Tip: This Tim Hortons location is a standalone store steps away from Hoover Park Avenue. It's closest to the SportChek - Staples - Winners building, which serves more as a backdrop to this cafe.
I am not a regular Tim Hortons customer. However, I have been frequenting them more as of late. If you see more Timmy's reviews, it's because it's easier for me to indicate which stores I haven't been to before and need reviews!
I have passed by this store a ton of times over the last decade or so. I normally come here to shop at Staples, Winners, and SportChek. I also frequent COBS Bread, GongCha, and A&W that are closer to Markham Road.
This Timmy's has always had steady business at its drive-thru. While making my way to Staples et al., I'll see vehicles hitting the drive-thru.
Last Saturday, I was in the area and needed to use the washroom. I am versed dropping by any store that has a washroom in the area. However, I also wanted to get some Timbits. I decided to finally visit this cafe.
I parked in front of the main entrance. I went inside to use the washroom.
The women's washroom was decent. There were two stalls. The one that I used was clean. No issues.
I headed to the counter to look at Timbits. I typically get the ten-piece pack. It's perfect.
I got the most casual, cool, laidback man behind the counter. I ordered my Timbits. Most staffers simply give me random Timbits. I like it. I'm not fussy. It's fun to see what I get.
This man was special:
"Do you have a Timbits preference?" he asked me.
"Nope. I'm good with whatever you choose for me," I said.
"Do you like the Timbits with filling?" he asked me.
"Yes, they are awesome," I said.
"I love the filled ones. Most customers don't," he revealed.
"They are missing out on a good thing," I replied.
It was cool having a discussion about Timbits. I like filled and non-filled ones. This conversation was telling that I find filled ones to be a treat.
He didn't load all my Timbits up with filled ones. It was probably a 60 - 40 split favouring the filled ones, but I got a decent variety of flavours, both filled and non-filled.
I paid with my QR code from my Timmy's app that's tied in to my Timmy's gift card. I had it scanned. I had paid and collected points.
He handed me my ten-piece box of Timbits. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He reciprocated.
I headed to my car and drove home. I had my Timbits later on in the evening.
I loved the variety. Timbits are the perfect snack. They were fresh and yummy.
It was great to finally visit this store instead of passing by it to shop. I'd return here when I'm in the area.
