My GC originally hired Tile Studio for a rebuild of our kitchen after a flood. I chose a large…read moretravertine and was initially happy with the floor. A year later, I started seeing cracking in the tiles and grout. I called, no response. I continued to call for over a year, and finally, they responded. They came out and looked and said they would repair tile and grout under warranty. They fixed the tile, but not the grout. The grout they did put in around the new tiles was a much lighter color, but they assured me that it was only because it was new, and it would age to the proper color. I later found out they had based the replacement grout on the receptionist remembering that I had wanted a floor from the studio display. While I had chosen the tile from the display, I had not chosen the same grout, as it was far too light for a kitchen floor. A couple of years later, grout still cracked, more tiles cracked. I had them come out again, and they said they would replace them and fix the grout. There was no mention of a charge, nor was an estimate given, oral or written. They came out and Frank repaired the tiles. He was careful and talented, and the only reason I would give any stars. He had me help choose the grout, and the new grout around the new tiles is almost perfect. Then came the bill. I was told that since the cracking was due to joist movement, it wasn't their problem, so they had to charge me. $2600. For about 12 tiles. I understand if there is a problem and a company needs to charge for repairs. But, the proper procedure is to give an estimate. If I had been given an estimate, I would have fully understood that I was not under any warranty. I would have then been free to hire someone else for the repairs. TL/DR: Shoddy work + over a year of waiting for a reply + wrong color grout + bill when none discussed + no communication = unhappy customer And, the grout is still the wrong color.

TLDR: this is a low integrity team. I flew across the country to support my dad as he was receiving medical attention. It took a lot of time and energy to be present for their help. Here's what happened. Chris and his colleague showed up late. Three minutes into our conversation, Chris asks about payment. It was disconcerting as the job had yet to start and the payment was already arranged. Nevertheless, Chris and his colleague start setting up and we start gently asking questions about their process. It was our first time experiencing their work and we wanted to learn more. In the middle of setting up, Chris went outside. When he came back inside, he shared that he spoke to his boss and that they will leave the job. They didn't think we were a fit. I was shocked and expressed frustration. He had already came by in the past and approved the job. I had traveled across the country to be there. I asked for an explanation as to why. I was blown away: he had no explanation to share other than repeating himself. At one point, as I tried to understand why, he expressed something along the lines of not feeling it. I asked to speak to his boss and he refused to share his/her name or his/her contact information. As I expressed my frustration, he started to ignore me, packing his tools, chiding me for being frustrated for him leaving the job. This is backed up by video footage, including an apology--right before leaving--from Chris for wasting my time. It seems that our basic questions triggered a fear for them of losing payment. Thus, they decided to abandon ship instead of showcasing integrity for respecting their commitment. Afterwards, I called their office, sharing the story with a manager named Jenn. She said they'd call right back. It's now more than 24 hours. No call back. I'm sorry to say, this is a low-integrity team. If you're willing to take that risk, buyer beware. They may respond to this review, trying to mischaracterize our frustration as a turn-off to them. I want to be clear: we were kind and courteous in welcoming them to our home. We simply needed help and were willing to pay. We lost time, energy, and money to accommodate them being there. They came and left with little compassion for us. This is the last group of contractors you want in your home.

I went with the lowe r quote for $500.00 which was just the area around my work island where the grout was the dirtiest. The young kid who showed up repaired several grout lines that had to be repaired but never put the grout color on. Prior to that he told me that I should have the rest of the floor cleaned to match which was another $300.00. So I paid almost $800.00 to have 9 grout lines repaired and my floor looked the same as when he came except now you can see the difference between the old grout and the few lines that are new. I complained that day and he gave me $50.00 off and after calling the company to no avail I contacted the BBB to file a complaint and Sir Grout never responded. This is THE WORST service company I'v ever dealt with! Small claims court is next.

Good points: The showroom staff was helpful and polite. The showroom is open on select evenings and Saturdays which was convenient. There were multiple hardwood flooring brands available on display making it easier to find the perfect color and style for my project. Scheduling a quote for the project was easy. A person visited my home within a week of me asking for the quote. The quote was available in a reasonable amount of time after the house was measured. The price quoted to me was comparable to other flooring companies I had researched. Financing was available through Wells Fargo bank. The process to get the financing was simple and only required me to fill out a short form. Bergey did the rest of the paperwork for the loan and then ordered the flooring once the money had been approved by the bank. The installers were knowledgeable, efficient, and respectful of my property and belongings. They were respectful of my neighbors waiting until 8am to begin their work which limited the amount of disturbance to others. Not so good points: Although the entire process was seamless, I felt like I did not always know what was happening at any given time. It would have been nice to have a bit more communication between Bergey and myself. At times, I needed to chase for information. In my opinion, I should not have to chase for information. Bergey should have provided the information more readily instead of assuming I knew what was going on at any given stage of the project. I highly recommend using A.W. Bergey for your flooring install. I am very pleased with my new floors and the overall experience working with this company.
