Just had my van up to C&J Auto and I am so happy I did! Needed some battery work and they checked and saw the battery, only 2 years old, was under warranty they got the replaced no cost to me. Aaron and the guys at C & J's have been to my rescue a few times! I have a 10 year old BMW and many places won't touch them, which I can understand, but it's not always convenient to go elsewhere and the dealerships take forever. Each time I drop off my car with them they are able to quickly work me in and have saved me countless hours or time and substantial money. I couldn't recommend them enough! This guy replaced brake pads and after that everything else started going wrong. Brakes were making loud knocking sounds and this mechanic told that was normal. Took the car to a dealership and got brake pads replaced. No knocking sound and the car is back to normal. I will never take my car to him. read more

do not trust these people, brought truck in because of bad tensioner on timing belt, 5 days later tells me cylinder 3 has low compression drove it to them just fine to fix noise on the engine. they ran it with timing belt out of time and wrecked the valves i now have truck that drive like crap and they say it came in that way they want $1900 to fix what they broke then covered it up by say "it came in that way" after the fact by putting on the receipt so now I have way to go after them. this probably happened before. stay away! read more

I've used c & j for years. I've had multiple cars worked on. I brought my vehicle here two weeks ago. I told them I had acceleration issues and would like a diagnostic test. I suspected it may be transmission issues. They worked with my warranty company, I then asked for quotes aaron told me the quotes were high since the warranty company was going to cover it. They quoted $6100 for the transmission and labor. I didn't mind the quote and the fact they were hammering a corporation who takes advance of the small guy because they are a small business and my understanding it was all paid for. We found out they would only cover X amount, he kept the quote the same after my out of pocket cost was calculated. I was baffled, they tell me they are over quoting because they will get more money from the insurance company and still keep the quote the same knowing I'm paying out of pocket? I asked them to use a fully rebuilt transmission that had a 3 year warranty from a reliable company that cost only $2400. He said even if they did it would still be 6100. $3700 for labor installing a transmission? I called three to four places around and every shop quoted 1200-1700. I told him I would need to think about it, waited and finally called to tell him that I'd have to take it somewhere else, even after he offered a discount it would have been 600 out of pocket, while I could take it somewhere else and pay nothing. I would have paid it for sure because I've always liked and trusted this place. The fact he told me his was over quoting the insurance and still wanted to charge me the same knowing I wasn't fully covered was enough to make the decision. I went in, paid the inspection fee and asked for the diagnostic report. While I was waiting, he entered my car into their system as I was picking it up. It had been there a week and a half and the paperwork he gave me was blank and showed the drop off date and completion date as 6/10. I know for a fact I would have a few bad codes from low tire pressure, low wiper fluid and assumably the transmission or engine codes. It's not a older model. The report said transmission failed no codes present. I highly doubt they even ran a diagnostic report. Given he filled out the paperwork while I waited with nothing to report. I paid $100 and had nothing to show for it. I wanted reports any info to send to my warranty company. Since I wasn't having the work done there I had a photo of fluid, my engine bay and a piece of paperwork that said failed transmission. That vehicle ran when I dropped it off with out any issues besides the very occasional acceleration issue. They didn't tell me it doesn't run when I picked it up. It died down the street at holiday two blocks over. Zero regard for my safety and my family's. Towing was $200, plus the $100 for the supposed inspection fee. I am a local small business owner and have had plenty of positive experiences here like many of the reviews. Unfortunately with them hiking the cost up to make a extra dollar, then proceeding to do so on my wallet and the fact they almost certainly did no in-depth inspection, filing the car report while I waited at pickup with no evidence of any faulty in the car, to top it off they did not tell me the vehicle did not run, given their dishonesty and the fact I drive 70 miles a day on my round trip to work and have never been ever had my vehicle give out and that the car wasn't driven or left the lot I have no idea how it's come back into my possession inoperable. As a local business I will share my experience and never recommend this shop. It's a shame but the vast amount of dishonesty and the way you guys performed is unacceptable. The attitude and everything else changed when they found out they weren't getting 6100 from me and the warranty company. Save yourself time and money and find another shop.
