. I will remove the passenger side bearing and install the old bearing. Document taking the new bearing and hub assembly off and installing his old bearing. If there is no noise I will reimburse him for the 1st repair. If there is still noise we can work something out for the passenger side bearing/hub assembly. I am not going to give Daniel the new bearing/hub for free. I need the parts so I can return them and be reimbursed by my supplier. I also want Daniel to take his review off Google and the BBB too since I am accommodating him. I am providing the recorded phone call file from 12/19/22 and a screenshot of the call log showing the times I called Daniel on 12/30/22. My response to the 'solution' offered: I no longer have faith in this business to handle absolutely anything with my car competently or honestly. I reject the 'accommodation' offered. It's simply insufficient. As far as removing my reviews; absolutely not. As a matter of fact, I have told everyone about the scam happening here. John, your response is unacceptable. I complained of a grinding noise. Your website falsely advertises it fixes grinding noises right the first time! Excuses is all you've offered. I will accept the labor costs if you're okay with my continued protest that I should not have had to pay twice. You and your staff are perpetrating fraud by falsely claiming you've done work you didn't do! You even admitted-see BBB

The referred me to Frankie's towing due to it being the overall best value in the area, and because they also have a trusted relationship with them. They were able to get the vehicle repaired and now it starts and runs well! Overall I think what they charged for labor is fair for the market, and the quality of work seems adequate. The staff is friendly as well, so the only draw back is really that the entrance and waiting area feels a bit dirty and run down. If you need your car serviced in the area this is definitely a decent place to take it!

To clarify, it's now the beginning of March…read more The shops I did contact when I'd have the time to consider the repair throughout that while all asked for the car to be dropped off, some requiring a full week before dropoff, which didn't work for me, so I kept putting the minor nuisance on the back burner. Fast forward to the other evening, and a phone call with a dear friend results in learning that a family friend who had helped raise him, the mother to one of his closest friends from childhood to this day, was on her death bed across state lines. His car was in the shop from a hit and run. Suddenly, the minor repair I'd ignored for months became top priority, because I didn't want him needing to return to the Twin Cities immediately if he carpooled or spend a ton on a rental and still have to measure his stay to minimize the rental expenditure. I had an unexpectedly busy day yesterday, so once I was free today, I picked one of the best-rated Plymouth repair shops and grabbed my phone, expecting it to be the first of many calls, given recent experiences with fielding this exact repair for my car. Nope. John was not only truly warm, he was very considerate and informative in his questions before inviting me to bring my car in for a quick repair today, despite it being already 3:30 pm at that point, with the shop closing in an hour and a half. I got to the shop at 4 pm. Less than half an hour later, I was leaving with my car no longer clanking from a loose part. I think I've found a solid new (and far more local - my go-to shop up until now required a half hour drive, but I love my car so I didn't mind) doctor's office for my car.
