The equipment is much more advanced than that of my previous doctor as well. Dr. Solomon was very attentive, thoroughly checked my eyes, and answered all my questions as well as gave an overview of what he found. His professionalism and knowledge were comforting and reassuring! Definitely would recommend this clinic. It is not everyday that you're able to feel comfortable and at home, but this is definitely something that you can find here - along with caring and knowledgeable professionals!

She really tried to make it right and retain me as a patient/customer. I still can't justify more than three stars because it can still be a frustrating experience to go to the Orem Eye Clinic. I feel I spend more money than I can afford every time I go, even with pretty good vision insurance! Whether it's the expensive meibomian gland treatment, the expensive vitamins, or the expensive frames and lenses, it all adds up and I think there are less pricey alternatives that are just as good.

I never have problem with parking. The optometrist is nice and helpful, and the ladies in the front are great. The lady who ran the area for purchasing glasses is also friendly and does not push for expensive upgrades. I have been here before and thought everything was just great but coming with my dad who is wheelchair bound made me realize how inaccessible this place is. 1. No handicap automatic door. Getting through the door was a hassle because I had to hold the door open while trying to maneuver the wheelchair. 2. Unaware staff. The tech who did the initial exams did not know how to deal with someone in a wheelchair and was not making accommodations. I had to move things around, including machinery, so that my dad could access them. 3. Having to transfer to the exam chair. Hear me out. I am 5'3" and my dad is 6'2". Helping him transfer was not an easy task and the tech was no help--I had to ask her to move a chair out of the way and she did not know the foot rest moved (and figured it when it was too late). I hope that there are other optometrists that have accommodations for people in wheelchair, and next time I take my dad anywhere, I'll make sure to ask about accommodations and staff training.

I read the Yelp reviews before booking an appointment and took the chance and I am glad I did! If you are worried that they won't want to give you your prescription to buy glasses elsewhere or that they will give you a hard time for it, that is false. Also, if you prefer to do images instead of having your eyes dilated at your yearly exam they do it here for $15 and that is the cheapest I have ever had an optometry clinic offer those for! I have always paid $30-$50 for that at other clinics--both in state and out of state. That alone should have you choose this place to receive services if they take your insurance. It's also a great location that is not hard to find.

If you value your vision, and your eyes, don't risk it! Typically, I do not leave negative reviews,…read morebut I feel with the experience I had here it's necessary to warn others. After wearing new contacts for a month, I went back per John's request to check the fitting. Everything was great until then. John removes contacts for his patients, when removing mine he was unable to get it out on the first try, then became visibly angry, shoving his fingers in to my eye to remove the contact, it was so hard it pressed my head against the chair's headrest and his fingers jammed in to my eye. There was no immediate pain, but suddenly I had blurry vision for the about an hour. For months I have been left with severe eye pain, extreme sensitivity to light, and painful visual accommodation between near and far distances. Another optometrist was able to confirm uveitis, which usually follows blunt trauma to the eye. Some of the problems are still ongoing, and my vision seems off. I have always done everything to protect my good eye because the other is uncorrectable. Never in my life would have thought to need safety glasses for an eye exam. John denied removing the contact forcefully and even got upset again when I refused a second fluorescein exam. Also, Jana Lee was always very rude, inconsiderate, condescending, and just all around difficult to talk to. For anyone considering Ackerson Eye Care, don't risk it, and please, never let anyone put their fingers in your eye unless necessary.
