I don't know why the other review so far has been so negative!
My friend who emigrated to Canada, and my other friend who's brother is over there RAVE about Tim Horton's (plus you'' probably remember it being mentioned on "How I met your Mother" if you partook).
I spotted it, and made sure to pop in at the end of a classic and totally classy family day drinking day.
I would probably recommend going in earlier, so you have more choice, but even with a half empty patisserie display I still had choices.
I can't comment on the coffee as I don't drink it, but the doughnuts were fab- I got a takeaway bag of;
The Honey Cruller
(lovely, interesting shape, sweet but not sickly)
Maple Moose
(Bit kitschy, tasted fine, I wouldn't queue for hours for it though)
Boston Cream
(This would be several of my friends' favourite doughnut- It tasted like a better version of Krispy Kreme's chocolate one, but still a bit sweet for me- I think I just prefer chocolate chocolate, to chocolate flavoured)
Apple Fritter
(Now this, I would queue for, fruity, sticky, just the right amount of cinnamon, not too thick a glaze, the goldilocks of doughnuts- I will be coming back when my Father isn't there to take it!!!)
Box of strawberry filled Timbitz
(I prefer my doughnut sugar caster rather than powdered/icing, and my jam raspberry to strawberry, but still good, I fully intend coming back and trying the "Birthday Cake" ones.)
The staff were lovely too- lots of seats upstairs- is definitely a functional fast food feel rather than a cosy place, but great to grab for the train or to sit in a nice park or something- I'd recommend the latter. read more
