On top of it, we thought we were laid-back/go with the flow people, but I'm pretty sure I should concede to being a control freak at this point in my life. I still don't know how they pulled off what they did, but they made our wedding absolutely amazing, and somehow made even the planning process pretty stress free (not easy to do when you decide to do a destination wedding 3-4 months out). The team truly delivers from every angle - style, creativity, efficiency, effectiveness - they helped us figure out what we wanted and were realistic with us about what what was doable. During our event, they managed everything down to a T, and did everything in their power to make it an incredible experience. After they saw I wasn't totally thrilled with the bouquet the florist brought (it was kind of giant), Jesse magically reworked the bouquet in the minutes before the ceremony to make it perfect. And they just bring joy and warmth to the whole thing. I now wish I had spent a whole year planning our wedding just so I could have spent more time with Jesse and Andrea (I basically begged them to be my friends in real life after it was all over). If you have a chance to work with AE, do it. There is a reason they have an international reputation - they are absolutely the best of the best.

MY advice: definitely get the handheld CO2 cannon gun! Our friends were speechless and have never seen anything like it. It kept the vibes up the whole night (just look at the photos). We were having a hard time finding a relatively younger DJ in the wedding industry that would understand our music tastes and came across the Bilo Events page. When I saw DJ DUBYANG in the lineup, I knew it had to be him! We know that he used to play at Arena SF, and that's exactly the vibe I wanted at my wedding -- club/EDM music. We were totally right because he mixed the music sooo seamlessly and felt out the crowd. No notes!! 10/10. Fire set. Everyone had the best time. We keep getting compliments from people telling us about the excellent music choices. He also had a great pool party playlist he recommended for cocktail hour that was perfectly curated. It was giving Vegas day club. :-) We wanted to change the timing on our processional and grand entrance songs and they were able to loop and cut those no problem, even when we asked the day before the wedding. They use a custom wedding planning & music curation app that easily allowed us to upload the exact version of music we wanted from Spotify/ Youtube/ SoundCloud for all parts of our ceremony and reception and write notes that we wanted them to pay attention to. It was really easy to navigate! Winston checked in on us multiple times throughout the wedding planning process and had a few meetings with us. So easy to work with and so nice! He was able to understand the vibe we were going for quickly. Wedding day, everything went smoothly, sound was great, and he was a great emcee as well. We would recommend him over and over again to everyone! Also, they offer a lot of other services, such as photobooth and studio-esque photography. If I had known they offered this beforehand, I probably would have booked some of these services through them as well to make life easier.

We were kindly welcomed by Leah and introduced to our planner, Yoko, who was amazing, carefully guiding and making our vision a reality, accommodating our preferences and budget, and helping us with the design and layout of the big day with all of our vendors. She provided multiple vendor options, communicated closely with them and us throughout the bidding and hiring process, and ensured we were all on the same page from planning through the walkthrough and up to the day of the event. One of the greatest things about this process was the clear, concise communication and organization that made planning, payments, and decision-making understandable, step by step, rather than a labyrinth of crossed wires and deadlines.  The day of our wedding was as effortless as could be. It was great to have the team from Two Perfect Events, along with Yoko and Leo, there to assist with setting up and taking down decorations and rentals, help guide guests, event staff, and our vendors, and ensure everything, including our deliveries and rentals, went according to plan. We also appreciated that our planners kept an eye on both of us the entire night to ensure we were doing well and enjoying the festivities, getting our food, making sure we were at the right place at the right time, and saving any items for our personal requests. We did not expect that Two Perfect Events would take behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the entire day and the in-person walkthroughs, which gave us a chance to reminisce on the process and quickly provide a glimpse of our families and friends outside the eyes of our wonderful wedding photographers.  We appreciated that our vendors were all in sync, and the coordinators ensured our entire process minimized the stress of planning, which was what we had hoped for all along. They provided us with good advice on choosing vendors, insurance for our wedding, and what to expect when working with multiple parties. It was evident that Two Perfect Events had considered multiple contingencies and scenarios in which snafus or unexpected issues may arise throughout the process, and we were glad that Yoko was always prepared for them, including giving us enough buffer time due to traffic delays so our guests could arrive on the big day.  