We have been going here for a couple of years now and enjoy the atmosphere, food and drinks. The fashionable old man is w my favorite drink there, not too sweet. I usually stick with fish for a main and am not disappointed. The zucchini blossoms are a fun started and the crème brûlée is a great way to end a meal. First off the food wasn't terrible but wasn't great either. When the bill came we noticed a charge of $0.50 per olive in a dirty martini. Never seen that and another in our party was charged for her drink and then also for the soda in her drink! The 3% "sustainability" charge on the whole bill was quite laughable! a wonderful Waygu steak, shoutout to Anthony on charbroil & John (the manager on duty) who quickly had my meal corrected when it came out with a sauce I asked for on the side. I had the pleasure of meeting Brian, a new member of the bar staff - he was kind, pleasant and had good conversation! he was training, and the young woman Bethany who was supposed to be doing so was very unpleasant- especially towards her trainee. the cause for my order being wrong was entirely at the hands of her, as he had it all typed in, and rather than making it a teachable moment she took over on the computer and sent my first course properly. however, she did not re-enter my special instructions that the bartender had in. whatever, all was corrected & enjoyed once I received it. my real concern, however is that I watched her grab handfuls of cherries at one point, without gloves - in addition to king ice cubes, repeatedly. not once did she ever wash her hands.... just ran a little water and wiped them on the towel they were using to polish glasses. I was there for just under two hours! I am so glad she was not making my drinks. It is always difficult to be a patron when you're in the industry, but especially when you're trying to treat yourself to an expensive meal after a long day of travel + sun at the beach and witness some disrespect and sheer hygiene negligence out of someone who is receiving your hard-earned dollars. alas, I'll be looking forward to catching Brian on my next visit or opting for a table if it's just her. read more

Been going to Timothy's for years, both the old location and the new. Never once have I been disappointed. Shout out to my favorite dish, Coconut and Macadamia Nut Crusted Grouper. Since it is pretty rare to see Grouper on a menu, it is my go to...bonus that it is delicious and always cooked to perfection. Timothys bar will use fresh mulled fruit in their drinks and the deserts are always fresh and scrumptious. Love the decor, and the fish themed chihuly like glass display hanging from the ceiling. Back at Timothy's for their amazing Bang Bang Shrimp! Fresh, dunked in an amazing peanut glaze with a touch of heat. This is what Sizer Appitizer Perfection Tastes like. This was a terrible experience. The waiter couldn't remember who got what drinks or food and was very slow. We had to flag her down multiple times. Told us Pom frittes is fried cheese even tho we told her it's French fries and we ended up with 2 helpings of frozen crinkle cut French fries... our friend got lobster pasta with no lobster and the waiter told us there was lobster when it was literally a tomato. Our other friend didn't like her margarita... waiter brought us another margarita and insisted she drink it even tho she didn't want it. When we asked for the manager, manager only did what was expected which was to not pay for food we didn't eat and drink. No apology for terrible service and experience she didn't make anything better. Overpriced and crappy quality food and service. Will never be back. read more

Went for the Wednesday night lobster special. After ordering drinks and an appetizer, we were told they were out of lobsters. They tried to sell us a $40 lobster pasta instead, but didn't offer any other substitutions. This was at 7:30, 2 1/2 hours after they opened. Spoke to the chef/ manager who pretty much told us "too bad, these things happen ". They don't seem to care too much about their patrons, I would suggest bypassing this establishment and trying one of the other restaurants in that area read more

Went for dinner on Wednesday with extended family and had the worst service I've seen in Michigan. It took over 90 minutes to get dinner including food for two young kids and two meals off the kids menu which we specifically requested be prepared early. And when it finally came at the two hour mark the meals were cold and soggy. Making young kids wait 90+minutes to after 8pm for any food is a sure fire way to ruin a family evening and despite our repeated requests for food or an explanation we were just told that Wednesdays are busy and it's always like this. No concern or apologies for the long delay. Maybe this works for older retired couples who have two hours to wait for dinner, but not a family friendly restaurant at all. read more

