Southern Curry Bowl Delicious curry, the coconut is present giving it a pleasant island vibe. The spice level is front forward, yet not overpowering so you can still enjoy the meal. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I would absolutely get this again. Items I purchased outside of the elite experience: Naan Tacos - Shrimp Not a fan of this at all. The shrimp were extremely small and had a noticeable fish taste. The amount of toppings compared to the amount of shrimp was unbalanced. It was more like a veggie taco with a sprinkle of shrimp. Stopped into Tikka Shack after running errands in White Marsh. It's located in the old Duck Donuts space, which has been nicely updated with a chill, modern vibe. Staff was friendly and greeted me right away. The menu is easy to follow with lots of options--bowls, tacos, pizza, wings, plus a kids menu. I ordered the Butter Chicken Masala. The portion size was decent overall, but there wasn't much chicken. The sauce was thinner than expected and a bit bland, and the naan was just okay. The space and service were solid, but the food didn't quite deliver. I might give it another shot with a different dish, but this one was underwhelming. read more

I actually came here by accident thinking that a particular event was supposed to happen I signed up for but I got my dates mixed up. I was disappointed to even waste my time and effort. When I walked in I was not greeted, the customer service was terrible. A young girl who looked like she had just rolled out of bed was texting in the back of the restaurant... I thought I had walked into the wrong place. She finally asked if I needed anything, she couldn't answer any of my questions and the items that I was interested in on the menu were "sold out" . The place looked dingy instead of clean and I was concerned about how safe it was to actually eat from here. Thankfully I didn't get sick or anything. There was also another young lady who seemed like a teenager as well " cooking " in the back. I settle for a chicken tikka taco I believe. The naan bread that it came in was good, and crispy, but the chicken had no flavor , just overly salty and spicy. It was gross. Very commercial like. I thought I was in for a treat and prepared myself for authentic flavorful Indian Food, this is not that. Even the " butter chicken " looked watered down and bland. Could probably do a better job myself with a packaged microwaved meal from Aldi or Trader Joe's.... Which the kiosk didn't seem to be working properly during my visit. So, I ordered at the counter with the young lady who was waiting for an order to be completed but told me she'd be with me shortly, which was nice. The staff seemed fairly nice; however they may need a little supervision given I could hear someone on the line, which is kind of open to the public, cursing while talking across the way to someone else. With Tikka Shack being newly open, customer service should be a bigger focus. Tikka Shack is more of an Indian fusion type of restaurant. Offering tacos, pizzas, wings, and wraps with an Indian flare. I opted for a shrimp coconut curry taco, chicken tikka grill platter, and a side of garlic naan. I wasn't too fond of the taco given the shrimp was cut up into smaller pieces that got lost in the cabbage slaw and was just a little too saucy for my liking. The chicken tikka grill was ok but was lacking that depth of flavor I enjoy in Indian food. However, I really enjoyed the mango salad. According to the menu the chicken tikka grill platter comes with tikka sauce. However, I wasn't provided any sauce with my order, which would've been nice. The garlic naan although it had a nice garlic flavor, the bread was a little lackluster in taste. Tikka Shack is a good lunch destination if you're in the area and looking for something out of the norm from burgers and fries. I can't lie, the food is delicious - very top tier for a fast casual spot! - Chicken tikka taco 10/10 - Seasoned fries 9/10 - Mango salad 7/10 - Lamb wrap 100000/10 (even without the sauce) BUT - I recommend waiting to try until they're a little more established. We had several issues with our order as did other people. I just think the owner underestimated how many people would be interested and how many people would actually enjoy the food. The spice level was good and it had good flavor. The chicken was tasty too. They do have a nice selection of sauces and proteins. The garlic naan was ok. Overall this is a good place when you are looking for tasty Indian food without much wait or to bring home. If you want to dine in, keep in mind there are very limited tables and you may not have a space. I was really excited to try this place out but very disappointed with the food. I will say that the staff were very pleasant. There was a pretty long wait, about 20 minutes which defeats the purpose of going to a fast food restaurant. When I received my chicken tikka wrap, it was obviously burnt...it should have never left the kitchen like that...no excuse. It did however taste much better than it looked. I'm not sure if they mistakenly gave me paneer instead of chicken...if not, the chicken was definitely processed. The rice was ok...regular basmati rice. The samosas are good but the pastry was too thin/not fried hard enough and so it fell apart when I picked it up. The mango lassi needed some help. It needed to be sweeter and it had a bit of a chunky texture. All in all, the food wasn't horrible, but especially for the price (my burnt wrap meal was $20), I won't be back. It's alright. I've tried their Tikka Masala curry, Butter Masala curry, Tandoori Chicken pizza, and Biryani wings over a span of a month or so since they opened at this location. The food wasn't bad, but it lacks the deep flavors Indian dishes offer. Also the rice in the curry/bowls were very dry and the chicken was overcooked. The naan pizza, their 'signature' dish, was mediocre. The bread didn't even taste like naan or have the same texture...it was more like a grilled flat bread pizza. If you want fast-ish Indian food this is the spot...but if you want better quality and tasting Indian dishes there are better restaurants in the area. read more

Went to check out this place out after being opened for a day. Very busy with everyone in the area checking it out as well. I don't do spice AT ALL, so when i ordered my Butter Masala, I chose house (their base spice level) as my level of spiciness. It still had an intense kick and was a tad too spicy for me. I added shack Naan, which was an additional ($2.40), and that helped the intensity of spice. Each bowl was around $16 each. Husband also decided to try their Tandoori Chicken Pizza. It was decent . Personally , their portions could be bigger for what you're paying for. We ate inside around 2pm on a Sunday. They only have about 6 tables inside and we were lucky to get a table when we did . They offered a few desserts at the front counter , as well as bottled water, bottled homemade Mango Lassi, and cans of Coke products. Nice extensive menu, which included wings, tacos, salads and appetizers. For as busy as they were on their second day being opened , service was super quick ( got our food delivered to our table in less than 10 minutes of ordering) and staff came to check on us and asked how the food turned out. Their food on opening day was good, they were struggling a bit with orders and kept giving people dine in when they ordered takeout. My second time there once again good food but bad service. A lady handed a customer their food and immediately dropped it on the floor she said sorry and turned around but didn't ask if it was okay if anything needed to be remade. My third time here I just ordered their tikka Tuesday special. They told me I can't have my drink as advertised because they don't have a fountain machine. I personally ordered the special because it came with an entree rice, naan, and a drink for $11*. for them to not even offer me a water or a soda for the inconvenience or to apologize. The food is average, nothing special. Small portions for the price and the naan was hard as a rock. The service was okay at the register but the person packing up the to-go food was a problem. I overheard her cussing, carrying on and making a scene when a customer had an order problem.. I was surprised that she was allowed to carry on this way. The food here is awesome never had any problems. We usually recommend this place to others as well. My husband and I have gotten pickup and eat in at least once a week. However, this time eating in I used the restroom and I was appalled. It looked like it never gets cleaned. Made me really rethink about eating my order. The front of the shop looks clean and kitchen seems clean from what we can see as well but the bathroom was awful. They really need to take care of it for customers.
