HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE. One star is even too much for these guys!! Let's start with the fact that they make you think you have purchased a vehicle only to find out you haven't really. So here's what happened, I found a CX-5 that they had and loved it. I went to go look at it and see if they could get me into it, everything went great. They made it work with my trade in, the monthly payment I wanted to have. Then a couple days later me and my fiancé get a call from the finance lady Karen, and she needs our pay stubs, well alright so we try to get them to her. First her email was not accepting my emails that I was trying to send to her that had my pay stubs. Then the fax number was wrong or something. We'll since we both work, me and my fiancé figured that we would call them the coming weekend and find out why we weren't able to get our pay stubs to them. Then Friday, we receive a letter from them stating that they weren't able to finance us (uh why sale a car before it's financed!?!) So we planned on just going in the next day to talk to them, that Saturday morning Karen calls us and says to my fiancé "you can't be the cosigner so Sydney needs a different one or 5,000 down" first off not every one has 5,000 to put down on a vehicle! then Karen says "or you'll need to give us the car back" so we head in there to talk to them. When we got there, they didn't even want to help us, the finance guy Ken? Smart ass guy, in general just an asshole. Did not want to work with us and said Karen called us 8 time, she absolutely DID NOT. In the end, we left in our old car and will NEVER do business with these ass heads again. And I definitely don't recommend anyone to do business with them. I will be sure to let every one that I know, not to do business with these guys. Our salesman was great, wasn't even aware of what had happened when we went back in. But both of the finance people are very rude, and very unpleasant. We wanted to work something out with these guys, but the finance guy was very very rude, that is definitely not okay to treat customers. I wish I would have read these reviews BEFORE I went and talked to them. read more

Brian, my service advisor, is great at what he does! I had to come in for a recall repair and oil change, but needed a service on a few other things. Brian explained everything that needed to be done with a realistic estimate of how long it would take. My biggest issue with most dealerships is they say 1 hr, and you are there for 2.5 hrs. I had lots of work to do so I didn't mind the wait. I will definitely by coming back to this dealership for any of my maintenance needs. read more

We were helped by a gentleman named Matt and his supervisor named John and both were extremely helpful. They were very knowledgeable and patient with us and our kids running around everywhere, and most importantly not pushy. I came here with my daughter to help her with the purchase of a new 2016.5 CX5. The msrp on the vehicle was $25995. After the whole song and dance they came back at $25400 as the best price they could do for us. The sales manager was rather abrupt and basically said that's the best any Mazda dealer will do. Take it or leave it. I left it and went to Orem Mazda and saw one with a MSRP of $26310. I paid $24000 for a better equipped car at Orem Mazda. That's a pretty big savings compared to D Dhale Mazda. I was also told about 0.9% APR financing and that saved me over $2000 more in interest. I was never even told about the low interest offer at D Dhale Mazda. All in all I Saved over $4700 and got a better equipped CX5 elsewhere. I will not return here for any vehicles ever again. Not impressed with the price. read more

Everyone was very nice and professional. They went above and beyond to get us what we wanted and they were not pushy. They genuinely cared about us and wanted what was best for us. We went to that location several times and then finally bought but it was our choice. It was never forced and we were able to take it at our own pace and know that that was the car we for sure wanted. The BEST car buying experience ever, and I have bought many cars over my lifetime. I moved back to Utah from Phoenix with my beloved 2008 MX-5 Miata. When the first big snow storm hit, I was sliding back and forth sideways up State Street. Ok as is evident by now ole Jake doesn't like to say bad things about people, but how do I say this, ..... these weren't people they were vultures. We come in looking to test drive a car, they tricked us into signing something that we didn't have to sign, which end us up into having to buy a car, for significantly more than we need to spend, they were very very pushy salesman, I tried looking into the legal side but because we signed a contract we have to swallow it, because we didn't have to sign it (the only thing buzzards, I mean vultures, I mean salesman, were missing was a gun to our head). DON"T BUY A CAR THAT THEY HAVE PAINTED OR BUFFED. OTHER WISE THEY ARE GOOD TO WORK WITH! Hello I not one to complain and this is the first complaint I have ever done! As far as service I was happy the salesmen was punctual and helpful. The sales manger was willing to take care of my needs to make the deal happen. But The company that the use to paint and detail their cars DOES NOT do good work. They buffed the part of the truck so much that the clear coat went bad with in 3 months. They also repainted other parts of the truck and with in six months the paint was coming off on most the edges. Peeling away more then a half of an inch next to trim and door handles and any other edge that takes time to sand during prep. I am pretty disappointed because I payed for top quality and that is not what I got! I take exceptional good car of my cars so they last! read more

