This is probably the best Tijuana Flats location that my family has been to. We've done dine-in, delivery/Door Dash, and picked up our own food to-go, and it's always been good. Once in a while some "extra toppings" fall onto my semi-picky family member's plain cheese quesadilla (for example a few pieces of shredded lettuce seem to make it in) but I'm guessing that it's busy in the back and the toppings are close together? If you go on Saturdays you can get their 2 for $22 deal which is a nice savings.

Food was cold! Portion size ridiculous! This location has been going down hill for sometime now. Sorry, can't take the ride to the bottom! I'm out!

Steak Tijuana Chimichanga

I was really excited and hoping this would be our New Mexican place but Tijuana committed a cardinal food service sin tonight. We ordered delivery, a mile away, and got a steak burrito and a steak chimichanga. Food arrived fast enough and hot enough temperature and appeared to have everything it was supposed to. The steak burrito and my chimichanga toppings, the bf was convinced that there was cross-contamination happening (which wasn't the worst offense), but stated the lettuce was atrocious smelling and he couldn't move past that. It smelled heavily of iceberg lettuce, but I'm used to that strong aroma when products are not freshly prepared. I also got guac with the chips included (paid $4 for a small portion), and it was bad. Wholly guacamole clearly used as an avocado paste for the base, scarce tomatoes, and no seasoning. I had to get up to add salt, pepper, Tabasco, lime, and cilantro to make it slightly enjoyable. I remembered the salsa was atrocious but it turns out the guac isn't much better, albeit fixable if you're willing to pay to make the guac for them. My chimichanga was prepared correctly and hit the spot, I ate it all. The habanero hot sauce we ordered was a watered down franks red hot, definitely not a homemade sauce. We were excited to try a homemade sauce, but there's no denying the flavor of Franks Red Hot to two hot sauce lovers. His burrito is where the biggest issue of them all lies. As he was eating, about halfway through, he started coughing. He spits out his food and pulls this long black piece of something out of the pile and states he almost choked on it and was unsure as to what it was and asked me. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt and think maybe a cilantro stem but the moment I touched it, I knew it was plastic. Sharp, hard, and lots of edges, this piece of plastic in the photo was inside of his burrito and could have injured him. From an operational standpoint, I'd check your utensils and train your staff not to put plastic directly on hot surfaces. While I get things happen, this was a horribly scary mistake that cannot be looked past for the unnecessary risk you placed him in tonight. Absolutely appalling and will never be back after losing that trust.

We recently moved back to the area and have been here a few times now. The staff has always been extremely friendly, orders correct the first time and the food has always tasted great!

Ok, just for all your awareness, I'm still somewhat new to Florida. I've never heard of Tijuana Flats prior to moving here. I guess my best description of this place is a gourmet Taco Bell. I tried multiple of their hot sauces which I found pretty good. I hat the Chicken Tacos and the Carnitas Burrito. I really liked the chicken tacos and the ingredients seemed fresh. The carnitas burrito was ok. Lacked some flavor. Their salsa was scrumptious and I recommend the chips and salsa. Just keep in mind this is not authentic but delicious. On to the next one!

Ordered guac starter, which I did not get! Trainee was very confused and trainer didn't take over the order! Get home to find no salsa. Don't chips automatically come with salsa? Was a soup sandwich of an experience to say the least! Should've went to Moe's!!

Chimichurri Steak Tacos

Enjoyed their new limited edition Chimichurri Steak Tacos on corn tortillas. they were quite yummy. The cold toppings made the steak cold quickly but I loved them. Absolutely love the chip seasoning. Service was on point for especially for a quick serve restaurant. Haven't eaten here in awhile. Will definitely be back.

Boring tasteless food and the staff is nice but they don't act like they really want to be there. I would rather have Taco Bell. Avoid.

Place is ok. Way too salty. Not as good as some of the real Mexican restaurants around.

Let me clarify first, our waiter deserves 5 stars and he was great…read more CHUY's: a Pathetic attempt at Mexican food The food is a 1 star though. Honestly, hands down the worst attempt at Mexican food I've ever had. This place honestly is a disgrace to Mexican food. The salsa was pathetic, no flavor and tasted like plain tomatoes. The second "salsa" we were told is a house favorite. It was literally a cold tomatillo ranch, gross. I got 2 ground beef enchiladas with Tex mex and a chili relleno. The enchiladas were not good but were also not the worst thing ever. The chili relleno however, tasted like a frozen pack of TGI Fridays mozzarella sticks from the store. No joke, you could taste the freezer burn on them. The beans were watery and had no flavor. The rice, you could easily tell has been sitting in a fridge at least over night. It was dry, hard, and also had no flavor. It amazes me these restaurant owners want to have a successful business, but insist on cutting corners and not making fresh food. Your food sucks and I won't be back. I wouldn't even let my dogs eat this food. Harsh huh? Simple solution, make your own food. If you want a successful restaurant, make your own tortillas, cook your own beef, make your sauce fresh everyday, shred fresh cheese, STOP CUTTING CORNERS. Any person with a good palette can clearly tell everything has either been sitting in a freezer or a fridge over night. The ambiance is also quirky and I'm not sure what themes they're going with. Woods, bricks, dogs on the wall, 90's color schemes, it's just not it. It takes me 5 minutes to make great food at home, I'll never understand why restaurants can't do the same. This is the type of place you see on a Gordon Ramsay show that he tries to save. My taste buds will never forgive me for eating here, don't make the same mistake.

Ok, this is where I'll grab some food. Popped in and was quickly greeted, as I looked over the menu at the counter the girl stepped up and asked if she could help me, she gave me a few recommendations. I went with a couple different tacos, a pork tamale and a bag of chips. I have to apologize, I almost always take pictures of the food before shoveling it into my mouth, but I was hungry and this looked delicious. I pictures. The reviews weee unquestionably correct and this place is incredible. My favorite (which was difficult to pick just one) was the Campechano taco...the flavor was out of this world. I had a steak taco and the pork tamale...absolutely incredible. I hate to rave about something without some sort of criticism...nothing can be perfect right? Well, the food was spot on, don't change a thing. My only small poke would have been that the bottled Coke was cold, but not ice cold...and if that's the most negative thing you can say, well then...this place is a 10 out of 10. I highly recommend...I just wish I lived in the area to enjoy it more often! Tampa, you're lucky to have a place this great!
