I adore Asian Barbecue. My brother and I often barbecue hop to try multiple restaurants in one evening. Just thinking about barbecue makes me salivate! We visited Tiger BBQ twice. Both times we were not satisfied with the skewers. My brother felt their lamb skewers ($4.99) are on an average smaller than other restaurant in the same category. Cabbage skewers ($4.99) are partly undercooked. As well, cost slightly more ($1) than other restaurants. Limited vegetarian barbecue options. If I have a choice, I would not visit Tiger BBQ for skewers given so many better options in the area!

Amazing bbq place! My family and I have came here twice and every time just gets better! Staff is so friendly and welcoming, one of the servers remembered us and served us very quickly which was a definite plus. The spices used for their kabobs are unique and compliments the meats very well. Would recommend trying the lamb skewers and lean beef. As those two are my favourite. They are also well known for their hot pots (pork belly) is very good in my opinion and the meat is very fresh and tender. Boiled dumplings here are also very good (veggies/seafood and pork) (leek and pork) This place is one of my ultimate go-tos' for bbq

Explosive Diarrhea confirmed is real. Returned for the cabbage only for further disappointment from this filthy establishment. Swearing to a vegetarian meal with my companion as we were scarred by the lamb on the first visit, we ordered: - cabbage ofc (best thing they have honestly) - mushrooms (they look super dry but actually are quite juicy and packed with flavour; looks horrendous but tastes quite nice) - tofu (like sandpaper and spicy level is through the roof) - eggplant (most disappointing shrivelled up veggie; like a used condom lol) - braised eggplant (okay but I've had much better for much cheaper) - squid (the squid was good last time too, though slightly overcooked) I will never return because I cannot stand the explosive diarrhea...it just hurts too much :'( Having diarrhea in the morning made me late for work and also made me visit the bathroom 5x more often at work...not enjoyable....not good at all...lets be honest and give negative stars (-2 stars!).

Tiger BBQ serves more than BBQ.. Any dish you think belongs to North Eastern China, you can find it here. Of course a lot of the dishes can be quite spicy, the menu didn't mark any of those dish off with pepper symbol so proceed with caution. My waitress was nice enough to ask me if I can eat spicy after she took my order. Lamb Skewers ($4.50) only comes in an order of 4 was delicious . A good mixture of fat and lean, the texture was tender. A good dash of spice... cough cough... Jello ($4.99) 川北凉粉 Jello has a more doughy texture, the sauce is well balanced with soy sauce, peanut and hot sauce. Menu is diverse including BBQ fish in hot pot and even BBQ whole rabbit and some exotic organs of cow talking about head to tail.. Cash Only!

A solid 4 star... maybe even 4.5 because the food is still very much affordable and spiced just right. I've been to several places that serve the lamb and beef skewers. Most places overload on the spices making it extra spicy, but this place does it just right! Just enough heat so it's enjoyable, and not overly salty so you don't suffer from dry mouth the rest of the night. The prices for the lamb & beef skewers are prices at $4.99 for 4. My other favorite dishes are the "home made potato chips" with spice ($3.99), and the cold noodle dish that's served with peanut sauce ($7.99) My go-to place for skewers in Scarborough.

This restaurant is located in the Alton Tower Plaza. The average price per skewer would be $5 for 2 or 4 skewers (depending on what skewers you get). I always go for the: - Lamb Skewers - Chicken cartilage - Cabbage - Fried Tofu - Beef skewers They season the items just like a lot of other Chinese skewer places but I do find that their meats a on the "smaller" side. But nonetheless flavourful. Warning: the tea pots tend to leak, at least the two teapots I had did (and it was not because of my pouring skills). It gets pretty busy on a Friday night, but not busy enough for you to be waiting for long. Would recommd coming here, meats taste great!

    Squid skewer. So. Bomb.

This place has great food if you can look past the ugly interior and old furnitures. Weve tried skewers and other dishes and we like all of them except for the steam dumplings. Not that they were not good but they taste like the frozen dumplings you would get at the supermarket. Other than the must haves like lamb and cabbage skewers.. I highly recommend the squid skewers and grilled mushrooms! Squid is super flavourful and perfectly grilled and the mushrooms are juicy.

I ordered the chicken fried rice and the pork fried rice. The taste is nothing special, just your regular comfort food. The chicken fried rice tasted a little better than the pork fried rice. Too much oil and not dried enough for fried rice. I would give chicken a pass but not the pork.

