I broght in a Hamilton Mantle clock that has been in my family since it was originally produced in 1976. The clock was damaged in a move and something altered the clockwork so that the chimes were off. I brought the clock in and within a day I got the call to come get it. In addition to fixing the movement, (Gary?) repaired two broken feet, replaced a missing door knob and gave the housing a rejevenation so it looks brand new. The price was more than reasonable and I could not be happier with the results. read more

Decided to give this place another chance after a terrible exp the first time. This visit was even worse. I think the old man who owns this place must have dementia or something. I came in for a link removal on my Omega Speedmaster. The old man took a look and my watch and told me nice watch great conidtion for a watch from the 70's and i respond to him no i bought this watch recently with the omega paper work stating this watch is from 1997. the old man starts welling at me saying its old... then another customer comes in and he puts my watch down and starts helping the other person. then he walks away saying i am making him nervous and to get the F out of his shop and go downtown. I have no idea what happend.... maybe he doesnt like to work on higher end watches? either way the old man is very rude and i will never go back to his shop. my visit was so bad i am gonna take the time to write this review on as many pages public as i can about this store. this guy needs to close his doors and maybe get his dementia under control... after i walked out i looked up another watch repair shop near by at 3017 N Broadway called Du'a watch& jewelry repair the man in this shop was great! read more

I just called this place to find out if they did watch repair. They repaired a grandfather clock for us and brought the works back when they said they would for the price they quoted. We were very satisfied with their work. I was surprised to see the negative reviews on Yelp. So I am going to take my watch in tomorrow and will write a review on the result.s. I'd hate to see a good service business go down the drain because people are more anxious to give negative reviews than positive ones. More later. 2-29-08 I took my watch in to be checked out. First, let me say that there appear to be two sub-businesses that make up Timekeepers: a Clock Guy and the Watch Guy. This review is not about the Watch Guy who seems fine. The Clock Guy, however, is another story. I had a very similar experience to Deborah S. I had first taken in a clock several years ago for repair, and it came out seemingly fine, though it just broke this week, so ultimately not a durable repair. Based on my original seemingly fine repair, I took in a different clock for repair when the battery leaked into the movement which then needed to be replaced. The Clock Guy indicated that it would be ready in a few weeks, and I then entered into a period of several months where I would check back and it was never ready. Half the time the Clock Guy wouldn't be there and I had to ask the Watch Guy to pass on a message. The Clock Guy always promised "next week", to little avail. Finally, it was ready, but he had lost the pendulum that went with the clock! He eventually ordered a new one that didn't really match. Overall a very frustrating experience. The Clock Guy is out of it, not into running his business and will waste your time. Take a pass. read more

I dropped off an antique clock for a repair estimate. I was in the area, so I stopped back in to get the estimate in person. It was affordable with a two week turnaround. I gave the okay, but three weeks went by and I heard nothing. I was worried, as the receipt states any clock left after 30 days is property of Timekeepers. I called several times and left messages with only one returned call, where the repairman said to "call me back". I continued my attempts to reach him by phone, with no results. The other gentleman assured us that he was giving the repairman the messages. After six weeks, we went to the store and he didn't even remember he promised to fix the clock, then offered a much lower price to do so (nearly half). I walked into Timekeepers because I've been wanting an old watch for a while, and the window display was too good resist. The old guy sitting in the back invited me in the "back and to the left" to look at a cardboard box full of chunky old watches. He introduced himself as Billy Bob Thornton (seriously), and offered me a cold beer. After about fifteen minutes I found a cool vintage Cort timepiece that actually fit me (I have unfortunately tiny wrists), and he said "That's a $150 watch, make me an offer." I told him I had $20 cash in my wallet, and he said "That's a gift, blondie." (I'm a brunette, but he said he was color blind) and explained how to wind it every morning. He also handed me a bottle of windex and a paper towel to clean it with, while I sat with his friend, also named Billy, who may or may not have wanted to sell me a motorcycle. That's cool, I'm totally into getting a motorcycle. He then handed me a wooden box to sift through of even older, cooler watches (I'll be back!), but I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to hang out with them talking about watches, motorcycles, and comparing our tattoos. I WILL be back, though, seems like a good spot to spend an afternoon just shootin' the s#!t. read more

