What an unexpected little oasis on New Street!! Great choice of food and drink items. It was a breakfast visit so I had a ham & cheese toastie with a cup of English Breakfast tea and my friend had the breakfast wrap with a cup of Moroccan mint tea. Large teas automatically came with 2 bags. My friend and I agreed that all our food and drink purchases were excellent, delicious and decent value for money. The staff were friendly, helpful, happy to answer questions, and appeared knowledgeable. A nice loyalty scheme where you get a free drink after purchasing 6 (hear that Starbucks!). As I was with a friend who is a wheelchair user its good to note that there is a ramp up to the entrance and also a nice clean accessible toilet as well as one other smaller toilet. I found that the wifi was easy to connect to and was usable and fast. No long complicated sign ups or passwords. A great experience from start to finish, I really can't find any fault at all. This will definitely be my coffee shop of preference when I visit Birmingham.

So far made two visits to this new independent coffee shop. 1. Coffee takeaway, Sat afternoon: Place was quiet but looked nice so intended to return for a sit-in visit another time. Fast service on takeaway coffee. Excellent choice of blends, can't think of better range in Brum. Good cups that don't burn your hand when walking through town holding your coffee. 2. Sit-in, Wed evening: Was pleasantly busy with good atmosphere and music. Nice decor, comfy seats. Had a very tasty and well presented hazelnut praline cake. I will be back!

This is a new coffee place on New street. Stumbled across this place by chance, was well decorated, open and friendly. The atmosphere appeared nice, there was a mass of mouthwatering looking sandwiches, cakes, and they seemed to have a wide range of exotic sounding coffee blends and other drinks available too.

They had so many appetising desserts! I tried their gluten free double chocolate cake, and their coconut something drink. The cake was not very fresh. It was a bit dry but tasted good overall! The coconut drink was tasteless. I felt sorry for wasting my money on it.

The best coffee in Birmingham, I usually swear by costa coffee but second cup is amazing, definitely the best hands down!!

I very much enjoyed my visit here. I always get excited to try a new coffee shop and I especially love it when there are lots of different options that aren't offered in other establishments. For that reason I will definitely be visiting again and again. I had the soya maple syrup hot chocolate and my word was it lovely. The staff were really helpful and some awesome music was being played...strange brew by Cream was my favourite. I visited on a Saturday and it was busy but I could still grab a seat. I also had a macaron which was 99p to take out, a lot cheaper than other places!

Quarter Horse is based from Oxford and the Birmingham branch is it's sister shop. The space here is vast with huge ceilings and windows at the front and back of the shop coupled with minimalist furniture, there is plenty of seating and will be very exciting to see all these full once the name of Quarter Horse name gets out to Birmingham. I enjoyed a silky latte this morning which was excellent in taste and kept me warm from the wet weather outside. QH are using Round Hill coffee beans at the moment which is a welcome change from the many other fine coffee shops in Birmingham. At the moment, QH is limited to hot drinks (they opened 2 days ago) so it will be interesting to see what food and other additions QH will provide over the coming weeks and really develop into a place with its own identity. But what is extremely exciting for coffee buffs is that on one side of the shop, a new roaster is going to be installed within the next 2 weeks! First in Birmingham! I'm sure I am not the only person who is thrilled at this prospect and cannot wait to see this in action. I have been to many coffee shops in London where this set up works very effectively so this will certainly be something Brummies can be proud of.

A small flat white and small cappuccino for £6 total is a rare find these days and we both loved our drinks. So much flavour and nice, strong coffee. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that the layout was a bit cramped and it was slightly lacking in customer service. If you're just popping in for a takeaway coffee though, this is a fab spot.

I knew I'd love this place as when I walked in, the smell of roasting coffee flew into my nostrils, Faculty literally had me at hello. So more about this love affair, the coffee is brilliant, the cakes taste fantastic and the tea is a relaxing and soothing as the cute little tea pot suggests. The staff working were friendly and happy to offer advice (to me and another customer who had 21 questions about the origin of the coffee) - credit where credits due, the young chap answering knew the answer to every question! They are also linked to next door, a sandwich shop which is perfect for lunch and you can even order from one side and go and sit in the other or vice versa. Owned by the same husband & wife partnership and matched with the same awesome decor. It's not often I'm in Birmingham but one thing for sure is this fling is sure to continue every time I venture in!

It's a good location just a short walk from Colmore Row and St Philips Cathedral square (also known as Pigeon Park by the locals). The cafe itself is actually really nice. It felt lively but not busy when I walked in. I had a quick look at the menu and, as I was really rather hungry, I went full on hipster and had the Avocado Smash with bacon and poached eggs. I tell you what - this cafe is not cheap. The avocado smash and a coffee cost me more than £10. Can you believe that? In Birmingham! It did taste good but for that amount of money I would expect to have had 2 slices of toasted sour dough with avocado along with the bacon and eggs. The coffee was delicious so I would go back for that alone (and it wasn't extortionately priced).

This branch of Urban Coffee has a small mezzanine area where they sometimes have events or private hires making it more versatile than some of the other cafes. Due to that and its location you get a real mixed crowd of people in the store all the time. Everyone from young creatives right through to suited and booted businessmen are regularly enjoying a cup of the dark stuff in the chilled out and laid back space. My personal favourite beverage from here is a skimmed hazelnut latte....if you are into hazelnut flavoured drinks they syrup they are using here is AMAZING.

Located right opposite the swimming baths and gym, I always end up having a brew before a gym session. Being this side of Harborne, works to Boo Boo's advantage as you don't have to take a walk down the High Street which can seem like a mammoth task on a Sunday morning! Every time I have been in, it has been very busy. With a couple of outside tables and a massive window, it's great when the sun is shining on us. The Coffee is most excellent because they use Allpress espresso beans from London which gives their drinks a massive edge over most places some places in Birmingham. Single origin is offered though a Chemex, another brew method not often seen in the second city. If Coffee and Tea isn't your bag then I can recommend one of the many smothies they offer, which can have protein added to them. Boo Boo coffee is very family friendly and you can pop your little ones in the play area they provide.
