Literally the best dentist I've ever been to. At 31 years old, all my life I've always hated going…read moreto the dentist. Dr. William is the best. The oral hygienists are super friendly, conscious, dextrous and caring. He was very gentle at pulling out a healthy tooth I didn't want anymore. He didn't recommend it but I hated the food getting stuck in there. He pulled it out with literally no pain or anything. Sometimes they clean your teeth with the water jet which signals every nerve in your body to sense pain but afterwards, it is worth it. I recommend this place 100% and I hate the orthodontist. I really like him because he's always straight to the point, very knowledgeable, and cool.

I am one of those people who has a fear of dentists. Blame my childhood dentist back in Gary,…read moreIndiana whose nickname was "the butcher". So, don't judge, but I had not been to the dentist in nearly two years, since I moved to Bloomington from California. I loved my dentist in California and so I took my time finding a dentist in Bloomington. (plus I just didn't want to go) Dr Arnold's reviews were glowing, and even though my partner has a different dentist here in B-town, I decided to try Dr Arnold based on Yelp reviews. The office is a bit hard to find if you aren't familiar with the Eastside of town. It is sort of behind the now-closed Marsh store, in a mini mall next to a dance studio and a waxing salon. Plenty of parking in the lot. Courtney was my hygienist today and she was wonderful. She listened to my ramblings about how much I hate the dentist. She was mellow and I felt like she gave my teeth a very thorough cleaning. She was just the right combination of quiet and talkative during the cleaning. (my hygienist in California was very chatty and it's hard to answer questions with sharp instruments in your mouth). There is a tv on the ceiling so you can watch while you have your cleaning. Courtney caught on fast that the show on the History channel was about mass murderers (not a very calming show) and she switched the channel to ESPN for me. Next Dr Arnold (Bill) came in and introduced himself. He was great. Very down to earth and approachable. We chatted a bit about California and then he began his exam. Again, great exam and he gave me advice about some tooth sensitivity I have been experiencing. Next appointment is six months from now and even though I will still be freaked out, I won't be AS freaked out. Definitely recommend. If you have been putting off a dental exam, go see Dr Arnold.

I saw the oral surgeon who visits Aspen Dental in Bloomington once a month. He was thorough,…read moreexplained the procedure well, and was very professional. I could not be happier with that service. But then I tried to get the results of the biopsy. First I was told I could get them as soon as they come in. Then I was told I would need to hear about them in person. Then I was told they won't arrive at Aspen Dental at all, but at the office of the oral surgeon. I would still go to Aspen again, in order to get the expertise of that oral surgeon. But their office staff needs a little help getting their policies consistent.

Updated, I am waiting to finish this review until I see how this gets resolved…read more Here's the update with my original review below. I didn't end up getting the root canal that day, but I still ended up having to pay $444 out-of-pocket! I'm disabled and on Medicare. They said it included the consultation, a $75 fee for some kind of pulp test, which really was tapping my tooth and touching it with something cold, which took about 30 seconds, and then the rest was the charge for the CBCT scan and X-rays. Now, had I known that I was going to pay that much for a consultation, which only included a short visit and the images, I would have gone to the best endodontist in town. Not to say that I didn't like the doctor, but that much money for a quick In-N-Out is ridiculous. I have traveled great distances to big cities to consult with a surgeon, periodontist, and tongue/airway specialist ENT, all considered at top of their field around the world, which is why I traveled to see them, and the most I paid was $350 per visit. And that was within the last five years. These visits were in depth. I showed up, knowing that I was gonna be there for a good hour, have a full exam, full images worked up, and leave with a very solid idea of what I needed to do next. Those appointments were well worth the money. So to go to this corporate chain office and pay this much for a consultation with an image of only my tooth and the bone around it, not my whole head and skull like I paid for in the other visits, seems like a HUGE over charge! I am shocked. I sat in the parking lot and cried. Before I left, I asked the office manager if she would make a request to the doctor on my behalf that he lower his fee, but they still took my $444 today anyway. I'm waiting to hear back, and if that works out well, I will include that here in my story and I will improve my rating. But so far we're not off to a good start. Here's the original review: I'm on Humana Medicare and the only endodontist in network is at this location once a month. I made my appointment, and they took my insurance info etc and I had a referral emailed to them. I was warned by my dentist that he'd seen some really bad implants done here at Aspen and he said make sure the endodontist is not the same as the oral surgeon who does implants. He said he's not the only doctor to see terrible work from Aspen. Yikes! So I showed up 30 minutes early for my appointment and it was a good thing I did because when I got here they said they didn't have my referral, which I know was sent. The woman in the office said she was out of town so it wasn't filled correctly. I was also blindsided by a several hundred dollars out of pocket cost that I was not notified of! Again she said that would have been done correctly if she'd been in the office. One excuse after another. I think her name is Carrie. I've seen other reviews here that mentioned a really rude office manager, and I will assume that this is the same woman. She was the manager. I already have enough frustration that I'm giving a negative review! Let's hope the root canal is better than the customer service.
