Walking up you think it's going to be a good spot. Staff was nice but the entirety of the restaurant was unkept and dirty food on the floor and on the benches the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. HVAC didn't work and they had a temporary AC unit in there, soda machine didn't work, they were out of half of their beverages. We got the loaded nachos and my chips were soggy and not appetizing. We stopped by for lunch during a weekend event at Additions Arena. We are fans of Gringos Locos from their SoDo and Downtown Orlando locations, and were happy to see their UCF presence. We ordered their chimichanga and bowl. Both were delicious, and consistent with the taste and quality of their other locations. They were incredibly busy, so it did take 30 minutes for our food, but their staff were working as efficiently as possible. We opted to eat outside at one of their three tables since it was a beautiful day. We'd definitely return on a future UCF visit! read more

I live on campus nearby so ideally it would be great to have a mexican restaurant without having to drive. However, you'd save money driving 30 minutes to somewhere cheaper. For 14$+ you can get a small portion size of food to fill 1/2 your stomach. Not an issue if you have money the food tastes great. But definitely overpriced. read more

The restaurant is very clean and you can watch them fix your food as you ordered it. The workers don't really greet you when you walk in. The prices range from $5-$15 which is very decent for the University Campus. They sell alcoholic beverages at the restaurant if you need to get a drink after a hard day at work. The food didn't have any type of taste it was so bland that I didn't even eat 1/4 of the Burrito. The food here used to be so good and the experience so enjoyable. However, now the Place is essentially rundown with only one working drink machine and zero operating bathrooms. The prices are absolutely insane, and the staff literally hate their lives. Crazy that they expect you to eat tacos and you can't even wash your hands, not really sure if this would even pass inspection standards. Update .. been here for over 30 minutes now and still no food. Also, the man working the counter has touched EVERYTHING and has not changed his gloves so what's the point? They are just leaving people's food sitting down on the counter for over 10 minutes and not doing anything with it and then when you ask for an update on their food, they just tell you it's coming. People are asking for hot sauce and they're saying oh they're busted there's only one left and now for other people there's none left. I want a refund. read more

I recently went to Gringos Locos, and I must say, their tacos were not bad for the price! I went during their happy hour which is from 4:00 to 8:00 and you can get deals on their tacos and burritos (also drinks I believe but I have never drank there). I highly recommend trying them out if you're the mood for some tasty, yet quick, Mexican cuisine. Also as a side note, during the happy hour you get free chips and salsa but they don't automatically give them to without asking so make sure you ask! Definitely don't want to miss out on the complimentary chips and salsa during happy hour! I opted for the chicken tacos and I was content with the two tacos I ordered. The meat was juicy and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. The toppings were fresh, with a generous amount of cilantro, chopped onions, and a squeeze of lime, which added a burst of freshness to the overall taste. The tortillas were soft and came in doubles. Last year, my son started school here at UCF. We came by this restaurant and were treated excellent by both the crew and especially the manager there on that night in Merch. Went to visit my son this past weekend and went back and I have to tell you, what a difference a manager and staff no longer at a restaurant could make. Manager on his phone while serving food to people. Employees more interested in talking with each other rather then helping people. Bathrooms smelling like no one had bothered to clean them in the day. Boxes and trash by the back door. An awful experience. Hope that no one else wastes their money at this place. If my son is right, I hope the students do boycott this place for their treatment towards the students. read more

And my wife says this location has fish while the milk district one doesn't so that's a plus. Service is pretty quick and friendly. Once again, this is on UCF campus so parking is going to be a struggle and it's loud but it's a solid choice for late night eats. read more

I've ordered here a couple of times previously and was happy with the meals provided. This last time, and it most likely will be the last, our food was very disappointing. In this order we had 2 chicken taco salads, which we've had before, and there was no tortilla bowl that we enjoyed before - even the photos show the tortilla bowl. While eating our salads we acknowledged there was zero flavor. We also ordered the Double D for my son which he said was 'eh' and the Mouth Hugger for my daughter who was was not happy at all - again, no flavor. Well, I guess it depends how many drinks you are into your evening. The food is not overly authentic, but for many it will bring back some great memories of what might be summed up with a misspent youth. This location is not as good as the other locations, but it can still bring you sustenance, not only for your body, but for your soul when it is seeking the comfort of memories. The Locos Gringos inside the UCF (Under Construction Forever) campus is pretty disappointing. I was expecting the same power punch in the food like the other locations provide, but this one falls into the category of bland "fancy Taco Bell". There is a lot of "fancy Taco Bell" going around in Orlando, I tell you that much AND you know what I mean. But Gringos goes one step further and makes it a little bland for you. I don't know if you'll want to be there. The location is cool, the space is large and there is $2 beer, but even with that on the menu, the food is meh. Fix the food or you be'goner. read more

This spot is great for the college campus. They are quite inexpensive and the quality is great for a chain food place. I would definitely be back to try other things but the chips and salsa could just as easily bring be back. By far one of the biggest perks is that they are open until 3am! read more

