I had my non-starting car towed here and the service team here was very helpful. My car isn't new…read morebut I was planning to drive it a few more years. The team was very thorough with the diagnosis of the main issue, which turned out to require a new engine. The team listened to me even though the repair was to cost about what the car was worth - due to some other things going on in my life, I just wanted my car back in working order. The service team diligently pursued finding a used replacement engine for me to attempt this repair, but were very honest that both replacements had the same issue at least as bad as my existing engine. I appreciate that the team went the extra mile trying to get my car back into a shape that would meet my goal of being able to drive it for a few more years, and conferred with me each step of the way. In the end, I paid only for the work they had done to diagnose the issue and get my car starting reliably again. I would trust these folks with any repairs I need in the future for certain. They listened to me, were honest about the issues they encountered, and gave me good advice through every step.

I dropped my car off for a front end alignment, which they charge $159.95 for. Fair enough…read more I was told that during their pre-alignment inspection they discovered that the passenger side outer tie rod end was worn and needed to be replaced in order for the alignment to be done. This makes sense, so I said ok go ahead and do it. I was then told that with the alignment and tie rod end replacement, the total cost would now be $565.04! I decided to do it because my car was already there in the shop and it needed to be done, however this price is insane for the work that was done. They charged me $98.92 for the tie rod end, which is a very large markup. They charge $239.81 PER HOUR for labor, which is completely crazy. I was charged for an hour of labor, when I know for a fact that changing out one single tie rod end should only take a decent mechanic 15-20 minutes. It is ridiculously easy. Finally, they charged me $57.83 for "RO Fees" which include recycling, environmental, shop supplies and hazardous waste disposal. This makes no sense to me because I had no fluids changed that needed disposal, and the only shop supplies they would have needed for a tie rod end and an alignment would be paper towels, maybe a dab of anti-seize, maybe a pair of nitrile gloves. Nearly $60 is straight up robbery for the job they did for me. Yes, they are friendly. Yes, I think the work they do is fine. What they charge, however, is not reasonable and I think they are taking advantage of the many people who need their car fixed and don't know a whole lot about mechanical work. This is why I try to do most of my own repairs, but some things (like alignments) a guy just can't do in his driveway.

Words truly cannot describe how much I appreciate and love Ray's Car Shop! As a woman, finding a…read moretrustworthy car shop has always felt like a nightmare--you never know how you'll be treated or if someone will try to take advantage. From the very first visit, everyone at Ray's made me feel welcomed, respected, and valued. Katie at the front desk is such a breath of fresh air. She's incredibly kind, transparent, and upfront about everything she knows. She never tries to upsell or pressure customers into unnecessary work, which is so rare in this industry. Her honesty alone gave me confidence that I was in the right place. I originally came in with my 2017 Mercedes AMG after becoming completely frustrated with the regular Mercedes dealership. Their outrageous quotes and unnecessary suggestions made it clear that their only priority was money, not the customer. After doing a ton of research, I decided to take a chance on Ray's--even though it meant driving all the way from Bloomington, MN--and I am so glad I did! Ray himself is one of the most genuine and meticulous mechanics I've ever met. He was honest with me about what needed to be done, careful with my car as if it were his own, and never once made me feel pressured. The entire experience was so positive that I immediately started recommending Ray's Car Shop to everyone I know. Now, I don't just bring my Mercedes here--I also trust Ray and his team with my Toyota. That says a lot, because once you find a shop this reliable and sincere, you stick with them for life. I can't thank Ray and his team enough for their honesty, professionalism, and the peace of mind they've given me. If you're looking for a car shop that truly cares about you and your vehicle, Ray's is the place to go!

I've been his customer for a number of years, and every job he's done on my truck has been top notch. I have a story to emphasize his honesty. I recently had a few "nagging issues" that I asked him to estimate for me. One of the issues, a loss of fluid problem, was initially estimated well north of a $1,500 dollars to fix. The truck has over 300,000 miles on the clock, so you sort of expect those things, but this one was "one I could live with", so I deferred that repair until my budget would allow. Meanwhile Ray had the truck for another issue "in the vicinity" of that loss of fluid problem. Contrary to his original diagnosis, his other work around that problem area uncovered a hidden loosened tubing connector. A couple of wrench turns (free gratis), and we're able to discard that expensive estimate. I've been in shops before where I might have never been informed of that discovery, and would have paid for the original estimate.

Auto Pros in Chaska is the best in the business! Honest opinions, honest prices…read more The front desk guys, and the mechanics, treat everyone like they are real people! They don't talk down to you and they don't try to sell you stuff you don't need (they don't run out with an air filter every time I get my oil changed). They tell me when something is going to need to be done, but they also tell me how long I can get by in my vehicle's current condition (they'll tell me my brakes are getting worn, but I should be able to get by for two more oil changes). They've done all my maintenance and repairs, put the right tires on for the way I drive, checked over a used vehicle before I bought it, and they lend me a courtesy car when I need it! Service at it's best! I've recommended them to a lot of friends who've thanked me for pointing them towards Auto Pros.
