She also provided a diagnosis as to why I had an issue that she would have the doctor confirm. I'd give her five stars because it was a satisfactory and thorough cleaning. The three stars owe to the level of care and contact provided by the dentist (Dr. Tharp). I spent only 2-3 minutes with him despite being a new patient, with whose dental needs he was unfamiliar. He looked at my x-rays, spoke briefly with the hygienist, and did a brief look in my mouth (mostly at the troubled area). He did not complete any periodontal charting nor a dental probe. It was a very brief encounter, skipping many steps that all my previous dentists have completed. I was also dismayed to see a haphazard approach by both staff and patients in common areas to mask wearing (most were not) despite still being in a pandemic, despite a small and enclosed office space with seemingly older ventilation, and despite a city-wide mask mandate where exceptions would not apply in these circumstances. I would return for the hygienist, but not for the doctor.

The oral hygienists are super friendly, conscious, dextrous and caring. He was very gentle at pulling out a healthy tooth I didn't want anymore. He didn't recommend it but I hated the food getting stuck in there. He pulled it out with literally no pain or anything. Sometimes they clean your teeth with the water jet which signals every nerve in your body to sense pain but afterwards, it is worth it. I recommend this place 100% and I hate the orthodontist. I really like him because he's always straight to the point, very knowledgeable, and cool.

I loved my dentist in California and so I took my time finding a dentist in Bloomington. (plus I just didn't want to go) Dr Arnold's reviews were glowing, and even though my partner has a different dentist here in B-town, I decided to try Dr Arnold based on Yelp reviews. The office is a bit hard to find if you aren't familiar with the Eastside of town. It is sort of behind the now-closed Marsh store, in a mini mall next to a dance studio and a waxing salon. Plenty of parking in the lot. Courtney was my hygienist today and she was wonderful. She listened to my ramblings about how much I hate the dentist. She was mellow and I felt like she gave my teeth a very thorough cleaning. She was just the right combination of quiet and talkative during the cleaning. (my hygienist in California was very chatty and it's hard to answer questions with sharp instruments in your mouth). There is a tv on the ceiling so you can watch while you have your cleaning. Courtney caught on fast that the show on the History channel was about mass murderers (not a very calming show) and she switched the channel to ESPN for me. Next Dr Arnold (Bill) came in and introduced himself. He was great. Very down to earth and approachable. We chatted a bit about California and then he began his exam. Again, great exam and he gave me advice about some tooth sensitivity I have been experiencing. Next appointment is six months from now and even though I will still be freaked out, I won't be AS freaked out. Definitely recommend. If you have been putting off a dental exam, go see Dr Arnold.

The woman at the front desk acted like I was crazy out of my mind for saying I had an appointment today . They offered no apologies. and made no attempt to reschedule. They did tell me that I could wait an hour because the hygienist had a patient at 12:30, which was supposed to be me. Prior to this, I had billing problems with them. One time they didn't bill my insurance. When questioned, they said it was because the image of the card I sent them was blurry. Instead of telling me that it was blurry and asking me to send a new one, they just didn't bill insurance and kept sending me bills. ??? I sent a new clearer image to the 2-to-3 different phone numbers they told me to text it to and I guess one of them finally worked and they billed insurance. Then they told me there was a balance still due so I called and the woman, and over the phone she said the remaining balance was $23 so I paid it. Two days later I got a bill for $44. It's just these weird expenses and a very disorganized scheduling and building system. Today the woman at the front desk, even though I was clearly upset when I left shouted "have a nice day!" after me in a passive aggressive way. The hygienist I had was good but the billing and front desk staff are unacceptably bad. I'm happy to be moving.

His voice was loud enough to be heard by all the people in the office. I found his behavior grossly inappropriate and tried to process it with him in a reasonable tone of voice. He fired me from his practice on the spot, which was unnecessary since l would never return to a place where l am treated in such a way. He is nothing like Dr.Lawler, his predecessor who was kind and gentle. Prior to Blue Davis joining the practice, l had been a long-time patient and office staff has always been stellar. It is too bad they now have to work for such a tyrant.