I have visited the Downtown and Milk District locations and always enjoyed the food and service provided. Unfortunately, my experience at the UCF location was not a pleasurable one. We arrived around 8 pm on a Sunday, and there were only 2 patrons in the restaurant, so I was a little confused as to why it took so long for the two women (standing right in front of us on the other side of the counter) to greet us and ask for our order. I am all for co-workers mingling and having a good time, but blatantly ignoring 2 customers, so you can finish a story is not the best first impression for a guest. In addition to a bad first impression, multiple issues occurred, and I will detail them below. 1. My boyfriend's order was placed, and the woman decided to start another conversation with her co-worker while I stood there for 2-3 minutes. As I placed my order, she seemed confused when I asked for "3 soft tacos - 1 chicken and 2 pork - topped with cheese, sour cream & onions. I repeated the order, and she hesitantly said, "ok." 2. I approached the cashier and told him my order and specified the toppings I would like on 3 tacos to make sure there were no issues. The woman handed him the order, and he looked it over, packaged it, and we were on our way. I could not see the order from where I was standing, but I spoke with the gentleman seconds before confirming my toppings. To my dismay, when we arrived home, I received tacos topped with lettuce, cheese & onions - sans sour cream. I called and asked if I would come back in and get the correct order, and they obliged. 3. The second order had the toppings correct but was filled with only a few fat pieces from the pork (one of the tacos was supposed to be chicken, but they made ALL of them pork. The amount of sour cream and onions loaded up in the taco that was stone cold and uneatable. 4. We ordered queso, and I thought it didn't really taste like queso, but that may be a preference thing. $22, and I still did not get to eat dinner, and I wasted double the amount of gas going back-and-forth. All it would have taken was proper customer service (which includes listening, and if you can't remember.. ask!), and none of this would have happened. After this experience, I don't even know if I will ever go to the other locations. read more

I was very excited to see this spot open up in East Orlando since I live in this part of town. It's not much different than trying to go to the one downtown where parking is limited, but you'll have better luck finding a spot here. Because it's on UCF campus it was extremely busy, but from being a downtown Gringos Locos regular... you're waiting wherever you go. This location is big and has regular table tops and high top seating depending on your preference. I spent 15-20 minutes in line, but the food didn't take too long to get. It was flavorful and delicious and definitely hit the spot. Just keep in mind it's not a place to go to if you're in a rush. read more

I guess there is a reason this location isn't rated as highly as the others. I'd like to start by saying that this is my all time favorite place to eat tacos. My boyfriend and I come here almost every Tuesday to eat. We always order the same Me - 2 Double D's beef all the way and him 2 Double D's chicken all the way. We usually went to the Milk district or downtown location until this UCF location opened up we decided to go here because it's so much closer for us. We have gone about 10-15 times now and I have given them the benefit of the doubt too many times. Tonight my visit was just rough. To start it took almost 25 min to get through a line of people not even to the door. And then we order our usual food and are watching them make the tacos and it's like every time we go there the portion of meat and other toppings is different. This time it was almost no beef in my tacos. If you know anything about the Double D taco you know they take queso, spread it on a soft shell and then wrap said shell on a hard shell. Well apparently they were in such a rush that they had to give up half way when applying the queso. This is pictured below. Unfortunately because I really do love these tacos I'm gonna have to make a drive for them. Quite frankly I would rather drive 35 min to the Milk district than to get another taco made by these undertrained and poorly hired staff members If I can say anything, stop being lazy college kids and learn from your other locations on how to proportion. Yeah, the environment of a sports bar type taco place is cool but I wasn't impressed either time. I am a huge fan of gringos so when this location opened up I was thrilled because it was closer to me than the other locations. However I was quickly disappointed. After three visits now I have made the decision that I'd rather drive out to one of the other locations instead of this one. 2/3 times I've gone they've been out of multiple products, if it was maybe a busy day or late night I'd understand but this was happening middle of the day on Weekdays. I've honestly never seen any of the workers smile and they're always quite short and come off very rude. I always go for a pork taco when I'm there and the meat is always not their best quality. At the end of the day I would rather avoid this location and drive further out to one of the other location where the quality and experience is better! read more

A Downtown Orlando favorite! I have heard about this place for years and finally made it. First of all, I hate going downtown to eat because parking is horrible, so keep that mind. This place is a small hole in the wall place, is open late, and gets pretty busy especially late at night after the club and Orlando City Soccer games lol. Anyways, when you walk in your stand in line and order before sitting down. While in line I heard someone say "You Have to get the Double Ds!" So..I got the double Ds! Its a crunchy taco and a soft taco shell with your choice of meat. I'm glad I took that random guys recommendation, it was good! I also ordered an empanada. It was good too and big enough to share. The customer service is what you would expect from a taco dive place, so don't expect 5 star service. But if your hungry and it's late at night, I would definitely recommend coming here for some good tacos. read more
