I was recommended this place so I went to try it for breakfast. I had no idea that this place was popular so I was surprised that there was a rather long line out the door. The wait to get in was about 20 minutes, and once in, there was another 5-10 minute wait to place an order. They serve bagels (of course), different flavors of cream cheese, and sandwiches. When ordering a sandwich you can choose the type of bagel you want it on, as well as what flavor of cream cheese. I ordered a Chicken Caesar with a Cacio e Pepe bagel and sun-dried tomato cream cheese. It tasted great! I loved how I could taste the pepper of the bagel, and the chicken was cooked well. My only complaint is that I felt that the bagel didn't have the chewiness I was expecting for a bagel. The texture was moreso like a tough sourdough bread in a way. I also ordered a Tilly Crisp bagel as is with some plain cream cheese. As a spice fiend, I loved the extra kick of the spice flakes that were mixed within the bagel.

I'm not a tough bagel critic but I think they make very solid bagels and have unique, tasty sandwiches. Wonderful staff!

These bagels are delicious! Staff is super friendly. Sourdough bagels with many flavors and features a flavor of week. Carbonara bagel was so yummy, bacon black pepper and hint of cheese. Latte was good and many different syrups to add in. Also offers a few hot sauces to add to bagels/sandwiches. Will definitely be back to try more!

According to Ancestry.com, I'm 96% Everything Bagel, so you should feel confident in this recommendation (and ignore some of the kvetching by others who are clearly less qualified). First, let's acknowledge that the Lakeview/LP area has been seriously lacking in proper bagel shops for some time. More recently, we have been blessed with a few really good options to satisfy our bagel nosh cravings. Tilly's is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and is serving some really delicious and creative bagels and schmears. In addition to the standards, they are whipping up tantalizing options like CACIO E PEPE, TOMATO GRILLED CHEESE, and how can you not be impressed with the CHICAGO which is crafted to taste like a Chicago Style Hot Dog?!?! Their schmear game is just as strong with flavors like CARAMELIZED ONION, CHIVE & BACON, SUN-DRIED TOMATO, HONEY VANILLA, and GIARDINIERA! With a variety of bagel sandwiches for those looking for a more hearty meal, there is something for everyone. The service is friendly and the space is comfortable for dining in. They even offer points through Toast for those of you who like deals. This mensch recommends Tilly's.

Opening day the line was literally down the block all Generation Z to Millennials. 2 weeks later this Sunday at 9am the line inside is still strong. Is it worth the hype? How's the food? We got the crispy potato with chorizo($12) AND - I like it. The bagel is softer than NY. I appreciate that it's not overloaded with cream cheese. The chorizo, potato and cheddar cheese just blends well. Why 4 stars ? The space itself is pedestrian otherwise no complaints with the food Sorry pics were difficult too many people.

Nothing will beat the black bean paddy + gardinera + cheddar bagel combo at Bridgeport coffee but the Tilly bagel egg and cheese sandwich with impossible sausage really tried. Well done supporting veggie options! Wish the interior had more personality instead of a chipotle in a lab vibe but here we are.

Lakeview East's newest bagel shop is finally here! While Tilly's is not new to the City of Chicago, it is stepping up the neighborhood's breakfast game with its newest store. I came here both on opening day and on a Tuesday morning. I love a chewy bagel, and Tilly has a great variety of flavors and spreads. They also have a full coffee bar, which is amazing to have on the side. The space is brand new with a good amount of inside seating too. The staff is very friendly and does a great job of managing orders. I'm so happy to have this new establishment in my neighborhood! See you soon!

I'm here multiple times a week & my day is made each time bc of how sweet and inviting ALL of the workers are ~ genuinely the sweetest crew of ppl, I aspire to be like them. Bagels are super thick which is good too if you like that -

Stingy for the price. A couple slices of turkey and a tomato STEAK. This is a tomato sandwich with turkey. Maybe they've got a produce surplus from cyclospora they're trying to burn through, because these portions when you already suggest a tomato bagel is crazy. Also note the vague smear of green, the avocado was undetectable in the mouth, but at least they made sure it was visible. The sandwiches are over double the price, maybe just a bagel & cream cheese is worth it

First Tilly Bagel I've had in the city and it was pretty good! We tried two, the Eggs and Cheese & Crispy Potato w/Chorizo. Very filling and very flavorful, will be back!