This is a tough one to write but I am going to do it anyway. My wife and I took our grandson out for his 18th birthday. We thought it would be nice to go to Timothy's which we have enjoyed in the past. We arrived for our 5 pm reservation and were seated on the patio as we requested. There were only 4 people there when we were seated. We got or drinks and appetizers in a timely manner and then the wheels fell off. We sat and waited as the patio filled up and it was soon apparent that everyone had their food but us. Our waitress pretty much ghosted us and we finally asked another waitress to find ours. She came bye and said our order was the very next one as if we were getting special treatment. My wife found a manager who said he would check on it. We told the waitress that we were over it and asked for the bill. Then the manager came out with the food. He seemed shocked when we asked that he box it for take out since we were 2 hours into the meal and had soured on the idea of this being a special event. We just wanted to leave. We took our boxed food and left after paying full price for everything without anyone offering any discount or more importantly acknowledging that there was a problem. We are done. Tonight at Timothy's was everything you could wish for in a dining experience. Ann's recommendations on drinks were in depth and thoughtful based on our preferences. The cucumber basil martini was crisp and refreshing and the new old fashion was a great take on a classic. The shining star is the owner, Tim. He's the textbook definition of hospitable, so gracious and so generous. The different sections of the restaurant have different feels so Timothy's is perfect for a casual drink in the bar or a romantic date night. I love the TVs in the floor of the bar, what an interesting touch! Timothy's will always have my business. read more

After talking this restaurant up to our out-of-town friends, we were mortified. The tone was set when they placed us (4) at an on octagonal table designed for six. Not so bad, however, the restaurant was nearly empty. The real disappointment was after each of us tasted our cocktails. Each one was terrible. In fact, describing them as terrible is actually a compliment. When we mentioned it to our server, we were then advised that the bartender was "willing to add more flavor" to each. We were also advised that it was their customary bartender. It was bewildering that the bartender did not come out, and even more bewildering that we were not offered a fresh set of drinks. Perhaps the restaurant is on hard times. We all felt the bartender thought each of us did not know what we were talking about, or were grifters. We don't know what she thought, she never came out to investigate. Unfortunately, this experience likely biased us for the rest of the meal, which was mediocre at best. The tomato soup was amazing, but that was about it. The service was adequate, and it was very clear that our server was brand new, and likely intimidated by the bartender. This has been a favorite restaurant of ours for decades, even before it was Timothy's. One of our children had their rehearsal dinners at Timothy's. These facts were politely communicated to our server in an attempt to convince him that the cocktails were beyond the pale horrendous. Every single one of the four. We are actually very stoic people who don't complain. We over-tip. We all had jobs like the people serving us that night. We are all professionals in service industries. We deal with clients every day of our lives. We also have substantial experience dining in every type of restaurant, diner, yurt, food truck, and grub hall all over the world. If giving no stars was an option, I would have chosen that option. 6:30 reservation for 6 was initially seated at a table for 4... after that correction, we sat for 22 minutes before water was brought to the table. After another 20 minutes we were brought poorly made drinks which tasted nothing like what was ordered. Another 15 minutes passed and our order was taken... after which we waited another 65 minutes before the food was brought to the table. The excuse: we ordered modifications... since when is a side order a modification Anyway... not interested in ever revisiting in the future. read more

First of all, I overpaid for our meal for 3 kids and two adults. Second, the staff couldn't have been snottier when we came to pick up our order. Nobody even talked to my husband when he tried to pick up our carry out order. If you have a dress code to pick up an order after spending time at the beautiful beach: state it in the pickup directions. We aren't dining in. We chose to chill at our friends' place (who is a local) instead. Portions and meals? Please ask other locals for places that are worth the money and offer the very LEAST: good customer service. Rough experience. Ate here while traveling from out of town. Tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but it was a fail from service to food. The waitress seemed busy and overwhelmed which is understandable in the restaurant business lately, but we felt like we were a burden to her the whole time. No introduction and tried pushing sides with no welcome or chit chat. Just very matter of fact. Food was very underwhelming and expensive for flavors that wouldn't rival applebees. Lacked seasoning. One dish was overcooked fish while the steak was cold. Definitely not herb crusted steak. Save your time, save your wallet, go elsewhere. read more