Lies, lies, and cover-ups! Our experience was at southtowne Mazda but it is the same owner. wasWe simply were sent home with the wrong vehicle and they would not honor their word. They told us and showed us a car with features that convinced us to buy the car and then sent us home with a car that did not have those features. If I could give no stars, I would. I loved Mazdas. I had a 1989 Mazda 626 that lasted until 2005. At that time, it needed a new clutch. We replaced the clutch and gave the 626 to my nephew. It continued to run for 3 more years. You can see why I liked Mazda. Then we bought a 3. With the 3's low profile tires, the wheel rims kept bending with normal wear and tear. At $600.00 dollars a piece to repair the 3's rims, we traded it in for a 6. The 6 had the same wheel rim problem as the 3. I learned my lesson with low profile tires. We then traded in the 6 for a turbo 6X7 in 2007. As you can see, I still believed in Mazda. We loved the CX7. I felt like Mazda had redeemed themselves with the CX7. We take our cars in for their scheduled maintenance. When we went to D. Dahle Mazda of Murray for scheduled maintenance in October of 2016, we were told that the turbo had failed on our CX7. We replaced the turbo at a cost of $2500.00 dollars. That's a lot of money for 2 school teachers. One year and 4 months later (February of 2018), the turbo failed again and needed to be replaced. Of course, the warranty was for 12 months. We missed it by 4 months. At that time, 2 Mazda service technicians talked to us about CX7s and CX9s having turbo problems. We looked online and read several stories about people who were frustrated with turbos on CX7 and CX9 Mazdas. As we understand it, the turbo should last as long as an engine. I was told by the service manager at D. Dahle that the person who looked at our CX7 was new and had possibly misdiagnosed the turbo problem. He offered to meet with us the next day at 5:00 pm so he could take a look at it himself and determine for sure if the turbo was faulty. When we came for the appointment, he was not there. Another more experienced technician took a look and said it was indeed the turbo and it needed to be replaced. This technician also told us that the CX7 and CX9 turbos were problematic. That's a total of 3 different technicians who admitted that Mazda had produced a faulty part/system. I cannot believe Mazda produced faulty turbo systems in the first place--and then sent a new one, also faulty, to replace the first turbo in our CX7. We left D. Dahle and drove the CX7 directly to Strong Volkeswagen. We traded it in that very day (February 27, 2018) for a 2017 Beetle. Strong VW gave us a LIFETIME WARRANTY on turbo, power train, and engine. My bug drives like a dream and I LOVE it. We are very disappointed in Mazda and D. Dahle. We were cheated and both Mazda and D. Dahle have dismissed us. They tell us that because we traded the CX7 in that day, there is nothing either of them can do for us. I can think of a few things they could do for us. I trusted Mazda's quality and service. I don't anymore. I suggest you buy a VW, Honda, or Toyota if you are in the market for a car. Mazda's quality and service is not what it used to be. I tell everyone about my experience. So far, I have cost Mazda 6 sales. My husband teaches High School. His kids often ask him what kind of car he drives and what kind of car he recommends. He tells his kids, "Anything but a Mazda." He says that often. Almost every day as his kids are leaving his class. He says, "Remember, don't buy a Mazda." He has had several kids report to him that they indeed, have NOT purchased a Mazda. Word of mouth is important. People spread the word about a business, especially when they have been treated badly. read more

Never before have I been more verbally insulted when trying to give someone my money. I believe that due to the large number of dealers in this state, if I can't get a competitive deal I will go elsewhere. My requests for a deal I considered fair were met with animosity, the salesman's responses laced with condescending remarks - "Do you own a dealership?", "You think you know how this goes?", "What, do you want the car for free?". After reportedly enraging the sales manager, they agreed to our deal. We go over to finance just to have a bait and switch played on us. At this point we decide to leave, but not without being insulted a few more times. If you are set on a Mazda, go to Bountiful. The 5 minutes I have spent on the phone with them, as well as their online reviews, has me heading there. read more

