Looking at the all Hispanic clientele, I was wondering if I should have brushed up on my Socal Junior High Spanish. The owner runs the counter; she's a jovial woman from Guatamala who speaks English with a thick accent. Order at the counter and have a seat. OUR ORDER: - Chicken Tacos - more like taquitos. These were small but had good taste and crunch. PS they do have regular soft tacos but the fried ones are more popular. - Pork tamale - they use pork rib meat so watch out for the bones. I liked the tender and tasty pork, but not the taste of the masa they used. - Carne Asada Plancha - again good taste (there's a theme here) but too much gristle. - Tortilla was thick: crisp on the outside and soft in the middle not the same as the Mexican type. - Pico De Gallo was salty I wouldn't mind trying out more things on the menu if I was in the area. Rating 2.5 rounded up for good flavor and friendly service.

It looked like a place that has not changed in many decades- so it had a vintage vibe. During my visit, it was quite busy as it was just after 12 noon on Saturday. I read that this place has very good pastries, so that is what I decided to purchase. There were two friendly ladies working behind the counter, so I called one of them to ask for help. She informed me that each item is priced by weight, so after confirming the prices, I purchased three cannolis (three different flavours) and one cream-filled doughnut. Then she let me know that I can pay for them at the checkout close to the exit. After paying for the items, I brought them home to try with my husband. We enjoyed both items- however, if we had to pick our favourite, it would be the cannolis. The exterior was so crunchy (and very satisfying) and the filling was smooth and creamy. Each flavour had the right amount of sweetness to satisfy our cravings! The doughnut was good- it had the smooth and creamy custard filling, but the dough tasted a bit hard (so it was not as pillowly as we thought). The next time I am in the area, I look forward to checking out their other items. If you are in this area, support local and check out this family-owned bakery!

The food is generally good, and I have enjoyed most of the items I have purchased. Unfortunately,…read morethe desserts have been disappointing and did not meet the same standard as the rest of the food. My biggest concern, however, is the customer service. The staff working in the food area appeared unfriendly and unwelcoming. During my visit, the employee at the deli handled my sliced mortadella carelessly, which came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. The cashier also lacked basic customer service skills--there was no greeting, no smile, and no "thank you" at the end of the transaction. I understand that everyone has difficult days, but customer-facing staff represent the business and set the tone for the customer experience. Good food can bring people in, but poor service can make customers think twice about returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and invests in improving the overall customer service experience.

There are so many things I already want to…read morego back and try--from the desserts, donuts, bakery items, and hot food to the drinks and, of course, the gelato. On this visit, I had the steak sandwich, mortadella sandwich, cold brew, and Nutella latte, and everything was delicious. The vanilla cupcake was especially good--super moist and not overly sweet. Parking is pretty limited, but if you arrive early enough, you can usually find street parking in the surrounding neighbourhood. Despite how busy it was, the service was incredibly quick. There seemed to be plenty of staff working together to keep orders moving efficiently. One bonus that I absolutely loved is that they carry Nutella and Orzo imported from Italy. It's nice knowing I don't have to fly to Italy every time I want to pick some up! Can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu.

I tried a few, and they were all quite good--great texture and just the right amount of sweetness. This shop is very popular, so you might have to wait a while.
