The place is quite hidden away, and you might miss it if you're only walking up the Coleshill High Street. But if you park in Church Hill car park, you have to walk past L'Maiz to get to the main road. And it's definitely worth stopping by. Inside, you'll be immediately greeted by the Italian owner, who'll seat you in one of three tables. Yes, the cafe only has limited space, but I think this provides a great intimacy to the whole experience. Browsing at the menu, I was absolutely astonished by the wide range of food available. From hot roasts to toasties to breakfast to pasta, everything was freshly made by the owner himself. The pizzas (all of them!) particularly looked tempting, and I loved that you could get three size choices, and even just purchase once slice for £1 if you wanted! I did exactly this because I had eaten not long before. But if had I known how delicious the margarita was going to be beforehand, I'd have definitely bought a 9" (or maybe even a 14" for £9.50 if I was feeling particularly greedy). Next time I go in, I'm definitely trying the Hot Mexican Madness. It looks, sounds and smells amazing. Surprisingly for June, it was exceptionally cold outside; so I opted for a hot chocolate to accompany the pizza. The hot drink tasted exceptional, and beats any run-of-the-mill coffee shop version that I've tried in the past. No matter what time of the day, L'Maiz can cater for you. Personally, I must return for breakfast to sample the Full English (£3.50). It was also lovely to learn that the shop was named after the owner's daughter, which explained the homely, warm feel to the cafe.

The sandwich was excellent really: nice, proper chicken breast sliced, along with decent non-fatty bacon pieces, soft white sliced bread and an OK, jar supplied Mayo - for the price it would be daft to expect own-made. I'd give it a 8/10 in context. It wasn't just a mix from a large tub bought at the wholesalers. The chips were just about OK too. They were the frozen style ones, not proper sliced potato, so very bland, and probably would have benefited from an extra few minutes in the fryer. The tea was fine, but I was in a bit of a rush by the time it had cooled down so only finished half of it. There were papers to read, which was a nice bonus. No one said goodbye when I left.

I was intending on having a nice Frappuccino and a light lunch here but then they don't update the Starbucks card on the app so you cannot pay with it or collect points. Secondly, they don't even accept American Express as a form of payment. I truly feel that if a Starbucks opens anywhere then all should accept the app and American Express as a form of payment otherwise it defeats the purpose and basically comes down to why should I purchase anything from the Starbucks? I ended up buying a smoothie as I felt bad not buying anything but I really should have just left and not bought anything except I was waiting in a queue. A sign needs to be put up clearly so that customers know and prevent an unnecessary wait as some of us may depend a little too much on our phones as a form of payment and for example might not be carrying cash or keeping the cash for emergencies! Sweets, jams, ice creams, curds and other gorgeous products are available in the place that also has a takeaway menu with a range of sandwich and salad options. I would highlight their display of retro sweets that are probably successful among the children as well as their range of Mrs. Darlington products that are also a lovely suggestion of present, for sure. It's a lovely place to bring your family or friends for a tea or coffee and their facilities also include a beautiful Tea Room. It is a community cafe and it is vehicle for good. I enjoy the vegan nights, quiz nights, music nights, psychic nights, repair cafe. The staff are so lovely, kind and exceptionally caring.
