We had an instructor who was knowledgeable and helpful....although her attempt at humor throughout the night fell flat. (Sorry). There was another gal there who ran the refreshment stand and also helped us. We could always easily get help if we needed it. The concession stand was pretty good. They had beer and wine and a bunch of canned stuff like margaritas and piña colada's, things like that. They also had soda and chips. It was a good "snack only" concession stand. I was visiting a friend in Oklahoma and she suggested we hang out in OKC and paint. Bee was our teacher and Marina assisted with the painting and tended the bar. The available drink options are water, pop, wine, beer, white claw and bottomless mimosas are $12. You are able to bring food but will need to eat at a different station that is set aside. Our teacher Bee was a very talented artist. She was very patient and kind and always offered assistance, even helping if we made a mistake or needed guidance. She wanted to make sure we all were happy with our work. The studio is located in Bricktown in Oklahoma City. There is a nice canal with boats and plenty of restaurants bars and night clubs. We had a very nice time and our pictures turned out very nicely. You will need to make a reservation... We went on a Sunday night and all the seats were full. read more

The teachers are nice and helpful which is great because a few other paint places I have gone to have not been helpful at all. Fun experience for a girl's night out! We arrived to the class about 10 minutes late due to parking issues (next time we'll plan extra time to park) but the instructors quickly caught us up with the rest of the group. They were very patient, especially with those who are painting challenged...me! I loved having access to wine and snacks while we painted (separate costs from the class). BE CAREFUL IF THEY WARN YOU ABOUT A CLASS CANCELLATION!!! I was told the day before my class that I was the only person signed up so it will more than likely cancel. I tried calling the day of the class to see if they were holding it or canceling it and left a message for them to call and let me know. I didn't want to drive all that way if it was canceled. I never got a callback, so I didn't go...assuming it was canceled. Of course it ended up holding, so now I'm being penalized by their cancellation policy (I lose $10 of my comped cost) as a no-show. I wish they had never told me that it MIGHT cancel because I was the only person signed up. If I had never had that doubt, I would've gone! While they did apologize for leading me to think that it would be cancelled, they still penalized me for not showing up! read more

Immediately upon walking in you feel like you're in an art studio, ready to create! Tons of paintings line the brick walls, and paint splattered floors have that warehouse type feel. In the back is a small beer/wine bar with bar priced drinks (most between $7 and $8 dollars each). They have a decent selection. The instructor was very informative and there was plenty of breaks to get more drinks, use the restroom, and finish catching up until everyone was ready to move on. The entire painting took about 3 hours. I was afraid it would turn out awful because we chose a night with several blended colors and lots of shading, and from a girl who can barely draw a stick figure it actually turned out really great. The instructor, Faye, was so great at answering questions and helping you through the steps. Eric was the bartender and he was also an artist helping us individually if we weren't happy with what we had just painted. They really helped us create paintings we were satisfied with!! I won a door prize drawing at the end for a free class! So it looks like I'll be going back and bringing friends! read more

I was ecstatic when I saw Pinot's Palette was doing a My Favorite Murder event. I knew I had to go. It was everything I hoped it would be and a Murderinos dream! Upon arrival, I was thrilled to see they had the place decorated like a crime scene with chalked bodies, caution tape and all. The building was in a cute location in Bricktown by the canal. They had themed drinks which included a "Murderini" which came in a "blood" rimmed wine glass and "Beach Please" which was a blue tropical drink; both were delicious. The workers were absolutely amazing and super friendly! Our bartender was Darlene and she was phenomenal and super helpful. Our instructor was Chelsea and she was super amazing also. My friend and I had so much fun doing this painting and attending the event. They even gave away raffle prizes which were My Favorite Murder themed! They also have an option to frame your painting when you're done which I did. At the end of the event they even let a couple of people share their hometown murders which was super fun. Love this place! The price and experience works as a multilevel bundle, in my opinion. For around $35 (some classes are between $35-$40, I think) you paint the theme of the night, or you can go off course if you're that amazing. But if you're that great, why are you here making the rest of us look bad? Geeeze~. And as long as you don't completely fall on your face, the painting you do is a pretty solid gift to a loved one (probably not a work friend. "uh haha wtf? uhm thanks?"), so 35 bucks ain't bad for a gift. You can totally suck at arts and crafts but the artists who lead you through the process are great gals (hey, if there's a dude, sorry. I've only met the ladies) and they'll help you fix or cover up mistakes, whether they're from a color mixing mishap or too broad of a stroke. The wine and beer aren't too pricey, either. About normal for going out and not overly inflated. A lot of us need liquid courage to go on our art journey. read more

I've now been to Pinot's Palette twice, and I can honestly say both times were a pretty sweet experience. Although I feel like $30-50 a night for a few hours (per person) is a little stiff, I do recognize that paints/brushes/canvases/etc costs money, so it's really not a bad price. Just expensive enough that I can't afford to go very often. The wine is pretty decent, around $8 a glass. My wife is more of a wine person than I, so I'm not clear on if that's a good price or not. The instructors are great, funny, helpful. I'm an awful painter, but still manage to to make a painting I could put on my wall and pass off as my 2 yr old daughter's masterpiece. Not a whole lot else to say, it's just a fun time. read more

I was expecting a different experience, more artistic. It is very crowded, noisy and disorganized. The picture you paint is chosen for you. No painting outside the lines here and no room for individuality. Teachers were correcting and painting for those having problems instead of teaching by telling them HOW to develop technique. It's an assembly line of novices. It was relaxing to paint & took my mind off of other things. Wine was good and prices comparable to restaurants. I cannot draw. I cannot paint. But after two hours at this place, I have a damn good-looking peacock. This place is SO freaking fun. Club music, adults laughing and drinking, all the pretty paints you want, and instructors who realize that you are there to party. You can follow your own heart and choose different colors. Hellz, they even say you can paint a different picture if you want. They don't care. They just want you to have a good time. It is a great place to go for a date. The most fun is singing along to the music, slathering the paint all over the canvas for the background color, wearing fun aprons, and posing for cute pictures - you don't even have to take your own pictures because the owners and assistant circle the room and take lots of photos of individuals/couples/groups and they post them immediately on their FB page. The instructors make the paintings that look so amazing and complex really easy, but no need for carbon copies, because your art is you! Trust me, you will get so addicted to this activity because of the good time you have and because, when you look at other people's paintings and how creative they were, you tell yourself that you will do an even better job next time. It is a legit thing to do on an evening out. Don't think of this as boring and proper, sitting down to paint in silence. Nope. it's like going out for drinks with the girls/guys, only with paintbrushes. How to do it? If you Google Natasha Westcoat, you will see most of the paintings these venues use, particularly the trees. If you look at these businesses from an entrepreneurial standpoint, you will see they are very popular in the Southern states (is that a good thing or a telling thing?) If you look from business to business within the industry you will see this too. I also wouldn't pay $8 a glass for something that cost $6 a bottle. They want you to have a good time because they use the absolute cheapest supplies on the market and make a large margin off of your good time. It is win-win if you have a good time, so there's that... but if you want to really learn how to paint there are artists who teach more meaty/worthwhile classes for the same prices. read more

I was able to come here for a networking event and it was so much fun! I am not an artist by any means, but my painting turned out pretty well and I felt good about completing something that I never thought I could do. It was really interesting to see how everyone else's paintings turned out too because they display all of our personalities on the canvas.
