I was trying to buy a certain make/model of car to drive to Alaska for my summer job and had to look across the country for one. I found one in Michigan and the salesman told me that the condition of the undercarriage was good. So I booked an inspection to confirm this. The inspector reported that the car was in excellent condition with perfect body and only mild surface rust underneath, so I purchased the car and had it shipped to me. On inspection in person after it finally arrived I found severe rust causing perforation of the frame, pieces of sheet metal that are broken off or cracked through, nuts that are permanently fused. In addition there is a large crack in the exhaust manifold. The dealership said I purchased the car as is and refuse to return the purchase price. I purchased the car as a direct result of the report I received from the Lemon Squad! According to a local certified inspector/mechanic, the car is unsafe to drive and would not pass inspection or be eligible for registration due to its condition. As a result of the car's poor condition, I was forced to search for and purchase another vehicle, forcing me to postpone my departure (and my arrival up there), thereby postponing my start date for my summer job. This has cost me a lot of money as well as lost income. I'm now stuck with an $18k rust bucket, which I hold Lemon Squad to blame for. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Engine light came on day after arrival which I didn't even hold against them.

I had an inspection done December 29th 2020 on a Saleen F150. When I received the report, it stated that several items were working but when I received the vehicle, those items were in fact not working. Examples include interior lights and dash gauges. The report also reported the the transmission shifted fine, which it does not, and no vibration when driving, which it does vibrate violently. When I received the vehicle, it was unsafe to drive due to the vibration and how bad the brakes are. They didn't even bother to check components like the bed cover and factory installed radar detector. All of these components were faulty or didn't work. Lemon Sqauds response is they could have all went bad by the time you received the vehicle since the vehicleis 14 years old. What a joke! I tried to reach some sort of amicable solution but their response was, "nothing we can do". Roger that. Stand well clear of Lemon Squad because they have a loop hole where they can never be held liable. Their response, "it wasn't like that when the inspection took place" and they are off the hook and you are stuck with a LEMON.

I drove it across the road to Holiday to see if I needed to buy power steering fluid as I had a 25 mile drive home. Power steering level good. I got to Plymouth and called the shop before they closed Tuesday night. John called Wednesday about 3pm. I asked if the mechanic drove it. He said yes around the neighborhood. Literally, steering was almost locked, front end sounds like a dinosaur yawning. A tense 25 miles home. How could this be missed post computer fix as they parked it in the lot? i could have had them either diagnose and fix the issue at UI (saving me a ride in rush hour downtown) or towed to my other mechanic in Eden Prairie. Friday it's being repaired in EP. It is most likely either a power steering pump or seal issue or possible cv joints. Frustrating.

Judge for yourself, but I'm sharing my story so not one more customer is defrauded by this shop. Seriously. Be warned..... I brought my car in on 12/20/22 @ 8:30 am and advised Dana, 'I hear a grinding noise coming from the front end. It occurs when I accelerate and when I'm moving at all. I had the vehicle last serviced with Hoover Wheel in August and they replaced parts. I have the detailed work order of what they've already done and it's on the passenger seat.' She had me sign an estimate that showed $738 for a wheel bearing replacement, which I signed saying to her, 'I want the grinding noise to be fixed.' She said 'no problem, we'll get you taken care of.' Dana calls me around 4pm to tell me that I can pick it up. I arrive and the bill is $938.77. I paid it even though it was a lot more than originally quoted. I just wanted the noise gone and they said they could do it. I drive the car away and the grinding is even louder. I called and they didn't answer my call. The next day, I waited for a return call because I did leave a voicemail at 5:22 pm. No call back. I called her and said they didn't fix it. She said bring it back and we'll get it fixed. They charged me AGAIN for doing what I had asked in the first place! I was told that the drivers side wheel was hanging there by the owner. I asked how that was possible when I just paid $938 for that to be fixed. They fixed the WRONG SIDE OF MY CAR AND THEN CHARGED ME AGAIN FOR WORK THAT DIDN'T NEED TO BE DONE. I never signed anything agreeing to pay them extra to do the job correctly. This garage has scammed me! I'm out now $1913.25 on a repair that should have costed me less than $500! These people have to be stopped! I told the owner everything and he did not have any sympathy. He gave me $100 off the second bill. I was defrauded by this garage. I understand making a mistake but to blame me and then make me pay twice is outrageous! I want the second bill repaid to me because I shouldn't have had to pay for something that didn't need to be fixed. Again, there is serious fraud going on here and I'd like the BBB to investigate please!!! The owners response: Let me start by saying I am truly sorry about Daniel's experience. He wanted a wheel bearing replaced. We asked which bearing he wanted replaced, He replied "I believe it to be the front passenger side" (call file at 40 sec). Dropped off the car and gave us paperwork from another shop. He did not ask to have anything confirmed about the bearing. Told Daniel that if the hub needed to be replaced with the bearing it would be extra. Parts were replaced per request no diagnosis was performed. A new hire performed the work he did not test drive prior or after the work was completed. Our repair process states to drive before (if driveable) & after repairs. Tech is NOW aware that EVERY vehicle is to be test driven before and AFTER repairs. The 2nd day we looked at the driver side & found the nut was loose. We tightened the nut, the bearing still was noisy. We told Daniel how much it would be to replace the driver side bearing & hub. Finished repair test drove the noise was gone. At pickup he said it was a lot of $$. Gave a $100 discount. I gave him both bearings. I turned the passenger side bearing and said that it felt notchy. Called Daniel twice on 12/30/22 to resolve this. He didn't answer or call back. My solution is as follows. Bring the car back, I will provide a loaner. I will remove the passenger side bearing and install the old bearing. Document taking the new bearing and hub assembly off and installing his old bearing. If there is no noise I will reimburse him for the 1st repair. If there is still noise we can work something out for the passenger side bearing/hub assembly. I am not going to give Daniel the new bearing/hub for free. I need the parts so I can return them and be reimbursed by my supplier. I also want Daniel to take his review off Google and the BBB too since I am accommodating him. I am providing the recorded phone call file from 12/19/22 and a screenshot of the call log showing the times I called Daniel on 12/30/22. My response to the 'solution' offered: I no longer have faith in this business to handle absolutely anything with my car competently or honestly. I reject the 'accommodation' offered. It's simply insufficient. As far as removing my reviews; absolutely not. As a matter of fact, I have told everyone about the scam happening here. John, your response is unacceptable. I complained of a grinding noise. Your website falsely advertises it fixes grinding noises right the first time! Excuses is all you've offered. I will accept the labor costs if you're okay with my continued protest that I should not have had to pay twice. You and your staff are perpetrating fraud by falsely claiming you've done work you didn't do! You even admitted-see BBB

We then took off on our first adventure in the car. After 1 1/2 hours we headed home. We heard a load scraping noise. The right front wheel bearing cratered. We limped it home. We smelled gas the whole trip. We discovered the carb was leaking fuel in several areas. So we've enlisted a Ford expert to help us locate all the leaks from the engine. I replaced the front wheel bearings after 9 hours!!! Then the next day the driver door wouldn't open. I finally got it open. The engine leaks oil like a stuck pig!
