The oral hygienists are super friendly, conscious, dextrous and caring. He was very gentle at pulling out a healthy tooth I didn't want anymore. He didn't recommend it but I hated the food getting stuck in there. He pulled it out with literally no pain or anything. Sometimes they clean your teeth with the water jet which signals every nerve in your body to sense pain but afterwards, it is worth it. I recommend this place 100% and I hate the orthodontist. I really like him because he's always straight to the point, very knowledgeable, and cool.

I loved my dentist in California and so I took my time finding a dentist in Bloomington. (plus I just didn't want to go) Dr Arnold's reviews were glowing, and even though my partner has a different dentist here in B-town, I decided to try Dr Arnold based on Yelp reviews. The office is a bit hard to find if you aren't familiar with the Eastside of town. It is sort of behind the now-closed Marsh store, in a mini mall next to a dance studio and a waxing salon. Plenty of parking in the lot. Courtney was my hygienist today and she was wonderful. She listened to my ramblings about how much I hate the dentist. She was mellow and I felt like she gave my teeth a very thorough cleaning. She was just the right combination of quiet and talkative during the cleaning. (my hygienist in California was very chatty and it's hard to answer questions with sharp instruments in your mouth). There is a tv on the ceiling so you can watch while you have your cleaning. Courtney caught on fast that the show on the History channel was about mass murderers (not a very calming show) and she switched the channel to ESPN for me. Next Dr Arnold (Bill) came in and introduced himself. He was great. Very down to earth and approachable. We chatted a bit about California and then he began his exam. Again, great exam and he gave me advice about some tooth sensitivity I have been experiencing. Next appointment is six months from now and even though I will still be freaked out, I won't be AS freaked out. Definitely recommend. If you have been putting off a dental exam, go see Dr Arnold.

I had issues with every single one of his fillings only 4 months after going, and another dentist had to repair his awful work. The hygienist was also extremely rough on my teeth too, causing lots of bleeding and not caring one bit. On top of this they refused to bill my insurance even though it was fully covered. This visit was a disaster and I greatly regret coming here.

They did tell me that I could wait an hour because the hygienist had a patient at 12:30, which was supposed to be me. Prior to this, I had billing problems with them. One time they didn't bill my insurance. When questioned, they said it was because the image of the card I sent them was blurry. Instead of telling me that it was blurry and asking me to send a new one, they just didn't bill insurance and kept sending me bills. ??? I sent a new clearer image to the 2-to-3 different phone numbers they told me to text it to and I guess one of them finally worked and they billed insurance. Then they told me there was a balance still due so I called and the woman, and over the phone she said the remaining balance was $23 so I paid it. Two days later I got a bill for $44. It's just these weird expenses and a very disorganized scheduling and building system. Today the woman at the front desk, even though I was clearly upset when I left shouted "have a nice day!" after me in a passive aggressive way. The hygienist I had was good but the billing and front desk staff are unacceptably bad. I'm happy to be moving.

For the first two years visiting this practice, I had nothing bad to say. The office seemed…read morecourteous, clean, and run well. I had to have some work done at the beginning of the year. We payed for the treatment at the time of service and thought that we were done. Several months later we received a bill from them, stating it was for my work. Our insurance sent us a statement claiming that it had been filed as something else. When confronted about the bill, the office staff treated me like I knew nothing, talked over me, and put me down, not letting me get in a word edgewise. We payed the bill, still not understanding why, and left the practice. Fast forward a few months, I found another dentist, and at our first cleaning, he saw what looked like faulty work. When confronted with it, Dr Allen called me a liar to my face and said so to the other dentist. When I called and asked him about it, obviously unhappy about being called a liar, he defended his position and HUNG UP ON ME without letting me say anything but hello. When I tried to say anything, he just talked louder and faster. I was upset, yes, but I was still trying to be curteous and polite. I called back to talk to him. He refused to talk to me, and had a dental assistant talk to me instead. I was able to have a conversation with her, one where I was finally listened to, and we were able to resolve the bill question, and talk about the work (not faulty). I would have been totally happy with this office if I had never run into any problems. Unfortunately, when I did have a problem, they would not take the time to professionally explain the matter. Only ignored my questions, talked over me, degraded me, and would not listen to anyone but themselves. Had they addressed the problems in a different way, they would still have my business. But when I can't trust them, or bring up my problems with them, it's time to change. And calling someone a liar without bothering to listen to them is NEVER ok, especially in a professional setting. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them because of this.
