I've been using Summit since ~2018 to handle my furnace maintenance. This summer I had them out to…read moredo a tuneup on my two A/C units. I mentioned to the tech that the upstairs didn't get quite as cold as I would like; while I suspected some of that could be system/ductwork limitations, he suggested that we could add a little more freon to the system in the event there was a possible slow leak. Ultimately, he ended up adding freon to both the upstairs and main floor unit, and unexpectedly much more to the main floor unit. The price after the fact surprised me, especially given that particular unit had appeared to have been working fine; the tech told me it was possible that unit had a leak. He informed me Summit would schedule a leak investigation if desired, but that it would cost a whopping $1,100, so I declined given the performance on that unit had been fine. Fast forward a week or two, and the main floor is quite hot. The ducts seem to be blowing hot air. At which point it became clear to me the unit has actually stopped functioning. I call Summit, which is busy with appointments and express my dismay that the unit stopped working after the tuneup. They tell me it may be a leak etc., but they will send someone out. I wait for the scheduled appointment and the tech that arrives this time clearly didn't look over the prior notes or photos before arrival. I explain to him the situation, and he was confused about which unit was implicated, and claimed that the prior pressure readings from the earlier tech clearly indicated there was a leak (which was not at all what I was told). He later retracted this statement after realizing what time of day the earlier appointment was and said those pressure readings were normal. He poked around briefly, but without much investigation declared the system to have a leak, and indicated there was an 80% chance of it being non-repairable. He indicated they would have to do the $1,100 search to locate the leak, and if it was in the condenser/evaporative coils it would not be repairable. If it was somewhere else in the line, it could be, but then they would possibly have to tear into my walls, etc. to identify the issue. When I asked how much a new unit would be, he gave me a rough quote of $15,000, but told me that they would have to look at specs to price out more specifically. I asked him to do so, given I wanted to know what I was looking at, and he appeared inconvenienced by the request and said it would take him an hour. (It did not.) During that process, the tech told me my ductwork was not sufficient and I would need to downsize my unit, and that the smaller size wouldn't be enough to cool the floor. He suggested my unit may have broken because I keep the basement vents closed, but then he also claimed these A/C units only last about ten years. The whole visit felt performative, and ultimately was much more focused on theoretical salesmanship than anything diagnostic. I was left pretty frustrated. I called out a different repair company recommended by a friend, and within 5 minutes he had identified the leak and the location in the coil. Contrary to what I was told by Summit, this company informed me the coil could be replaced and that I had many more years of life left in the unit. Within the week, I got the whole thing repaired and refilled for ~$1,200--not much more than the cost of a Summit "leak search." While I've had positive and knowledgeable techs with Summit, this whole experience was such a breach of trust that I will not be using them again. I had another company inspect my furnaces this fall for a fraction of the cost, and I will not be looking back.

Family-owned business and I liked the owner. I got a new home and decided to call them again, and boy I made a big mistake. Not sure what happened in the last two years but had to come back and change my review. First, they told me they would be here from 8-9. This was a time they offered up as I was trying to get them to come earlier, but decided it made more sense and since they said I would be "first up" on their schedule, I figured fine why not. At 9:20 I texted them asking what their ETA was. At that point I received a text changing my appointment to 9:30-10:30. At 10:50 a technician showed up. I showed the guy what I needed, mentioned that I'd used them before and said I just wanted the same thing they offered me last time. He said "our system is different now hold on" and he proceeds to pull out an iPad that has prices ranging from $780-$2,500 for the "platinum" package whatever the hell that means. I just needed a faucet replaced, which I thought would be no more than $400 or so (a little higher than the price I paid two years ago). He told me "well prices have increased" and I said not by that much. I asked him to explain how much of the price was parts, how much was labor, and he said it's the flat rate they charge for that job. When it became clear that he was not going to budge, I politely asked him to leave. There are so many other options, and maybe I should have been a little smarter about doing it in a cheaper way, but the way I was treated on scheduling and the company's scammy pricing was enough to have me come back and change my review.

He diagnosed the problem, and I had a new water heater by end of day (it was old and died a natural death). Also, he was a hoot, and enjoyable to work with. They are my go to company for plumbing; a family business, and woman owned, for this if you that appreciate that. Awesome!

The two installers showed up also on time and were quick and efficient. Even though they it wasn't part of the quote, they mounted the charger for me, and also installed the load management device into the panel (which was part of it). In the end, everyone else told me I had to get a new panel for $6k, and Austin and his team came up with a more affordable options and did an amazing job with installation. No surprises on the final price either.

I have no reservations in recommending this company. -------------------- I really wanted to give Just In Time a five-star review, because I genuinely think the issue I ran into was an honest mistake. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with how they handled that mistake. First, the good: I hired them to install a smart EV charger. They were super friendly, responsive, on-time, and the installation itself was fast and clean. Here's where things went sideways: they told me the job was complete, but the charger's controller--the part that actually makes it "smart"--was still sitting in the box. Without that piece installed, the whole point of the smart charger is lost. The technicians put me on the phone with the boss, who told me installing the rest of the components would be an additional $165. I was awfully annoyed, but I didn't really have any choice at that point. My issue is simple: I was clear from the beginning about the exact charger I needed installed. I showed the estimator the box and confirmed that their quote covered installing and integrating the smart charger. Some people might call this a bait-and-switch, but I don't think that's what happened. I think they either misunderstood the charger when quoting or were just moving too fast. An honest mistake. But the "solution" was to charge me $165 more for something that took them less than fifteen minutes. They had an opportunity to either (A) complete the scope they quoted, or (B) at least try to work with me on the added fee. Instead, I got a shrug and a "take it or leave it."
