I've been going to Tijuana flats since around 2007 or perhaps earlier. I used to go to the Daytona Beach store 2-3 times a week for years on end. Now my local store is the UCF location. While the Daytona Store definitely set the standard for all Tijuanas - the manager was amazing and the staff was even better. But this UCF store is quite good as well considering how much higher the turnover is being so close to a huge college campus. They manage to keep a lot of the same employees for longer than typical fast casual spots do - some for years. It speaks to the way they are treated and how well the hiring is done to get such good employees that want to stay. The food has been consistently good at this location. Portions are a bit smaller than they were years ago - but the prices really are staying quite low compared to everywhere else. You can still get tacos chips and a drink for $8.99 or burrito chips and a drink for the same on Tues/Thurs and then there's always other specials going on if you have their app. My favorite thing is the flautas, which are pictured two different ways. Grilled and fried. But the Chimichangas, the burritos (get them grilled!), the tacos (get those grilled too!), and the bowls are all really good. It's one of the few places you can eat as a solo person or a group for under or just around $10/person and still get a sizeable portion and really tasty quality food. read more

I've been going to Tijuana Flats on and off for about a decade. The prices have stayed well below other similar food options. The big draw for me is the offer of additional points if you go on a consecutive Tuesday and Thursday, which also happen to be their deal days. You can get a full meal for $8-$9 dollars and end up not only getting the points for the meals but an additional 30 points for having gone twice. The points add up quickly to free meals. I used to love their survey option, where would you rate your service and get a code for a free taco. This perk was recently removed with new corporate management, which I must admit has reduced my visit frequency. I've noticed that if you go on off times (i.e. between lunch and dinner) that you have a better shot of getting a larger portion. The sauce bar really makes it for me, having the options puts Tijuana higher on my list compared to places that don't offer this.​​ read more

They have a great Thursday deal - burrito or burrito bowl for $8.99 including chips and a drink. The service from Emma was the bomb - took our order and made sure everything was correct. She check on us often and kept our drinks filled. The ambiance is good although I miss the whimsical bumperstickers they used to have - the hot bar is great you can try different levels of heat and if you find one you love - they sell them also. read more

I have often gotten takeout from here but I rarely eat in. During a work training I was able to go out for lunch. Ordering was easy at the counter and our food was ready in a timely manner, despite the busy restaurant. There are a lot of bright colors inside and servers stopped coming around for drink orders or trash removal. You can go up for a refill, but there are no visible trash cans so you have to leave the food on the table. The usual Taco Tuesday is about $8 including two tacos, chips and a drink. With my steak upgrade and queso side it was $12. Overall an enjoyable time, nice atmosphere. read more

The shrimp in my shrimp quesadilla was COMPLETELY burnt. Smelt it and had to pull back from how bad it was. It was terrible.

Moving into a new home is exhausting! I ordered the chicken chimichanga, which is my usual go to, and it was good. I enjoyed the amount of queso that topped the dish and was able to use some for my chips as well! I gave it 4 stars due to the blandness of the chicken. Other than that, the meal was delish! I used to love Tijuana Flats. Unfortunately, I just have bad experiences every single time I go to the restaurant. I went there on 9/12 and I was the first person in the restaurant. It's obviously not cleaned at night. The last time I was at Tijuana Flats after 20 minutes of waiting, they realize they forgotten me . I ordered and paid, but they never brought me my salad.. so the manager gave me a gift certificate and that's what I was using yesterday. I ordered and I paid extra for it. I'm taking my salad to another location so I ordered it with the meat and beans on the side. My order was repeated back to me and then I left the restaurant with the salad fully assembled. Nothing on the side. I paid for queso and the chips were so stale. It was like eating a piece of gum. How do you get the order wrong when I'm the only person in the restaurant? Why are the chips stale at 10:32 in the morning? Why would you not wipe counters down and sweep before you leave at night? Good news is there's a Mexican restaurant right next-door to you. That's where I'll go from now on. Hopefully, I can get all the gift certificates. I normally buy from you to give away at Christmas. I have been going to this chain since I was a kid and over the years I have seen it steadily declining. Between the raising prices, smaller portions, and lower quality. Turns out they were bought out by a faceless private equity firm in 2015 which only cares about squeezing the last dollar out of a companies before running it into bankruptcy. Today I got a salad where the bowl is so small to even really fit anything, the portion size was so pathetic they might as well spat into my hand and called it lunch. Riddle me this, why would I go here when across the street there is a chipotle with better quality food, I would have paid $5 less and got about three times as much food. Sad really this used to a great local to Orlando chain. No disrespect to the team working there its not their fault and were perfectly pleasant and swift with my order but this will be the last time I will be going. read more

Enjoyed a fast, inexpensive, and filling lunch with my husband and son a few days ago. I was surprised that it wasn't more crowded as it was a Sunday afternoon but by the time we left, the line to order was getting long, so I'm glad we arrived when we did. The order taker was pleasant and patient with us as we decided what to eat. She read the whole order back to us, which I appreciated. Within a few minutes, our order was delivered to our table. Ordered Tijuana flats from Grub Hub, though I usually stray away from chains. Tijuana flats does a quick tex mex full of flavor with reasonable prices and nice flavors. I ordered the street corn bowl and the churro bites. The items were packaged lovely with safety seals and stickers labeling everything, which is so much better than restaurants who leave you to guess what an order is. Kudos to you! Their was bold and beautiful flavors in the street corn bowl which didn't shy away from the guac like some restaurants. It was still warm and very flavorful. The churro bites were amazingly delicious served fresh with strawberry and chocolate sauce and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. They had the proper amount of Cinnimon and sugar for the perfect marriage of a churro and donut hole. Prices are reasonable and food was good. Only complaint was the tortilla chips which had to have been the most stale chips I've ever tasted. There was no way they were prepared the day of possibly not even the week of. Overall that was not a huge deal as I will be back when I have a taste for some quick tex mex. read more