Took in my favorite antique clock. Got a call the next day the it was fixed. Husband went in for pick-up and was told that they needed to unglue the face in order to fix the clock! Okay, except when they "unglued the face" they ruined the face of my favorite clock. The numerals 9 and 3 are now gone .. but the "idiot" who "fixed it" said it was now "running!" Are you kidding me! And, to top things off, even though the clock was ruined and was now pretty much GARBAGE!!!!! .. my husband paid this idiot his $29 for the "fix" and then went home and threw the clock away! He told the guy, 'why didn't you call and give US the opportunity to say RUIN THE FACE .. GO AHEAD! ... OR do not damage the clock in any way shape or form .. we'll pick it up "unfixed"! They may be great at replacing batteries (rocket science!) .. but at clock repair, they are morons! Buyer beware!!!!! read more

so here's my terrible experience at this place. the battery on my car's key fob wore out so I stopped at timekeepers on Belmont and the guy put a new battery in and charged me $30 !! . I didn't ask how much in advance and boy did I get ripped off . but that's not the half of it, for the next two weeks the fob worked sometimes and only sometimes . So I went back and he checked the battery and said it's fine/new. so not really knowing what to do or say I left thinking it was the fob. another week goes by with the same problem so I had to take the car to the dealer for other work and I told them to replace the battery for me . It's been 30 days now and it's worked perfectly every day so timekeepers either sold me a defective battery or perhaps the wrong size battery . All I know is it didn't work and for what he charged me, again $30, he should have automatically put a second battery in for me because he certainly could have afforded it. Where to begin, well first of all I highly recommend no one to come anywhere near this establishment, since this was the first and last time I will ever come here. It all started around October when I was recommended by someone that they repaired old clocks, I called them to ask if they fixed clocks over 30 years of age which they told me they specialized in repairing. once I brought my clock in for an estimate, I was supposed to expect a call from them which I waited for a few days until I had to call them back. Once I called back I was given a set price for the repairs that had to be done, and that repairs would be done in about a month. After a month has past I did not hear from them, I waited a week then I called back, they then told me it would take 2 more weeks for the repairs to be done which they guaranteed. Once again two weeks later still have not heard from them, I then called them which they then told me that my clock was to be ready the following Saturday after 2pm. When Saturday came, I went down to pick up my clock once I arrived, I was then told by them that my clock was not ready since they were waiting for the replacement motor to come in which made me upset. Since it took a 45 minute drive to get there where I stay from, which they could have notified me by phone ahead of time which could have saved me a trip, very unprofessional of them. I then get a message from them the following week and I was told that the motor they received was the wrong motor, how can someone in business that long make a mistake in ordering a wrong part for a clock. This time its around January and my clock has been there since October Once again no return calls, so I then call to find out on my status. All of the sudden they told me that they could not repair my clock that it was complicated and they could not really give me a specific reason why, maybe there were just lazy and just did not bother, I was just glad to get my clock back. So in conclusion unreliable, unprofessional a waste of time and it will be a waste of yours. read more

Great service, very polite. I showed up about 90 seconds before the scheduled 4 p.m. closing time with my broken wall clock, thinking I'd be told to drop it off and he'd fix it next week. He repaired it on the spot (the hour hand had gotten loose, and the dial to set the time had broken off several years ago) and never said a word about having to stay past his closing time. Charged me about one-fifth of what I was expecting to pay, and even offered to find me a new battery because the old one wasn't fully juiced. read more

However, I am writing because I recently gave them a valuable, old, sentimental watch to fix and they were able to fix it in one day for a very reasonable fee. I had tried to get this watch fixed elsewhere and was quoted a much higher fee. I am so happy that I brought the watch to Timekeepers instead. I will never go anywhere else now. read more

I live near this shop and thought it looked ... interesting, vintage, old school, charming... pick your term. When my watch - a $3,000 item - stopped working correctly, I decided to give Timekeepers a try. Repair was not cheap ($500) but at least the watch seemed to be working again. That didn't last long... within a week it was behaving strangely, so I decided this time to bring it to an authorized service center. They opened the watch and found several parts had been glued together, and others forced into place... long story short, no way to fix it properly now so the watch is a total loss. Hard to believe someone in the business could be so irresponsible - be warned! The shop looks interesting, but that doesn't translate to talent behind the counter. read more

Stopped in this afternoon to get 1 watch repaired and 1 some links taken out of my new watch. Both of the guys there were very nice and chatty. Also had some interesting stories of the building and previous tenants that we found quite interesting. After a few minutes of chatting with them and looking at the old clocks both watches were completed for a total of $12. Brought a $55 (originally) Timex Ironman waterproof watch here to get the battery changed. I had it less than a year before it died (annoying) and was expecting to have to buy a new one, but brought it into the hardware store next door to here to see if they could change the battery. They referred me to Timekeepers since they didn't want to mess with the waterproofing seal. He had the watch running with a fresh battery within minutes, for $14. I did see after getting home that someone else paid less for a batt change just a few months before, but maybe it was a different kind of watch, who knows. Whatever, it was fast, and now I don't need a new watch. FYI-cash only, no CC's. I'll return here if I need another battery changed or other watch help. read more
