Decor/actual restaurant: This particular location is very small and tight with limited in-store seating. The interior is cute, I like the blue color theme they have here. For a restaurant designed for to-go orders, I believe that there could be more waiting room and a couple less chairs. Service: Like many "fast food adjacent" restaurants, the people who work there have good customer service but I imagine deal with the worst. I know they're doing great with the situation they're in. Kudos to them. Food: this is probably my harshest critique. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich, and it was fine. I don't believe it was worth the $16 I spent though. The chicken was kind of bland, tasted similarly to frozen grilled chicken pieces you buy from a grocery store. I do wish there was more sauce. The pesto tasted good but overall there was too much bread. I fear you would be better off making something like this at home for a comparable price. The bread was good, just too much. I don't want to base the menu on this sandwich alone, a lot of the menu options sounded delicious, but this was just the experience I had!

The Ultimate NYC Breakfast Sandwich…read more My husband rarely eats sandwiches, but he noted that the breakfast sandwich here was easily one of the best things he had during our entire trip to New York. There are several locations across the city, but a local friend recommended this for their food and proximity to the American Museum of History. Because it is incredibly popular, the cafe was very crowded, and the counter-service line stretched straight down the middle of the shop. It was quite difficult to find an indoor table that could accommodate our party of four, so we grabbed some of the outdoor seating instead. While the venue was bustling and the service was understandably a little on the slower side due to the heavy crowd, we still had a wonderful experience and highly recommend stopping by.

It was topped with shredded beef, jalapeños, caramelized onions, and drizzled in spicy chipotle sauce. Everything was perfectly heated and seasoned. The bread was perfectly toasted and it had a nice crunch. The indoor seating in the dining area is kind of tight, but the owner is expanding their location. They are planning to move the sandwich shop to a larger building next door. They are still keeping the current sandwich shop; it is being converted to a homemade dessert cafe with an expanded menu. #sandwichitos #northbergennj #holycow

For many of us, a sandwich was the first meal we learned to make for ourselves. It is, after all,…read moreone of the most versatile, simple, and universally beloved foods we know, with countless variations to satisfy every palate, dietary restriction, and time of day. The origin of the word "sandwich" dates back to 1762 in England, when John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, asked for something he could eat without having to get up from his card game. A servant brought him a bit of cold meat between two pieces of bread, and voila--the word "sandwich" was born! People from nearly every culture around the world enjoy countless types of sandwiches. Referencing small, bite-sized finger sandwiches, or "little sandwiches," served as a party appetizer, we decided to stop at this off-the-beaten-path establishment on Old River Road in Edgewater for dinner. Upon entering as first-timers to Sandwichitos, we were greeted by one of the owners inside with a cozy, laid-back, and welcoming vibe with Instagram energy. We managed to get one of five tables inside for about 12 patrons with an open kitchen and two tables outside, weather permitting. Soon they'll be expanding to a much larger place. The menu wasn't huge and featured various sandwiches with the collision of Dominican and Italian cuisines. We decided on the Red Machine, Jiu-Jitsu Steak, where the meat is marinated for 2 days, Cheesy Bird, French Cuban, Regular and Sweet Potato Tots. Some of us have gotten the freshly made fruit shakes to wash down our meal. We sampled the various ordered sandwiches and found every bite was incredibly flavorful. Each dish was well seasoned and perfectly balanced without being overpowering. The meal was somewhat pricey, but one could easily split it between two people or another meal. Service moves quickly. The staff were warm and welcoming. We had an excellent dining experience.

I saw great reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. I chose the New Yorker sandwich. What made it so delicious? The bread!!! I would just eat the bread alone if I could. I got the LA FAVOLOSA sandwich which was Salame Toscano, Pecorino Cream, Artichoke Cream, Spicy Eggplant. The sandwich itself was very good but it had way too much of the pecorino cream and artichoke cream. Both sides of the sandwich were drenched in it and it was overpowering in my opinion. If I were to get this sandwich again I would ask for a lighter spread of those two. I would come back here again and try the rest of the sandwiches for sure.

The absolute Worst Stewing Beef I have ever had, grass fed or otherwise!!!…read more History: I used to order my stew beef at a nearby farmers' market. Really good. BUT they closed the booth so I switched to H&C. It was more expensive and almost as good. Then I stopped eating beef. Recently I started making beef stew again. I got some grass fed at Whole Foods. It was okay but I wanted better. So I went back to H&C. It cost $14 a pound but that's food now. I noticed when I unwrapped the package that there was much darker meet in the middle of the bright red meat. Older? Hmmmm. So I made the stew. And the beef was like leather. I lost more calories chewing than I did consuming. Some of it was so inedible I tossed it. That was about 20%. As I said, the worst. I would have gone back to complain but the place is popular so I was seemingly in the minority and you know what goes with that dynamic. Naw I'm going back to WF or raising my own in my NYC apartment.
