Zebra Feeding part of VIP tour

We found this while planning our family trip. This safari has been here for 21 years. The animals all have large roaming areas and are well taken care of. Many of the staff members live on the facility. We stayed in a safari but it was $150 plus another $100 for the VIP tour for a family of 5. The price also included having access to the zoo until they closed. Cons: there are no restrooms in the huts. It's about a 200 ft walk. There is no shower either and there is only one on site by the bathroom. They do not look well taken care or smell great at all. We avoided them. We stayed in treehouse #2 and when we walked around you could feel and see the entire hut move. It was scary. There's only a dvd player so bring movies. The smell inside main office is awful and I gagged many times but I am pregnant so my smell I feel like is more intense. Keep in mind hut one and two are over the tigers the others are over bears. Pros: for the price you do get a lot such as access to the zoo, the animal encounter, tour and feeding, they had a large bonfire one night, offer breakfast snacks the morning before tour which are store bought.

    Kangaroo feeding time

It's a fun experience to do with the family or some friends. I came here today with my husband and we had a blast inside because we did the VIP and when they brought out the baby monkey, that was a highlight of the petting zoo. Watching it climb and jump off and try to lick and bite my husband was so funny. The outside of the zoo is very simple but it's nice. The kangaroos they have are so gentle and so adorable. We definitely will come back with our daughter so she can feed the animals and have a good laugh.

The hut was a nice and relaxing getaway however, all I could think about the entire time was why are the cages for these wild animals so small and how do they stay warm. The owner Bill definitely gives me Tiger King vibes and I would love for this place to be investigated. They keep wild animals in small cages inside the lobby area for show and tell and the ones that are outside are much smaller than if you went to your typical zoo. Now I'm not one of those people who are against zoos I kind of think of zoos as a way to keep animals safe given they have enough room to mimic their natural habitat. Tiger Safari doesn't do that at all. They have a hyena (pack animal) alone in a small cage, and a grizzly bear alone that just walks the perimeter of his cage all day. Place should most definitely be shut down and would never return to support the horrific treatment to these animals!!!!.

    Pouncy tiger.

The tigers were thin, isolated, with no water to swim in (tigers are water cats), in TINY enclosures for their sizes, water bowls on the ground that I WATCHED the males peeing in, and one white tiger was limping. Some animals had very insufficient post and lintel shelters. The animals inside have it worse. Two large owls are locked in small display cages with dirty water. The outside Capuchin monkey's fur was falling out and she was all alone in her enclosure. She was also very hungry, greedily grabbing for more and more Cheerios. Monkeys don't live alone!! The kangaroos were awesome, very friendly, pettable, and enjoyed laying in the sun. But the USDA said they had to put in a barrier so they can't be touched. The hyena was also alone. So was the bear. Hyenas are pack animals!! An adult male lion was alone and crying endlessly at the back fence, which I got on video. A teenaged lion was so bored and alone that he "chased" my purse like a kitten as I swung it around, and he ran up and down the fence with my husband, just dying for some play and contact. Lions are not solitary either! Male tigers are, but it's still sad to see them in tiny, 10x10 panel cages with no real shelter and no pond water. The lone tiger in the back played "stalk and pounce" with me as I pretended to hide behind a post. He was starved for activity, too. None of them have any stimulation. Some of the enclosures are overgrown. It is a sad, sad place to see. I hope they get closed down. Plan to report them to my contacts at PETA.

Took my wife and our boys here for a overnight stay. We rented one of the treehouses. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Owner and staff were friendly and helpful. My boys loved everything and especially staying in the lofted treehouse overlooking the tiger cages. I had read many negative reviews on the animal habitat conditions and sizes, which were on the smaller side, at least they may live a bit longer here vs the wild though. Bathrooms could use a little more cleaning but it is a shared public bathroom so oh well. We will be back and next time we will do one of the larger rentals with a bathroom.

My friend and I did the Mega VIP Experience and absolutely LOVED it. We had so much fun getting to see all the animals on the tour and holding some of them afterward. Not to mention the amazing staff; our tour guide was so fun and added a lot to the experience just with her personality (can't remember her name, it started with a K, but she was the very tall one and I highly recommend her), and Bill, the owner, was sooo friendly. You can tell how much he loves his zoo by the look in his eyes and the pride and happiness in his voice when he talks about it, and by how much effort he puts into running it. A truly, wonderful experience I will never forget. On a final note, we got to feed a baby zebra a bottle! Where else can you do that!? Nowhere! Go check out this zoo and say hi to Bill!

Depressing Went here recently, thinking this might be a nice family day out. When I got there, I was shocked to see the small cages the large cats and bears are kept in, with zero enrichment, and only a very small house to sleep or hide. They keep large turtles in an open area where kids are allowed to jump on and hit them. The baby tiger they let 30 kids "pet" at the end looked very stressed. I quickly realized this is not the place I expected. It is certainly not a safari, more like an animal prison. http://kfor.com/2015/01/23/undercover-investigation-humane-society-alleges-abuse-at-exotic-animal-park/

It's small enough that you don't get exhausted walking but can see some interesting animals

We fed a zebra and tiger. They were friendly and informative. The animals seemed to be taken care of.

Why are the many negative reviews for this zoo in another section under 'not recommended for viewing"?

Still, we got to see a lot of the zoo's residents. We started with as much of the indoor viewing as we could. The OKC Zoo has an impressive collection of snakes -- especially venomous snakes. What can I say about snakes? Not a lot, other than I enjoyed watching them, and I am glad they were in their environment and I was in mine! I do wish the Zoo had included a notice about the dangers of invasive species, as I live in Florida and I have seen first hand what the python population has done to native species in South Florida. While the pythons on exhibit are fascinating, the Zoo should remind visitors that non-native reptiles should not be kept as pets. As the day warmed up, we spent a lot of time visiting the giraffes, the elephants, the many big cats and the full range of animals living at the Zoo, to the extent they were not sheltering from the cold. I could restate what the Zoo has on its website, but I suggest anyone who is interested in visiting should spend quality time exploring the Zoo's website and making a plan. We had about three hours for our visit, and we could have used more time than that!

Sure, I can read a map, but that doesnt prevent the periodic "wrong turn" LOL. Those signs helped keep me on track. LOVED the dinosaur exhibit!!!! If you havent been to it, you should go! I ate at the Lotus food area for the first time. Hands down the best food and cost effective of any of the zoo food! Really liked the decor and atmosphere! Very clean, friendly service! We came right after a lunch rush and it was impeccably clean!