We took our 2004 MPV in for a diagnostic last spring after shuddering in the drive column. Codes came up for repair of coil packs and possibly an injector. Three new coil packs were moved to the rear and older packs moved to the front, and all plugs replaced... all for just under $1000. Ouch. Fast forward one month and the check engine light comes on and the same shuddering problem starts again. Told by Nate that we would be charged another $90 to run another diagnostic. Having just spent $1,000 a month ago, we passed. Fast forward one more month, now May 12, and enter Dave Spencer, the Service Manager. He told my wife to bring the MPV back in and considering the previous repairs, they'd run a diagnostic for free and let us know what was wrong. When called to pick it up, Nate told her that we owed $90-ish for the diagnostic! Dave apologized for the miscommunication and stated that if the diagnostic showed that any previously replaced part came up, then the cost of the diagnostic was covered and the mechanic would now pay for the part / labor to replace it. Dave mentioned that he could just write it off, but that he had to pay the mechanic still. I suppose mechanics don't make an hourly rate already at D. Dahle Mazda, so after a lovely discussion over policy, Dave then offered to split the diagnostic price. We then attempted to contact Dave's Manager, Rob, but found that he was out until the end of May and no suitable personnel were on staff above Dave. So we paid half of the fee to get out MPV back and go home. The fact that this service department isn't recognizing the correlation between parts and repairs incurred by problem parts astounds me. That and the fact that Dave Spencer honestly thought that getting a couple of months out of a running-like-new repair was worth the original $1,000 we spent. I certainly expected my MPV to run better MUCH longer than a couple months for my HARD EARNED cash!! So instead of getting this MPV repaired (coil pack #4 only) for the tune of $580+, and possibly a new catalytic converter at $1,000 or more at this dealership, I repaired all three coil packs for about the cost of one Mazda dealership-priced coil pack and repaired them in about 10 minutes.... A little research on the internet goes a long way folks!! I hope that the $50 bucks I paid for diagnostics and to get my MPV back was worth letting ANY future repairs for any of my current and future vehicles walk right out the door Dave! To us, the coil problem on MPVs will cause us to seriously reconsider buying another Mazda vehicle without CAREFUL research. That reconsideration will cause me to overlook the D. Dahle Mazda lot. read more

Apart from the troubles I've had, my most recent adventure makes me the most livid. They sent me a letter for either a free oil change or a cabin filter, that had an expiration date. I received a call offering me a free oil change. Great! Now I can use the letter for a cabin filter! NOPE! The letter doesn't state it can't be combined with other discounts or offers, they failed to call after the letter's expiration date to ensure no confusion, and because I explained their fallacy, they refused to offer both services for free. The service manager said, "you can't argue your way into getting them both for free." I'm sorry you guys screwed up, but thanks for being incredibly rude and not owning up to your mistake. I spoke with the General Manager, who told me that there's NO WAY Mazda can let them give 2 services away for free. You're telling me, that MAZDA can't AFFORD to own up to a $40 mistake? REALLY?! They will sell you a car prim and proper, but they don't care once they have your money and you're out the door. I've now been waiting for 2 hours. read more

Sub-par service that cannot be trusted. My wife and daughter took their 2014 Mazda 3's in for an oil change within 3 weeks of each other. The service write up states all fluids topped off and vehicles vacuumed. Fluids were not topped, in fact, the oil level on my daughters car is low. The cars were not vacuumed either. About 4 weeks earlier, my son took his RX-8 in for a diagnostic check for validation that the car was running great so he could sell it. They asked to rotate his tires so he agreed. Well, his lug lock socket never came back with the car. He called the next day only to have the dealership deny using it and accidentally leaving it in the shop. The person that took the call didn't even ask the technician, he simply replied that it was not in the shop. Very disappointed that my wife and daughter cannot trust the service department from where they purchased the vehicles. They will use other dealers for future service and will hope for the best, at least better service. As for my son, he was looking to purchase a car from D Dahle but changed his mind after his incident in conjunction with the 2 recent oil changes. In the end and unfortunately, Jiffy Lube does a better job with oil changes, topping fluids and vacuuming. Jiffy Lube did all right with my wife's previous car before getting a Mazda and using the dealership for routine maintenance. read more

Will never do business with these guys again and also make the recommendation to others to steer clear. I bought a used truck from them and under recommendation of the finance manager and salesman, although I was hesitant to do so, purchased their after-market warranty specifically to cover any issues with the 4WD ($2,200 for a comprehensive 3 year warranty - so not an insignificant amount). I started having issues with the 4WD so I took it in to have it repaired. I was told that the warranty would not cover the issue as the specific part needing replaced was not listed and if I didnt like it to call the warranty company myself. I expressed my displeasure with the situation as I had purchased the warranty through the dealership and hoped they would fight for the me their customer. While the service rep was courteous, he never made any offer other than to fix the part for an additional $700. After expressing their understanding for my situation they still asked that I pay the diagnostic fee of $60. Poor poor customer service and a lack of integrity and honesty from the finance and sales departments. Will NEVER buy from this dealership again. read more

