Literally the best dentist I've ever been to. At 31 years old, all my life I've always hated going to the dentist. Dr. William is the best. The oral hygienists are super friendly, conscious, dextrous and caring. He was very gentle at pulling out a healthy tooth I didn't want anymore. He didn't recommend it but I hated the food getting stuck in there. He pulled it out with literally no pain or anything. Sometimes they clean your teeth with the water jet which signals every nerve in your body to sense pain but afterwards, it is worth it. I recommend this place 100% and I hate the orthodontist. I really like him because he's always straight to the point, very knowledgeable, and cool. read more

I am one of those people who has a fear of dentists. Blame my childhood dentist back in Gary, Indiana whose nickname was "the butcher". So, don't judge, but I had not been to the dentist in nearly two years, since I moved to Bloomington from California. I loved my dentist in California and so I took my time finding a dentist in Bloomington. (plus I just didn't want to go) Dr Arnold's reviews were glowing, and even though my partner has a different dentist here in B-town, I decided to try Dr Arnold based on Yelp reviews. The office is a bit hard to find if you aren't familiar with the Eastside of town. It is sort of behind the now-closed Marsh store, in a mini mall next to a dance studio and a waxing salon. Plenty of parking in the lot. Courtney was my hygienist today and she was wonderful. She listened to my ramblings about how much I hate the dentist. She was mellow and I felt like she gave my teeth a very thorough cleaning. She was just the right combination of quiet and talkative during the cleaning. (my hygienist in California was very chatty and it's hard to answer questions with sharp instruments in your mouth). There is a tv on the ceiling so you can watch while you have your cleaning. Courtney caught on fast that the show on the History channel was about mass murderers (not a very calming show) and she switched the channel to ESPN for me. Next Dr Arnold (Bill) came in and introduced himself. He was great. Very down to earth and approachable. We chatted a bit about California and then he began his exam. Again, great exam and he gave me advice about some tooth sensitivity I have been experiencing. Next appointment is six months from now and even though I will still be freaked out, I won't be AS freaked out. Definitely recommend. I cant say enough good about Dr. Arnold and his great staff, I started with Dr. Arnold several years ago and he is the only dentist that knew how to get my mouth totally numb! He explained to me how my family from the region of the world where we came from, the nerve in our mouth ran different then others, while other dentists put me through agony, Dr. Arnold made a trip to the dentist so much better! read more

I'm an out-of-state student and I thought I had to wait until I was home to see the dentist, because my health insurance sucks and doesn't cover me while I'm away, but after learning I could use my dental insurance here, I made an appointment. They asked what was wrong, and I said "my tooth is all screwed up" and Dr Arnold looked, and replied, "Oh yeah, the front wall is missing." Every time I've had to get numb, including here, it takes 3 extra shots and even then I end up just dealing with the pain while they drill away. But Dr Arnold was quick and worked smoothly, efficiently, and professionally with his assistant. I study neuroscience and asked about the science of the mandibular block procedure (the numbing I had to get) and he knowledgeably explained using a visual model, and it was obvious to me that he actually understood the mechanism-of-action behind the drugs he was using, rather than just injecting me with some proprietary syringe + chemical given to him by some dental company. I was sure it would take at least 2 hours for them to do whatever they needed to do, but I swear it was just 30 or 40 minutes after filling out the paperwork that he sent me on my "escape route" out the door. The dentist always sucks. Even here. But I guarantee your experience will be less traumatic than you expect if you come see Dr Arnold. It has been about 8 hours, and the anesthetic is just now starting to wear off, so if you're like me and need a lot of numbing, keep that in mind. read more

Absolutely, 100%, the best dentist in Bloomington. He has given me a virtually pain-free root canal and cavity filling, and every single time I visit his office for a cleaning I am very pleased with how courteous and friendly and personable he and his staff are. I like him so much that I would seriously consider coming back to Bloomington for serious dental work if I ever moved away. If you call for a cleaning, you will have to wait a bit for an appointment. But if you have a more urgent or emergency situation, they will get you in ASAP. Oh, and his prices definitely seem to be cheaper than other dentists in the area as well. Dr. Arnold saved me the expense of putting a crown on a tooth another dentist wanted to crown. Instead, he shaped it a little to remove high points left by the other dentist. I was in and out of his office on my first visit in less than half an hour with no more pain or sensitivity in that tooth and the one above it. Thanks, Doc! read more

Dr Arnold and and the staff are amazing. Getting a cleaning feels like going to a spa. I trust them so much that they have done a couple of small cavities without Novocain. I was in a ton of pain recently, and they completed the first steps of a root canal quickly and as painlessly as possible. I was scared admittedly, but their professionalism and good humor kept me calm. Definitely the best dentist office ever. read more

I've had quite a few dentists over the years from moving around, but Dr. Arnold is the best since my childhood dentist. I had an appointment for a cleaning the other day, but had a sore tooth too. They said they didn't know if he'd have time to look at it, but he checked it out and fixed in a few minutes. I would have been in misery if I had to come back another time. I was SO happy! I have been a patient for a few years and find that Dr. Arnold and his staff are very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful with decisions regarding your oral health.