Awesome place for skewers! Been here multiple times but finally reviewing it now! The skewers are spicy and some are quite a salty (which I like) - unfortunately it seems they've bumped up the prices. Lamb skewers used to be $4.99/4 skewers but it's now $5.99/4 skewers. Either way, my favourites are the leek, lamb, chicken cartilage, and beef skewers; I also really like their cold noodles, grilled small fish (my favourite, must try!! ) and mushroom dish too! I was not a big fan of the grilled lettuce (bit bitter, perhaps undercooked?), squid kebab (tough) or the corn (tough as well) . The dumplings weren't bad either (average tbh) and the veggie dish was too oily and spicy (can't remember the name of the dish). Was very full by the end and satisfied. Ordered a pitcher of beer for ~$7 which I thought was an awesome deal. The servers were nice and didn't say much but abided to every request we needed. The food comes out at a decent time and once it comes out, it basically comes all at once - love that! The place is not too loud during the evening but near the night it definitely can. My favourite thing about this place is that it opens until 2am which allows me to satisfy my cravings late at night haha! Plenty of parking space too. The reason for one star off is mostly the increased prices and some dishes being not that amazing. TIP: menu and order sheet is all in Chinese, no English

7/1/15: This was one of our last meals in Canada, before taking off for home. And omg, one of our best meals here!!! My gf loves the spicy food from her hometown in China, and this stuff is some of the most authentic I have ever tasted anywhere in the Americas! Its hole-in-the-wall looks and crappy location are probably holding this place back, but if you're looking for truly authentic food from the northern-China/Middle-eastern/Turkish region, this is it. Sorry, I have no clue what this type of food is called, but just that it's what they serve in that area. Skewers. Spicy with lots of cumin. Heavily influenced by Turkish and Middle Eastern food. Yeah, have no clue what it's called, but it's really good stuff! I'm really sad that there is no equivalent that we have ever found in California of this kind of food. If there were, we'd probably hit it up every week! 1. Molson Canadian Lager Beer C$2.99: If you're gonna eat spicy skewered Asian food, you gotta have beer right!? Well, we had yet to try Canadian beer, so here it is. It was alright. I don't remember it, for better or worse. 5/10. 2. #1 Lamb skewer [? I think] C$4.99: This is the sht. Exactly like it should be. My gf makes this every time we do BBQ with friends. Chewy, meaty, spicy, ultra heavy cumin. Great. Must get. 10/10. 3. #6 Beef skewer (4) fat [? I think] C$4.99: Pretty much the same as the lamb skewer but with beef. 10/10. 4. #10 Aorta and beef skewer (4) C$5.99: Well, this was a total first for me! So excited to try something new! In this case, the aorta (of heart) is kinda like calamari rings--very similar in taste and texture actually. And they put some beef in the middle. Looks odd.... and awesome! Ha ha.... well, tastes badass too. Same sweet and spicy mixture. MUST TRY! 10/10 5. #22 BBQ quail C$3.99: Surprisingly cheap. I'm not the hugest fan of quail cause there's little meat, and in this case it's pretty much what I expected. Not too meaty, but if you like quail, you'll like this. 6/10. 6. #40 BBQ fried tofu (2) C$2.99: Not normally what I would get, but she wanted it. And what do you know!--tastes awesome with that special hot sauce they use! Glad I tasted another variation of tofu! 7/10. 7. #52 House special clear noodle in sauce C$7.99: Unfortunately I don't remember much except that it was good. 8. #79 Preserved napa & pork belly hot wok [? I think] C$10.99: I think this is a typical preparation of the dish. Reminds me of my mom's cooking. It's good with rich broth. Not sure it's that special though. 7/10. So, you've seen the previous reviews, of which there are only 3 at this time. I doubt any of them are familiar with this type of food. Heck, since I've NEVER seen this before in America, outside of my own gf's cooking, yeah I doubt there could be more than just a handful of people on this CONTINENT who know what this is! Anyway........... if you're open to new experiences, this is a great place. Very great. Damn I wish they had one near SF. I'm sure there would have been 1000+ Yelp reviews with stars through the roof! 5/5 #canada #chinese #szechuan #sichuan

I'm terribly disappointed at the quality of its takeout seafood chew mien. There's barely anything in there except for oil, salt and noodles. I dug through the pile of noodles, and I could only find 2 teeny tiny baby shrimps and a handful of pathetic squid tentacles, literally 1 CM each. It costed me 7.99+ tax. Who would want a meal like that?!