Everyone complimented us on the evening, and it went by so smoothly. They commented that this was the least stressful and most fun wedding they've been to in a long time, which conveyed the vibe we were going for. We wanted it to be a fun yet intimate evening where everyone enjoyed getting together to celebrate, and we were delighted to celebrate that day with them. DSE also has great vendor connections and recommendations in the business, which was a huge help. When it came time for our wedding day, everything went so perfectly and smoothly. Kelsey and her team did an incredible job running everything in the background, always one step ahead and right there when we needed something. I had a blister and with the blink of an eye, Kelsey was there bandaging my toe with her first aid kit in hand. Their designs are sophisticated and fresh. Every detail was perfect. We felt like they were a true partner in our event. We were really glad that we picked a full-service, all-inclusive wedding planner so that we didn't have to worry about cost when we wanted another revision to our design board or an extra meeting with a vendor. We got to focus on only the creative and personal aspects of the wedding-the fun stuff! Design: My husband and I wanted numerous unusual components in our wedding (we had a hackathon at the wedding, for example), but we also wanted a beautiful, sophisticated event. While we could somewhat articulate the "mood" that we were going for, we didn't know the specifics of how to achieve that aesthetic. Kelsey, our planner, took our abstract ideas and translated them into detailed, high quality plans and worked with our vendors to steer the project toward our vision. Reliably Excellent Vendors: All the vendors that Downey Street works with are excellent. For each type of vendor we were to hire, we were provided a short list of their recommendations in our budget range with descriptions and links to their portfolios. They have worked with their recommended vendors extensively so they know their personalities and working style. It really is a world away from looking at reviews on The Knot. Integrating Personal Details: We had a number of small, personal details that we wanted to include in the event. With Kelsey's help, these were incorporated into the wedding in a way that felt intentional as part of the overall event. For example, as software engineers, we wanted our dinner tables to be numbered from 0 (rather than 1). Downey Street had a custom table number 0 made in the same style as the others. As another example, at our wedding reception, we had a group activity and wanted groups to collaborate using giant Post-It notes. Kelsey made this happen in a way that didn't detract from the overall black-tie atmosphere. She even ensured that all of the AV worked for the custom app we developed for use during the reception. There were also multiple components to our wedding that we wanted our family and friends to take the lead on planning. For example, we had a friend design a custom activity for the cocktail hour. Kelsey had no problem coordinating with them, keeping them informed of relevant changes in our plans to make sure that their components fit smoothly into the wedding. Organization: Downey St was extremely professional with exceptional attention to detail. For every meeting, we were sent an agenda beforehand and follow-up notes with action items afterward. Nothing fell through the cracks. Whenever we emailed Kelsey with a question or concern, her response was always timely and detailed. Downey St handled all contracts with vendors and kept a comprehensive, up-to-date budget. Our mock-up was perfect. There were just the right number of options and all of them were beautiful. We were able to make nearly all of the major rental decisions in one session. Kelsey also prepared us for every detail that could come up on the day-of, from ensuring that we had ordered food for the bridal suite to arranging for a larger table for the makeup artist. And on the day-of, Downey St staffed our wedding with an army of experienced planners who kept everything running smoothly. Accommodating and Supportive: There were a couple of areas where we wanted to deviate from Kelsey's professional opinion. For example, we were adamant that we didn't want charger plates, we chose not to drape off an unsightly part of the reception venue, and we wrote our own app to handle RSVPs rather than sending out paper invitations. In each case, she made sure that not only were our choices incorporated seamlessly into the event, but that they felt intentional. We also decided to use four locations within the museum for a relatively small wedding. Downey Street made sure that people got to the right locations at the right times and got to experience all the components of our wedding. At a few points during the planning process, both my husband and I felt overwhelmed. Kelsey made sure that we always felt taken care of, and she was understanding whenever we got stressed. Special Touches: At the end of the night, along with all of our personal items from the wedding Downey St had sent over to our hotel room, they included an adorable basket full of local treats and champagne. We felt like royalty. Honestly, for us, the wedding would have been worth it just to get to plan a a cool event with Kelsey and Downey Street. In the end, our wedding exceeded our expectations. It was the best day ever!