On my quest to try all the new bagel spots this summer. Mainly because I feel so strongly that the bagels in Chicago are not nearly as good as the New York bagels, and never will be. I was super excited to try Tilly because I always meant to go to the south loop location. We split the chicken Caesar bagel sandwich on the rosemary and garlic bagel with caramelized onion, cream cheese, and then the cinnamon bagel with the vanilla honey cream cheese. The sweet bagel was definitely my favorite because of vanilla vanilla honey cream cheese is absolutely insanely good. I didn't actually think the chicken Caesar with anything to write home about because I thought it should've had more filling but the cream cheese is really are the stars here. They are just super flavorful. The bagels were just a bit dry in my opinion? I don't know I feel I have never been able to find a bagel in Chicago where I am blown away. So it was fine, but I don't think I would go running back although it is pretty convenient to my house.

This is easily the best bagel I've had in Chicago. Have been here 3 times now and I have no complaints. My favorite is the Cacio E Pepe bagel with bacon chive cream cheese. The bagels are unique and flavorful and the ratio of bagel to cream cheese is great. Although the line can be long, the service has always been pleasant and you can order ahead online. For anyone from the east coast, this is the type of bagel you're looking for.

I stopped by on a Saturday around lunchtime and it wasn't too busy. There were some long benches and some regular tables, making for either a cute dine in spot or solid carryout option. My dining partner and I split the Bombay chulet- while a bit on the pricey side, it was definitely enough for two people and evened out. One bite into the sandwich, she said that this was the best one she'd ever had. It was hearty but no one ingredient overpowered another. The meat was very fresh and I absolutely loved the spicy fig chutney that gave the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The cheese was so creamy that it sort of melted in with the aioli, which was also very balanced well proportionally. However, the fried crunchy onion bits really took it over the top for an explosion of both taste and texture. We left very satisfied and already planning when we would make a return visit. I can't recommend this spot enough and will definitely be back soon!

The ingredients were matched well and I found myself interested the more I ate. I can imagine this place gets busy and although I was able to walk in and order, there was a healthy stream of customers coming in right after me mid afternoon. Food 5/5 - I'd come back to try more, there's even a water station! Ambiance 5/5 - cute shop and has indoor and outdoor seating Service 4/5 - our cashier seemed bored and bothered by taking my order. Maybe I caught her at the wrong time but it does make me think twice about coming back to this specific location.

I ordered the salmon bagel with onion and capers and it was incredible, really delicious. We also tried the cinnamon bagel with cinnamon sugar cream cheese and it was amazing, seriously one of the best I've had. They also had some sliced and toasted bagels that were really good too. Every bagel came with a pickle on the side, which was a nice touch. The place itself was amazing. There were plenty of tables to sit, a cozy bar area where you can eat or have a coffee, and the overall vibe was super friendly and comfortable. It's not a huge space, but it feels really inviting and there's enough room to stay for a while, you could even bring your laptop and get some work done. In the summer, they also have outdoor seating, which makes it even nicer. The service was great, the staff was friendly, and the menu had a wide variety of options for everyone. The only thing is that it's a bit pricey. We ordered two filled bagels and one plain bagel with just a small side of cream cheese, and it was almost fifty dollars. If all three had been filled bagels, I would totally understand the price, but since one was plain, it did feel a bit expensive. We also got the strawberry cream cheese, which was good but not my favorite. I definitely preferred the cinnamon sugar one. Overall, I would absolutely go back because the bagels were fantastic, the space was cozy and welcoming, and it's a perfect spot to relax or grab breakfast, just a little on the expensive side.
