How much does cleaning solar panels improve their output?…read more I had my solar panels cleaned recently by @sudandsqueegie. I had them cleaned only a few months earlier by another company, but I recleaned them because two panels were producing lower output and looked obviously dirty. The other panels did not look like they needed cleaning. I was surprised to see that the cleaning improved the output of all the panels from an average of about 340 Wh per panel to about 540 Wh, an increase of about 58%! The first picture is a drone shot of the panels, showing the two panels that were obviously dirty. The first panel picture shows the output of all panels before cleaning, and the second panel picture shows the output after cleaning. The panel output measurements were taken within 1 hour of each other at around 1 pm. It was a partially overcast day, so the output is usually much greater. However, it shows the amount of improvement possible with simple cleaning of the panels, despite them not appearing obviously dirty to the naked eye. It turns out the two panels that looked obviously dirty had cracks in the glass surface, and most of the discoloration was dirt that had seeped underneath the glass coating and could not be removed by cleaning. Surprisingly, not only did the surface cleaning of the two "dirty panels" improve, but it also improved the other panels that did not look like they needed cleaning! The original company that did the cleaning used a brush on a long pole to drip deionized water onto the panels. @sudandsqueegee used a long pole with two rotating brushes, which seemed to be more effective. They were very efficient and professional in their work. I recommend them highly.

I'm still delighted. The work was immaculate, the technician was polite and businesslike and tolerated our curious little dog. Since the last time Heavenly Views was here we had tinted film installed on our west-facing windows and glass doors, to soften the intensity (and UV) of the San Diego sun. I was a little worried that the presence of this tint film on the windows would be a problem or might get scratched. Nope. He cleaned the film just as easily as he cleaned the windows, and it's still as good as new. I'm not going to wait "a couple of years" before I hire them again. I need my windows to be this clean more often, and the price was quite affordable.

He gave us 3 different options based on our needs and he was able to work with us a bit on our needs / pricing so we booked him a week after our discussion. Even though I spoke to Jeremy about the process, I realized I was still naive about the work being done because when Kyle came on time on our scheduled day, I was surprised to see him pulling a huge tank full of water on a trailer flatbed with all these hoses and gadgets. I just assumed he'd hook up to our water house but it made sense once I started to see the tools he needed. Kyle immediately went to work and we watched from the inside as waves of sludge came pouring off the roof. It has been 22 years since this house was built and we've managed to maintain every other part of the house but I never thought about the crud that would accumulate up there. It gave me the creeps thinking that we would've never thought to do this unless our insurance threatened to drop us. I have to say, the process of scheduling and working with Jeremy was painless but the clean up was far from easy. We have a 4500 sq. ft house and an additional 2 car detached garage so a lot of surface space to cover. 22 years of crud, that sludge has to go somewhere. Kyle did an AMAZING job washing everything down around the house but the red coloring of the roof stained our concrete in areas so we to go over it several times with our own pressure washer after Jeremey left to get that coloring removed. We have a long drive way so that was the area of most concern. Had I known this would be the case, I would've paid to have the sidewalks done as well. So, if your roof is red, I'd suggest paying a bit extra for a thorough cleaning of walls of your home AND the concrete. We are so pleased with the service that Washed Out provided and would highly recommend. Several of our neighbors came by and were amazed at the work done so we were happy to share Jeremy's information. We will definitely add them to our list of regular home maintenance vendors and hope you consider Jeremy and his team for your pressure washing needs.

I had bought a power washer from BestBuy and tried to do it myself, but it took me an entire Saturday to literally do a quarter of what he did in almost four hours. Fito/KC Power Clean uses steam, some light chemicals (or you can say no) and industrial power wash equipment. I was also very impressed by how he cleaned the dirt splatter off the walls, and did an excellent job. My driveway and patio looked brand new! I'd recommend looking at their Youtube channel and watching what these guys are about. They seem to take care of their employees, their customers, and are growing the business, which is nice to see. I could have paid someone else less to use Lowes/HomeDepot pressure wash equipment and chemicals or simple green, and my patio would have looked just a bit better. But considering this is licensed, insured, and the equipment on the truck was professional (for example, they have some motor on it that heats the water to make the steam, and a machine that could wind the hose back up), I felt that there was significant value. I will be using them again for other services and have already recommended them to my parents and my neighbor. I will also be referring them to my HOA to do their pressure washing. Thank you!!