Beware their dishonest business practices! I reached out to D. Dahle about a Mazda6 I was interested in. I gave them all the info on my trade in and told them the price that I would be willing to pay. I received an email from a salesperson saying that they could make that deal work. I called to confirm the price offered and explicitly told them that I did not want to waste my time or leave work if they could not offer the car for that price. I was assured that they could. I took off work and drove from Utah County to Salt Lake. The salespeople were very nice and everything seemed in order; however, when it came time to complete the purchase the price was $2,500 greater than the offer (although the value I was asking for on my trade in was correct). I explained the offer and the manager said that it wasn't possible that I could have received that offer because the dealership would be losing money on the vehicle. I showed emails and text messages that confirmed the offer and the manager said that it didn't matter because the salesperson who had made the deal didn't have authority to set prices. The manager was unwilling to honor the offer that had brought me to Salt Lake in the first place. I understand that this is a business and the dealership can't sell their cars at a loss; however, it is extremely dishonest to promise a price to try to get the customer in the door and then change the offer when it comes time to finalize the deal. read more

Absolute worst customer service from the General Manager. We purchased a car and part of the agreement was they would have the new car delivered within a week and we would rent a rental vehicle. 9 days after the contract was signed they still did not deliver and would not commit to a delivery date. When asked if we could have a loaner car Richard Benz, the general manager, laughed in our face and told us too bad we had to deal with it. Richard refused to help the situation and instead mocked us, was sarcastic and made fun of us in front of his other employees. It was the worst customer service we have ever experienced. The owner of the company fixed the situation, however, he was in the room with Richard when he was insulting us and did not stop him. I would not recommend going to this place. If we had not signed the contract before this all happened we would have walked away and went to Bountiful Mazda. I recommend Bountiful Mazda any day over these guys. read more

Holy upsell! I knew exactly what I wanted, a CX5 sport, standard... no frills. Was told I really should get AWD and that the 2.0 liter was under powered. That the auto transmission was the way to go... I would have ended up with a more expensive car that gets worse gas mileage than my 14 year old car. Never really told me a price, said it would have to be a special order. Made it sound like it was soo much work and that the higher end (in stock) was what I really should buy. In the end I felt like I was being mocked for wanting a car that gets better gas mileage. Its no wonder Salt Lake has some of the worst air quality in the nation. Shame on D Dahle! read more

We bought a new vehicle through D Dahle Mazda couple of years back. At the time of signing the paperwork, they tried to rip-us off by sneaking in additional charges and putting in different rates. For instance, they tried to charge $400 for filling nitrogen in the tires. The atmospheric air has 78% of Nitrogen in it. Why on Earth would I pay additional money to get something that is already available in nature for free! It was just like a sleight of hand. Fortunately, we went through the paperwork carefully and was able to catch that and other sneak-ins that we never asked for. At that time, there was a Pakistani financial guy and an African-American sales manager handling our sale. If you decide to buy a vehicle through them, GO THROUGH THEIR PAPERWORK EXTRA CAREFULLY, before signing them. Firmly say no to additional charges. You will most probably never require them at all. Even if you want any of those additional services, you can get them at competitive prices, elsewhere. If the charges are different than what you initially agreed to, stand your ground and ask them to remove it. If not, just walk away. Don't let them strong-arm you. Their service department is equally dreadful. Recently, I took my vehicle to their service center because of a recall regarding software issues. Without my permission, they did a maintenance check-up and wanted to change this and that. I told them that I only needed the mandated software upgrade and nothing else. After a couple of weeks, I noticed oil leaking from my vehicle. Upon inspection, I found that they have loosened-up my oil drain plug and left it leaking! If I had not noticed it, I would have been left with a seized-engine! read more

Our CX-5 buying process was fairly painless. Started by asking for a quote over email and was provided one that matched the prices on research sites like KBB and Edmunds. The test drive went fine and there was really no negotiation - they even asked about affiliation with Costco, AAA, etc. to see if there was a better deal. They gave us a decent trade (again average of KBB and NADA) on a tough vehicle to trade in. They asked us about all the extra add-on and financing sugar, but we politely declined and there was no pressure. Our sales rep, the sales manager, and the finance manager were all personable. We get our first service free, so I'll check back in on that aspect of the business. read more