Update: the beef skewers are now distinctly better than the lamb skewers. Also tried the chicken, which was pretty good but super bony. I've been sufficiently impressed enough to bump it from a 3 to a 4 star, although it's a low 4... Stay away from the beef tendon unless you want to prank a friend!

    Yum!

From the outside, this place may not look impressive, but they do serve good food! After having dinner near this area, we quickly stopped by for savory snacks instead of desserts. Lamb skewers were seasoned well and overall very authentic and delicious food. Because we were too full from dinner, we did not get to order a lot. I will definitely go back to try different items from the menu!

They gave us the table directly in front of the counter where the cashier stays, so I requested a different table which we then had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for. This is not at all a complaint as it was requested. The service was good but most of the servers didn't really speak English, which I guess is to be expected in Chinatown. I don't have any complaints about that. The food took about 10-15 minutes once ordered. We ordered the Grilled Squid, Grilled Oysters, Beef Ribs, Chicken Thigh Skewers, Bean Curd Rolls w/ Cilantro, Grilled Eggplant and Cauliflower. Pretty much everything was over flavoured and lots of MSG. The beef ribs were quite good. Not the best I've had but good. The chicken skewers were fine. The oysters tasted pretty decent but I only had a couple bites of one because I'm not a huge fan of oysters. The bean curd rolls were fine but they could have been better if they took the time to put just cilantro leaves in there not the whole stems, which made them take forever to chew. The grilled eggplant was good only because I love eggplant, there was waaay too much seasoning for the thin piece of eggplant. The cauliflower was my favourite but again, the seasoning should be toned down. The Grilled Squid we both took one bite of and could immediately tell it was either not fresh or not good quality so we didn't eat it. They removed it from the bill as requested which we appreciated. They had free self serve slushies which was a cute touch. Overall the staff and service was good but the food was below average, which was disappointing given the restaurant's rating.

There's no reservation system but they do have a waitlist on Yelp which gets you in line (highly recommended). First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! You have to try them if you like meat and AYCE!

We walked into a lively, casual space that works especially well for groups, celebrations, or any meal where you want to take your time and enjoy the experience. The energy in the room is high, with the sound of grilling and conversation filling the space, and the table setup encourages a longer, more relaxed pace than a typical restaurant meal. The biggest highlight is the meat selection. The quality is consistently strong, with different cuts and marinades that give each plate its own flavor. The miso steak is one of the standout items, with a really good balance of savory, slightly sweet, and rich flavors. The marinated meats are where Gyubee really shines, coming seasoned well and developing a great char from grilling at the table. We worked through a range of options including kalbi, hanger steak, and sausage, mixing and matching as we went. The fun part is being able to control the cooking yourself, whether you prefer a lighter sear or a deeper grilled flavor, and the grill setup makes it easy to cook at your own pace. The sides and extras are also better than what we usually expect from an all you can eat BBQ spot. The sushi was surprisingly enjoyable, with smaller portions that made it easy to try different rolls without filling up too quickly. The bibimbap is another good addition, especially when paired with the grilled meats. Takoyaki and other sides helped break up the meal and added variety beyond just ordering meat after meat. The spread is broad enough that you can build a well rounded meal without feeling like you are stuck in a single category. Service was a strong part of the experience. Even with the restaurant being busy, the staff were attentive and checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. They kept the table moving, helped with ordering, and made the process feel smooth despite the constant flow of guests. The wait can be the biggest challenge, especially during dinner hours, but the service once seated helped make up for it. The staff also handled the high turnover of tables well, keeping the pace steady without making us feel rushed. Gyubee is one of those places where the experience is just as important as the food. The combination of grilling at the table, quality meats, good sides, and a fun group atmosphere makes it a great choice for a longer meal with friends or family. It is worth planning ahead for the wait because the meal itself delivers the kind of relaxed, interactive dining experience that makes you want to come back. The format encourages you to slow down, cook at your own pace, and enjoy the meal as a shared activity rather than just a quick dinner.

Instead, I waited over an hour with no update. When I finally called the restaurant to check on the order, I was casually told that it had been cancelled because they ran out of food. The problem is that no one bothered to notify me. No message in the app, no call -- nothing. I was simply left waiting for over an hour for an order they apparently already knew they couldn't fulfill. What made it worse was the attitude on the phone. The person I spoke with was rude and dismissive, with no apology or attempt to make the situation right. Now I'm told the refund could take up to 10 business days to return to my credit card. Running out of food happens. Ignoring a $200+ order for over an hour on a Friday night and then being rude to the customer is unacceptable. Plenty of better BBQ options in the city -- I won't be ordering from here again.
