Sea Waves Fish Bar is probably my favourite chip shop in these parts. The chips are nice and crispy, the fish is great but it is the doner kebabs that are incredible. I can't even attempt to intellectualise or rationalise this, there's just something magical about the way Sea Ways combine cheap sheep off-cuts, lettuce, pitta and mint sauce. The fries were average but the fish was actually the best I have had while in the UK this trip. I have tried it in several places and been disappointed. I personally don't like the skin left on one side which many places did. It can sometimes leave a fishy taste I think. There was no skin at Masons...the batter was very light and crispy and the fish was cooked just right. A+ Masons! The fries may have tasted better if I had eaten there....after carrying home they were not hot and that makes a huge difference with fries for me. They weren't bad...just not special in any way.