We had two orders of the tostadas and a chimichanga. When the tostadas came, they were refrigerator cold. We asked if they could reheat our food and when it came back reheated the PLASTIC forks were MELTED in our chips and tostada. Instead of redoing our food, our server grabbed the melted forks and the melted chips and just took them right off our plate. On top of that no refund or accommodation for our food. We're not picky people but the service we received here was not worth the money we paid. Will not be coming back and do not recommend others eat here. read more

Great price for what you get. As with other Tijuana Flats locations, this particular one has a wide array of sauces to choose from, is decorated with bright colors and funky decor and friendly staff. The only gripe I have is the parking lot of this location was completely full and it took a while to find a spot. I ordered the "dos tacos" so two chicken soft tacos on flour tortillas. They came out in a timely manner accompanied by a generous amount of tortilla chips. I added some of their special hot sauces and was able to eat and get out of there within 30 minutes. It a great spot to go to if you're crunched for time but don't want the normal fast food. Tijuana flats has been consistently good and offer decent food at affordable rates. If you find yourself near one on a Tuesday they offer $5 taco baskets or on Thursdays they offer $5 burritos. My favorite is the Smack my Sweet A** and Call Me Sally. Its more sweet than spicy, but it balances out the savory flavor of the tacos perfectly!! Only complaint is that the churros often come with barely any cinnamon sugar on them. I came here on a Tuesday for taco Tuesday and it was packed. It was almost impossible to find a parking spot. we had to park behind the restaurant--Luckily they have an entrance to the restaurant from the back. Once I got inside I was questioning my decision to take part in taco Tuesday. There were people all over the place and it was pretty dark inside. The line to order was almost at the front door. For $5.49 you can get two tacos, chips and a drink. Not a bad deal but not an amazing one either. I ordered beef tacos and guacamole with my chips. My order was ready pretty quickly to my surprise even though the place was packed. I was also able to snatch a table while my fiancé waited for our tacos to come out. The tacos themselves were nothing special, they were good. The beef was tasty and the ingredients in the taco tasted fresh. The guacamole was really good, it was creamy and had a freshly made taste to it. Where this place really shines is the hot sauce bar! I had to try pretty much each one. My favorites were don't be a chicken shit and smack my ass and call me Sally--the second slapping. Overall, this is a good place to come to with friends or if you want to see what all the hype about taco Tuesday is about. Tijuana Flats is the ideal lunch place. The line is usually pretty fast and sometime none at all and the food also comes out before your lunch hour ends. All sounds good to me except the food sucks. I ordered Dos Tacos (chicken) and it sucked. The highlight of the meal was the chips it came because it was still a fresh batch and the hot sauce bar. The chicken in the tacos had no flavor and seemed like they just boiled the chicken. It totally lacked seasoning! At least other places they have grilled it or done something. Marinades people! Even though the staff is wonderful and the restaurant is clean, I won't be coming back for a long time. Not evening for Taco Tuesday, which btw is not that even that good of a deal! Ordered tijuana on cindo de mayo. I placed my online order at 5:30 and the earliest delivery time was 8:15! I am not surprised with covid-19 and it being cinco de mayo. So I patiently waited super excited to get my food and what do you know - I end up with the wrong order! Its pretty comical, my order was under chelsea williams and I got chelsea wilsons order. Of course this one has my two favorite available all the time.... Jason's mom and Rasta sauce. OMG. SO GOOD. I got my husband HOOKED on the Rasta sauce. I think I've officially been to all the Tijuana Flats locations in Orlando and I've had great experiences each and everytime. For one, this is by far my favorite place to get lunch/ dinner in Orlando. The food is also very good and filling. The staff is also very nice and helpful, which is a plus. The hot sauce bar is amazing!!! I love to try the different sauces, I even get the hottest although I know I cannot always tolerate the heat. Got into town late, and Tijuana Flats was one of the only places still open. I'm not sure why, you'd think in the college section of the town that 8 o'clock would be the start of fun times. I've been to TF in other parts of Florida, and this one is one of the best. The sauce bar had a broad selection of hot sauces from "nice to meet you" all the way up to "I'm here to bring you pain!" The food was totally on-point and delicious, and the service was amazing. The manager and other folks stopped by often to check and see how we were doing and to get us refills. The guac was great, a real departure from a lot of other Mexican places that require a bunch of salt to even taste like anything. Very clean restaurant, with a great staff and great atmosphere. I have never had any probs with this place. Also as I sit in front of kitchen I'm watching food being handled after using brooms and tablets. Then they touch food. I have never been to this place before. We were actually looking for a nice not too expensive place to get some food. This restaurant is right off of main street and has parking lots of parking. We came on a saturday night and it was not packed at all. We ordered a salad. We thought we will eat a bit healthy for once. Well, nope. The salad was huuuuge in a bowl made out of corn bread. It was soo good though. There was plenty of greens and chicken too. On the side you get chips and dressing. Our order was ready in a few minutes. the staff was great because we have never been here before she knew all the dishes and helped us to pick the best one for our mood. They serve 3 kinds of beer.
